Foreshadowing

Sixx stopped short on the border of glaciem teriory. He was NOT going back in there without Sacrement by his side. Sacrement's massive claws could shred any wolf to pieces without any effort at all! Huge paws the size of dinnerplates could crush bone with one slap to the back. Her oversized teeth hung out her lower jaws and gat most wolves nightmares. But she's be running way late to the party. It takes a while for something so big to travel from the southern most point to up north.
Sixx didn't want to stir up much trouble. Mostly just talk to his brother and try to convince him to come back before Sacrement arived to take him back by force. He really didn't want to kill his brother, but he would if he must... Or raise the stakes... But that'd be later. ?He snorted as he waited. He knew his brother'd walk by here. It was Awaken's personaly get away. A large weeping-willow's branches arched over with frost hanging off them. The white ?snow dusted the tree and made it a cave of branches.?
Just as he predicted his brother had strolled by, with a little girl... He reconized the scent... The girl he chased... Oh this would be fun. He watched silently in the snow as he escorted her under the white branches. The tree was half on half off the glaciem teritory so he could get under it and still not be tresspassing. He forced his was through the branches, his wickedest grin ?plastered on his face. " Prince nexium. I'm back. Don't fear me yet, im not here to kill anyone today. Although her mother tasted amazing!" He teased at the young girl, who was hiding behind Awaken's flank.?
?? ? "Oh brother. How i poty you. Your already dead and you don't even know it. Sacrement's on her way... It will take her a while to get here and you have untill then to make your Disicision, but if you don't come willingly, she will slaughter everyone... Sacrement isn't a wolf at all. I wont tell you what she is but she's not anything anyone around here has ever seen before. She's a literal war machiene and the reason why the Nex Sacrementum pack was never invaded."?

It was by sheer luck that Mercianne happened to be within the same vicinity as Awaken and Ithurial. Rarely did she hunt with others, and admittedly she had been slacking with her duties as a hunter now that her thoughts had become so wrapped up in becoming a healer, so she had already determined to catch something, if only a little something, to add to the pack's stores. With the weather taking the turn that it was, the cream colored white wolf was sure every little bit would help.
She stalked along near the edge of the territory, paw steps careful and quiet as she placed them delicately into the snow. Her muzzle trailed over the topmost layer of snow, scenting for anything that might have passed by recently. Two scents, rather strong to indicate recentness, caught her attention, and one in particular made her smile. She recognized the dark colored wolf's scent from the recent excitement that had taken place within her home's borders of late, and was incredibly happy to note that the care she had given to Awaken's wounds had been enough to let him wander the lands freely and so soon. In such a short time, she had grown close to him, counting him among her most trusted friends for the protection and companionship he had offered her. He was one of the few friends she had that she could reasonably see on a daily basis for being part of her pack.
Had everything remained the way it was, Merci likely would have gone along about her business and left the two wolves she had scented alone. She had no reason to trouble them, and likely if they wished to find her they could have by trailing her own scent. But as she began to continue about her hunt, once again focusing on the other smells that mingled in the area, she heard something out of the ordinary. The voice was youthful, anxious, loud and desperate. The white wolf's ears perked and her head rose, turning to stare toward the rapidly approaching figure of a young she-wolf. Generally she was not of much help to anyone - even her healing skills were meager at best - but the poor wolf seemed in such a state of fright that she felt compelled to find out what was wrong.
Lifting her voice, Mercianne barked toward the running figure, turning completely and then hurrying over to join her. There was no smile about her face - her concern completely overrode any sense to signify that she was a friend and not someone to fear - but her tail gave a faint wag as if to say she wished to help. "What is it?" she asked as she came closer, hoping now that she had placed herself in a position to help that she actually could.

?? ? Sixx watched as the girl left and his brother relaxed. "just as i thought. Putting up a show and having no bite." He shruged, but was startled by his brother's silence. Death was always silent before it struck. He backed up afew paces to ensure a hastey escape if needed, his head lowering to show submission.
??
??The white demon raised his eyes to meet his brothers for a moment. A calm convorsation. He could do that. He relaxed his stance and stayed on his side of the line. His white fur relaxing against his back, his ears calmly faced forward. "Sacrement is a beast beyond all others. The largest land predator ever lived. She is the bigest feline around and after the fire she went into seclusion. But in her prime she was the first line of defense. She would take down any threats and escort alphas to and fro battlefeilds. She's killed many wolves and even more animals of other kinds. "?
?? ? His eyes scanned Awaken's cold face. Everytime he looked at him he resembled his old self. Less savage but that would most likely come with time. "You still resembled your old persona... You'll remember yourself soon." He laid down causiously in the snow. His ears perking back to his brother as he heard ?'So the thing is Sacrement will kill everyone if I dont come back right?' He simply nodded slowly. " No, Sacrement will still slaughter whoever she sees fit. She'll attack healers first, then warriors then pup and work her way up the ranks. It'd be easiest if you just came with us." ?Sixx sighed as Awaken calmly protested against his attempt to bring him back. He stood and turned. "Alright. I'm sorry. You've just killed your friends and yourself with that disicion." He shrugged walking away.?

The poor young wolf shivered, obviously frazzled by whatever had caused her to go darting off into the territory as she had. If anything, the involuntary movement only managed to increase Mercianne's worry. Maybe she was getting in over her head. If it was something incredibly serious, either another attack or someone severely injured, then there was likely little she could do in terms of offering assistance. She would be useless. She would be wasting time. She could be hindering someone's survival.
Before her worry could completely obliterate any sense of confidence she had, the yearling spoke up, informing her of a white wolf who had chased her here and then of a black wolf who had come to her rescue. As she listened, Merci's ears began to fall back against her skull. So another attack then. Was it the same wolves who she knew of? The crazed loner had been very adamant about making his presence known, always to cause even more disruption to the poor Glaciem wolf Awaken. Can it be him? she wondered nervously, an uneasiness settling somewhere in her stomach.
As a fight was mentioned, the timid, creamy white wolf's ears perked. That was something she could help with, at least, though it was not something she was particularly happy about. If there was no fighting at all that would have been preferable. But if they were the individuals she was thinking of - and the young wolf's descriptions were not so far off - then it was likely a definite possibility to find once she got there. And the sooner that was the better.
Mercianne trailed quickly in the wake of the yearling wolf, her stomach in a nervous mess the longer she thought about what she might find. More open wounds? More torn muscle? More pain and injury that she would need to do her best to fix? Would she even be skilled enough this time around to tend to the carnage she might find once they arrived where they were going? None of her thoughts were helping, depleting what little courage she had in her abilities the further they went. She was only too grateful that the poor pup was facing forward as she led them to their destination; she would have hated for her to know the help she had sought was having second thoughts.
At last they did arrive, and one more Mercianne's stomach turned. She recognized the wolf who stood alone beneath the tree that bordered the pack's territory, and felt certain in that instant of who the other wolf who had caused the commotion had been as well. "Awaken!" Thoughts full of what she might be needed to do, the little white wolf hurried around her small guide and rushed to the larger, darkly colored wolf's side, sniffing and glancing about his frame even before she stopped beside him with a look of worry and concern about her face. "Are you okay?" she asked, anxious, ears tucked, but as her dark brown eyes roamed over him she saw nothing new, nothing red or bleeding. He didn't even look a little bit ruffled. Relief began to fill her then, and a heavy sigh rolled out from her lungs as her eyes rose to meet his again, too comforted by knowing he was fine to feel embarrassed about overreacting.

?? ? Awaken gave a huff of air as he exited the tree, looking back to see if Sixx left, witch he had. He continued to walk, his paws sinking into the snow as he steped causeing him to kick it up as he treaded. The sound of paws running at him made him snapp his head up. It was his little friend running with someone farmiliar... Oh, it was Merci! He gave a smile as she passed the small golden wolf and began checking him over.
? He couldn't help but chuckle as she scanned his body for wounds. He found her concern rather cute. "Oh, don't worry yourself. Im fine. He didn't touch me." He gave an affectionate smile, his emerald eyes sparkling in the rising sun. His ebony coat shined with sunlight.
?? He noticed her embarassment, the aura filled the air. He thought hard to try to make that feeling go away. "Hey, don't be embarrassed! It's alright to worry about someone" He gave a friendly lick over the side of her muzzle to show he was alright, his tail wagging slightly behind him. If wolves could blush he'd be redder than a tomatoe right now.

The sound of Awaken's laughter, even muted as it was in the form of a chuckle, eased an answering smile upon her face. If there had been anything wrong with him - which she had already evaluated that there wasn't - he wouldn't have been able to stand so solidly before her and laugh like that. Just as her assessment had yielded, he was perfectly fine, and said as much to her when he followed his chuckle up with a response to her concern. Not even a touch. It seemed strange to her that Sixx should leave without so much as attempting to harm Awaken, but Mercianne was far too ready to accept any small victory that she could find. She met his vibrant green eyes briefly before looking away again, realizing belatedly just how concerned she had been.
Attentive to her, the dark colored wolf seemed to catch the subtle change and call her out on it, assuring her in what she thought he assumed was a helpful tone that she hadn't acted out of line. Of course he could say that; he hadn't done anything himself. She smiled sheepishly downward, her ears splaying slightly as she tried to overcome her sudden shyness, when his tongue unexpectedly shot out to brush quickly against the side of her muzzle. The gesture seemed to catch her even more off guard, her dark brown eyes blinking before she tucked her head toward her chest timidly, ears now pinned to her head.
He did have a point and she knew it. Awaken was her friend, one of the rare few who had decided to live within the Glaciem and therefore allowed them to spend more time together than the others. But despite that, Merci's smile faltered a little as she attempted to answer him. "I feel like I'm worrying too much, but...there's a lot to worry about." The expression about her face turned more serious, concern settling within her dark eyes. "He's unpredictable. That wolf who attacked you. You don't know when he's going to show up again. And there's no telling what he's going to do next when he does. What if-" Her words got stuck and so she tried again, gaze lowered. "What if I can't help next time?" she asked gently. She knew her healing skills were still in need of improvement and no where near complete - or at least as complete as they could get given the training available. It worried her that her skills might fail her in his time of need, and she wasn't sure how she could cope with it if circumstances pulled in that direction.

?? ? Awaken gave a kind grin nuzzling his face into Merci's neck. His black fur mixing with her white fur. She smelled nice, a way that reminded him cherryblosoms in spring time. "Dont worry, its naturaly to feel afraid when theirs a crazy phycopath on the loose." he refused to tell her about the tiger. He doubted the idea of a crazed striped death demon of doom comming to rip everyone into frosted flakes would not be "GRRREEEEEEAAT" for her anxiety.?
?? ? His face fell when he realized she was becoming shy again. He gently nudged her muzzle up with his. "commooon Meci." He purred. "Your a wolf not a deer. You rule the forest. Keep your head up and just go with the flow." He was attempting to encourage her not to worry, but how effective he was. Well... Was questionable.?
?? ?He demonstrated by holding his head up high and going to stride out like a proud stud. His tail almost touching the back of his head. He was able to walk about three feet before his accsedent prone antics were at it again. Constantly vexxing him when least conveiniant. He place one speckled paw down, as it sank into the snow, the ground seemed lower than the rest of the area below the blanket of white.?
?? ?He was sent face first into the snow, having tripped over a hidden pothole. He worked his front feet back under him as he pulled his face from the snow. He had a muzzle full of fluff and his confidance had been shattered. Awaken never had much luck with girls now did he? He began to chuckle at his own misfortune, studdying the impring were he'd fallen. It was perfect. The indention looked identical to his face. "Heh... Snow-wolf"

Worry coursed strongly through the timid white she-wolf as she spilled her fears to the large wolf before her, hoping that they might not be brushed aside as silly or unnecessary. They were very much necessary in her mind, especially since she had already seen what the wolf could do. He was dangerous unlike many others, lacking the same sort of reason that someone with a conscience might have. Unpredictable, she had said, and she believed it strongly. And, maybe a little more than she knew to recognize, she feared losing the companionship of one of her newest friends when she was growing to enjoy it so much.
Kindly he reached toward her and pressed his face into her neck, and without fully realizing what drove her to do it she stepped forward to do the same, burying her face into the thick fur there as she nuzzled him roughly. To feel him strong and steady before her, unhurt and unharmed, was more reassuring than she would have expected, and she exhaled in a relaxing sigh. His answer seemed to make light of the situation he was in, and though she didn't quite smile it did ease her mind to know that he could joke about things, even when they seemed so scary.
She was not quite so used to being so forward, even when her emotions were a little out of her control, and so she did feel the embarrassment of her open affection rather strongly. Awaken, however, still appeared determined not to let her off the hook. Reluctantly, she let him lift her muzzle upward though lowered it slightly as he drew away, her dark brown eyes watching him as he tried to build her confidence. It was not an easy task that he set himself to, though his words and actions did draw a little smile to her face, a chuckle lurking just below the surface.
Of course, it was stalled by a sudden gasp that elicited from her muzzle as her friend's silly strut ended up with his face in the snow. For a split second, she worried - as came naturally to her - but upon seeing him lift his head from the snow, covered in it, the chuckles broke from her smiling face in a quiet fit of giggles. She stepped quietly over to join him, following his poison apple stare to the snow to examine the imprint he had left behind. "It's a good snow-wolf," she agreed, smiling timidly upward at him as she hoped that her worrisome mood might completely slip away.

Awaken gave a chuckl eas he got back up, shaking the snow off his black fur, sending it all over Mercianne. A sudden look to the side and an icy gust of wind nearly knocked him over. The atmosphere almost completely white. All he could see was Mercianne. Luckily Ithurial had slipped away before this and was most likely at the main pack den.
It was a white out and they were stranded out in the outskirts of the packlands. Awaken cursed under his breath and looked back at the tree. He noticed it was calm under its sheltering branches. He pressed his side to hers to keep her from getting lost. She was already difficult to see due to the white fur.?
"keep next to me. We can get under that tree untill it subsides." he slowly stepped forward. The tree was only afew feet away. All they had to do was walk through the parted branches and pull them back together and they'd be good. ?

As her friend rose to his paws, Mercianne backed away a few small steps to give him some room, though it didn't quite seem enough. He stood and shook, ridding his dark pelt of the clinging snows that he had accumulated from his tumble, only to send that same snow over in Merci's direction. The timid, creamy white wolf tucked her ears and head slightly while closing her dark brown eyes as the snow fluttered her way, feeling the flakes and clumps settle along her shoulders, neck, and head. Tentatively she opened her eyes and chuckled at the silliness of it all, shaking her front half gently to get it off and lifting a paw to wipe what remained off of her muzzle.
Finally free of the snows, she was nearly sent tumbling into it herself when the winds suddenly picked up, driving past both her and Awaken with a startling force. She ducked, hunkering down slightly so as to give herself better purchase upon the ground and snows there so that she didn't get knocked sideways by a random gust. Thankfully Awaken stood out starkly, his dark coat like a beacon in the wind and snow. Where did this come from? she wondered, but didn't bother saying so allowed. Even at close range, she doubted the male wolf would hear her confusion the first time she spoke it anyway.
Before she could formulate a plan for them herself, Awaken was already in action, drawing his large frame to her side to provide protection and support from the sudden wind storm. She stepped in close, her side brushing his as she settled there, comforted to have him near and to know he already had some sort of plan for them. He spoke to her above the din of the gusts, his voice naturally louder than her own would have been, and nodding her head quickly Mercianne moved to keep pace at his side, still pressing against him so that they didn't become separated in the short space they needed to walk to the tree. Small as the trek was, the weather appeared to be entirely unpredictable and there was still every possibility the flurries could become so bad that separation was still an option.
She didn't relax until they had begun to pass beneath the long branches of the tree, feeling their vine-like tendrils skim across her back and sides as she slipped inside their cover. A small shiver passed through her frame as her steps slowed, angling her head upward to peer at Awaken with another timid expression. "Thanks," she stated with a half smile.
