There was a stranger on the horizon. He was coated in slate-gray drapes contrasted by a milk-white underbelly. Slanted green, wolf-like eyes studied the surface of the new terrain. It seemed eerily barren ahead and the perpetual optimist paused. For once in his careless breeze there was hesitation, the dangle of a slender paw. He wasn’t sure what lay ahead and there was an unusual atmosphere in this place. He was comforted only by the wan sunlight of morning dripping onto the earth and highlighting his thin fur. Despite his reservations he plodded on, curious by the unusual nature of this place.

As he drew nearer he realized there were trees indeed. Skeletal, spindly trunks reached upwards, coated in ice. His slim forelimbs shuddered as he passed through the region. He was not well-suited to Winter, it seemed. Or at least this cold. He was beginning to think perhaps his siblings were better off… Hunger had begun to gnaw at the muscle around his ribs, letting his body slowly begin to fade away. He was a fraction what he had been. But his spirit remained and he was determined to find something worth his adventure. He had to learn more. He hoped that they fared well in the cold and it was his only misgiving as he made his way forward, through this beautiful, yet intimidating, land of ice.

Navigation - Submerged Woods

The warming of spring lulled Karabela back to the north.  It had been awhile since she'd wandered in the northern territories and as always her restless heart kept drawing her away from her packlands.  At this point she almost wondered if she should just turn Ivory Ridge over to Birna.  Thankfully her aunt didn't seem to perplexed to be left in charge of a pack while her niece went wander but then Birna had always been a protective wolf.  Guarding borders and packmates was in the woman's blood.

Morning sunlight reflected off the remnants of snow as Karabela's golden gaze spied a nestling of spindly pines in the distance. As she neared she blinked back the reflection of light off of ice.  The entire forest was frozen, the trunks of the trees stretching down deeper and deeper into the deep of the lake while only the tops remained above the surface.  What an unusual place…

She caught the scent of another and looked up, scanning the area until she noticed a gray and white male.  He was nearly a foot shorter than her and thin enough to make her suspect he was probably a loner. Karabela moved forward and called out.  "Hello there!  It's a lovely day for a walk isn't it?"
