Tiny eyes blinked open as the boy woke from a long sleep. He usually didn't stay dreaming this long.. He liked to get up and adventure early and start his day. Four paws stretched enormously as he yawned wide. Finally he would rise quickly, not paying attention to who was still in the den or not and find his way outside.
The pup stuck his little nose to the ground and sniffed around, looking for something new or fun. It was very chilly outside, but that wouldn't stop him. It may have worried his parents or others of the pack, but he would still find a way out of their grasp.
Paws would trot along, eventually coming to the frozen lake where he stood and looked down at his hazy reflection. Smelling the surface one more time, he wouldn't give it another thought before pouncing forward and sliding across the ice hunkered down on his stomach. With no fear, the boy would giggle as he spun and eventually slowed to a halt. This was fun! No one could stop him from what he was doing, especially after he discovered the thrill.
Valor was feeling rather depressed. Ma was back and yet he hadn't gotten to spend any time with her at all. He didn't know if she was busy or if she didn't want to see them at all. First she'd disappeared on some trip and now she still wasn't seeing them. Did she not love them anymore? Had they done something to upset her? Were they not trying hard enough to please her? He thought he was a good boy. Their Da' had spent time with them and seemed proud of them all, but yet their Ma' was different. What was he doing wrong?
He'd left the den a bit earlier than everyone else. He'd slipped away to practice his hunting skills like Fortune had taught them. He'd gotten a lot better trying to walk quieter, but right now the snow made it really hard. Even if he was quiet it crunched underfoot and made it almost impossible. A sigh left him as he finally gave up. No wonder mom didn't wanna be around. He still couldn't even keep his paws quiet.
Large ears perked up when he heard someone leaving the den. He eyed the entrance as he ducked behind a tree and watched as Exodus left. His mood picked up slightly - maybe he'd wanna play! But where was he going? He watched him get farther away before he trailed after him. Eventually the frozen lake came to view and his tail waved behind him. It was too cold for swimming so what was he up to? He came to a stop and watched him as he stared at the ice before running forward and sliding across the ice. That looked like so much fun! Why hadn't he thought about that? Without any hesitation he ran forward with a wide grin on his face and flung himself across the lake. His legs wobbled and he went twirling across the frozen lake while laughing his head off.
Mouth opened wide with a loose tongue as the pup saw his brother come after and join him. He would rise and try to run across the ice, claws sliding across the surface as his legs wobbled and slipped. But he wasn't getting hurt at all, just wasn't used to the movement. "Valllor!" He whined excitedly, happy that he had a companion to play with now. He was glad to have his siblings. He couldn't imagine waking up everyday and not having anyone to play with. Sure his dad would be there but he wanted so much more!
Eventually his legs would pick up on the surface and he would start to shoot off towards his brother. Noticing how fast he was going, he tried to slide to a stop but to no success. Panic was not in his eyes, only the fun he was having on top of the ice. "Wahch oout!" He shouted, hoping his brother would move out of the way before he got hurt.
