Regulus Anatolii Adravendi

His paws brushed through the grass as he trailed his pale younger sister’s tracks through the Plains. It was getting near to the time he would need to make the rounds of the other packs, to visit and see where they stood with Celestial, and he wanted to take his sister along. She was the only Emissary, for one, and he felt it might be a good opportunity to spend time with his moon bright sibling.

He’d hardly seen any of his siblings that still remained in Celestial. Caught their scents, and re-admitted Rasiel… but since their father’s death, he’d not seen a great deal of his younger siblings. And he had no idea of what Zuriel had been through, or where she was. There’d been no visits from Faite. And he hadn’t seen Tornach since the Challenge.

He stopped, throwing back his head and sending a thundering howl out for his little sister, fully intending for the call to reach the full range an average wolf’s voice could carry. It was time for them all to stop skulking around and work at getting the pack moving again.

Baine had one paw across the Celestial border when she heard her brother's howl. It made her jump a bit and she stopped in her tracks to look back over her shoulder toward the sound. The timing was eerie enough to make her a bit unsettled, but she was quick to brush it off. It was just Regulus, she had no reason to be nervous or anything. Her adventures would just have to wait for now! She turned back around to go the way she came and followed the faint echos of her older brother's howl so she could find him.

His large red form was always fairly easy to spot of course and she found him fairly easily among the plains. "Hey, Reg," she greeted sweetly as she trotted up to him, her tail wagging gently behind her. The only good thing about their parents being gone was that she couldn't think of anything that could be bad news for a while. Her heart still ached when she thought about them, but at least now they could relax for a moment without fear of something else bad happening. She reached up to press her nose to Regulus' cheek before she smiled softly and asked, "What's going on?"

Regulus Anatolii Adravendi

He waited patiently until he saw her pale form approaching, his tail wagging slowly in response to her greeting. “Hey Little Moon.” He responded aloud, using the nickname he’d bequeathed her with shortly after her birth and ducking his head to swipe a sloppy, brotherly kiss on her cheek in return of the nose at his cheek. Her question brought a slow sigh to his jaws as he lowered his haunches to the ground.

“What’s going on,” he said, tone slightly stern, though his eyes held no direct reproach as he looked down at her. “Is that we all need to start being a family, and a pack, again. I’ve hardly seen any of my own siblings since the Challenge and Father’s death. That’s not right. Our parents would be deeply saddened by this if they could see us all right now.” His head cocked slightly, fathomless sapphire eyes searching her pale, rose and cherry blossom face.

“In other news, you’ve been our only Emissary for quite some time. Faite had good words to say about taking you along to visit other packs. I think after another circuit of the packs with me, you should be eligible for Harbinger. But you’ll need to work at it, Baine. We all need to work together. Would it be an honor to Mother’s memory if we just let the pack fall flat and break apart?” His words weren’t meant to berate his little sister. His tone was encouraging, no anger or disappointment to be found, and his face was earnest, ears pointed forward as he watched her.

Then a flash of remembered delight came over his features as he added, tone betraying the pleasure he felt at the announcement in no uncertain terms, “Oh! And Solveiga’s home. I accepted her back a few days ago.” He knew his sister and friend were at the very least acquainted with each other; knew Baine had gone with Solveiga to see her mother, only to find her mother was dead. Hopefully Baine would find this news as heartening as he did, although he didn’t realize that she wouldn’t find it heartening in the exact same way as he.

Baine giggled as her older brother gave her a sloppy lick, giving her head a quick shake like she was grossed out by her brother's slobber being all over her cheek now even though she was just joking. She followed his lead and settled down onto her haunches. She could tell from his expression that whatever he had to talk about with her was a bit more serious, but he didn't look angry or anything so she kept her worry at bay. When he mentioned not seeing much of his own siblings she did feel a bit guilty. Ever since their parents passed she and tried to stay away more often than not just because she didn't want to be around all the gloom and sadness or anything that might remind her of such. Her little brother's sad howl still echoed in her head sometimes. Reg was right though. They needed to pull themselves together.

Baine got excited and nervous all at once when Regulus brought up the possibility of her being the next harbinger. It would be super exciting to be someone so important, but she had never really had that kind of responsibility before. She shook her head no when he asked about letting the pack fall. She certainly didn't want that. All she had ever really wanted to do was be helpful and she just hadn't really had the chance to do so yet. Maybe that would change now! "I'm ready to do some pack visits whenever you are!" she replied with an excited smile, squaring her shoulders a bit and pulling herself up to make it look like she was all confident and ready to hit the road.

Curiosity touched her expression when Regulus suddenly seemed happier and then she knew why when he mentioned that Solveiga had come back. "Oh, good!" she replied with a big smile, her tail wagging away again. She hadn't seen the sandy colored woman in a while so it was good to hear that she was back in the pack safe and sound. It did make her curious to know why Regulus seemed oh so excited about the fact that Solveiga had come back to Celestial. He seemed way too delighted for it just to be that one of their members had come back. An idea sparked in her head and she gasped at the thought her butt wiggling in place with excitement as she grinned at her older brother. "Regulus, do you like her? Like... like like?"
