The time had come, and he could wait no longer as the season threatened to choke them out. The water in their own lands had dried up, the herds moving on to find water and left the plains choked with dust and brittle grass. This winter season seemed to leave them in a drought of sorts. It was becoming difficult to find water, and he found that it was getting harder to find water sources that weren't being guarded by other more thirsty predators and large herds of buffalo and others of the sort that were appearing to become territorial over the precious resource. He was growing agitated, the pack surely having a hard time finding water without risking their lives. He had tried the falls and a few other places, but even those were drying up and becoming stagnant or even hard to approach when tons of other animals were out for the same thing. At one point near the falls, he had attempted to reach the water by climbing a trail that...wasn't even really a trail. But it was steep, the boulders smoothed by generations of the waters touch made it extremely difficult for him to reach the water, and were it not for Kimahri, he would have likely been stranded in the pool.

Likewise, he noticed the abundance of herbs they once had in the starlit plains and around the castle were wilted, shriveling up from the heat or eaten by the herds as the grasslands became dry and inedible, or to the point they were just dead in the dirt. He could not let the pack go on this way. Lack of water meant lack of energy which in turn would make them weak to hunt, or defend themselves. If they could find water to last them throughout the rest of the season, then he was sure they would be fine. He wasn't quite sure how Boreas was faring, but he hoped that his scouts had gone and done their jobs. Otherwise, they'd have to figure it all out here and go from there. He didn't like not being prepared, so he hoped someone had information.

Lashing his tail with irritation against his legs, he loped towards the castle steps, panting from the heat. He was returning from another outing, this time the male having gone further south to see what he could find, but the further he went, he scented something...off. It smelled ashy, kind of like the tar pits he had come across before but different at the same time. Of course, he had never seen fire before, so he was unaware that the season was bringing them that potential threat. Though for now it was quite far from their location. As soon as he reached the top of the steps, he threw back his head in a commanding howl for the pack to gather. He had spoke of raiding in the last meeting, so no doubt they knew what this would be about...

OOC// Mandatory meeting for the entire pack! No-shows will face IC consequences. All chars must show up in a timely manner regardless if whether or not they will be participating. First round due by 6/15! Any questions, feel free to pm or skype me~

Extended until the 22nd!

A howl split through the air, it was commanding and slightly irritated. Her ears flattened against her skull, her eyes narrowing as concern washed over her frame. She took in a deep breath and heaved herself to her paws, she had been settled under a tree seeking solace in the shade away from the heat. Slowly she would make her way over to the call, Dragon was calling for the pack once again. Though Faine had joined not too long ago, she had not gotten a chance to create bonds or relationships with the other wolves. It was a bit disheartening, but she decided that maybe it was best to keep to herself and stay out of the way for now.

She appeared at a what Kharnage had called a castle, slowly approaching Dragon and her tail flicking as she realized that she was the only one there at the moment. She sat down and looked at the Alpha, he seemed upset and she didn’t know whether she should even bother to greet him or not. Carefully though she would, “Hello, Dragon,” she said in a calm and neutral tone. She didn’t want to piss him off, but she didn’t want to be rude or awkward either by just keeping quiet.

As plentiful as Auster was in it's lusher seasons, the dry season was barren in equal proportion. He had had to range farther and farther to supply his den. It was fairly well put together at this point, but there were still some major holes. He didn't suppose he'd be able to fill them any time soon without bargaining with someone else more fortunate than he.

Anyways, it was pure luck that he had been near enough to hear Dragon's call. He winced, a thrill of guilt making his stomach flip. He hoped the young leader wouldn't be in too foul of a mood over it all. He picked up the pace and arrived at the base of the castle as soon as he was able. Kai was pleased to find only one wolf had arrived before him. He gave her a polite nod before moving closer to where Dragon sat. "It's been an interesting season so far, eh?" He said by way of greeting. Ankaios settled down and waited to see who else would arrive.

Gryphon heard the call as he stalked an unsuspecting tapir. He sighed regretfully - it would have been a good meal for the pack to tide them over. But he couldn't finish the hunt and still make the meeting. He'd told his brother he'd accept his authority as alpha, so that was that. He either needed to go through with challenging him after all, or stop sulking around. He'd been thinking of it as more, giving his brother and mother space after the incident with Lykos, but refusing to go to a meeting would certainly have qualified as sulking. He'd already missed one meeting recently.

Turning from the bumbling, pig-like creature's trail, he made his way through the plains and back to the castle. A lot of the pack members seemed to be having trouble with the heat and the drought, but Gryphon found himself thriving under it as he'd never done in the north. Maybe he was just meant to be a desert wolf.

Gryphon was puzzled and troubled to see that few wolves had appeared for the meeting yet despite his own distance from the call. He didn't recognize either of them, either, and surely he would have remembered meeting a wolf with a coat as... unusual as the male's. Silently the ranger slipped into the small group to wait for what the meeting could be about. Perhaps moving closer to an actual watersource? He had come across a few places yet while hunting that hadn't dried up too much, if that's what Dragon was planning.

The idea of a raid unnerved him. It seemed a bit aimless, but then again he'd never cared much for involving himself in the affairs of others. Particularly others who might not be entirely keen on getting messed with in the first place. Resources were scarce, he recognized that, but that didn't mean he was totally okay with what Dragon had planned.

Even worse, two of his kids seemed interesting in helping. Esarosa had already warned Sterling, but she had insisted she was an adult and would do what she wanted - and he had no doubt Jade would want to experience it too, if her sister was so insistent on it. He wasn't the type of parent either to bear down on his children for their decisions, so he would let them be - grumpily, and begrudgingly. He had half a mind to volunteer to join the raid simply to keep an eye on his children, though he hadn't decided that far yet.

A sigh left his lips as he heard Dragon's call, one he had been dreading since he'd heard of the raid. Slowly he reacted to it, dragging his paws slightly in silent protest as he joined the group. His expression was tight and his lips were nearly turned down in a scowl, though truthfully that wasn't far off from his usual grimace anyway, so it'd be likely that nobody would notice his discomfort. He settled to his haunches alone, wondering if his wife or children would show up soon.

Dragon's call lifted Jade's attention from her task at hand. She'd been trying to find a way up to one of the floors of one of the castle's side towers, though her efforts were proving fruitless. The stone had caved in all around the castle, making exploration often difficult (but interesting) and today she'd wanted to make her way higher up. Maybe it was dangerous, but wasn't that half the excitement? She'd been perched precariously on the edge of a pile of rubble, using her paws to test the stability as she inched higher up the pile, her attention locked on one particular ledge above that she thought she could leap to.

But her attention was quickly diverted as she heard Dragon's call. It was demanding, though not unkind. Oh! This was about that raid, wasn't it? She hadn't paid much mind to that - she didn't have the best attention span - but she knew Sterling was interested in participating, and being left out didn't sound like much fun to her. Curious, she leapt down off the pile of fallen stone and headed toward the group.

Her tail wagged gleefully behind her as she spotted her dad, moving quickly to rest at his side. She was surprised that so few wolves had come, when the last meeting had been much larger. Jade was also used to being late to meetings, since she was rather... distractable, she figured she should call it... but she wasn't used to everyone else being late. Ah, well. She shrugged a bit to herself, pressing her nose into Steel's shoulder in quiet greeting.

Ramsay, a wanderer and loner in his own way, was far from the meeting place when Dragon called for the pack to gather. He paused in his meanderings with a sigh,
not feeling particularly sociable today - he'd been hoping to avoid contact with others until he felt drawn to seek someone out. Looked like he didn't have much choice in his interactions today. Trying to remind himself that he was looking forward to participating in the raid, he struck out in the direction that Dragon had called from. He could turn his social angst into an anger to be channeled at the target that Talis would choose to invade. However, he was strangely disappointed when he arrived at the meeting to see so few wolves compared with the last time. What was going on?

Seeing no one he felt particularly comfortable sitting near, Ramsay chose himself a secluded space to seat himself away from everyone else, although clearly focused on Dragon. It wasn't that he didn't want to be here, nor was he sulking or being distant on purpose; he wanted to be a part of this pack, and participate in the raid they were planning. He just didn't want to be near anyone.

The woman had been following a curious scent trail when she heard Dragon's call for the pack ring out. Oh no, was this going to be about that raid? She hadn't seen Sterling at all since the girl had taken off on her scouting mission. Was she going to make it to this meeting? Esarosa almost hoped that Sterling was still off on her adventure, staying out of trouble so that she couldn't be a part of this raid. It just seemed dangerous. What about Jade? Was the girl as interested in this raid as her sister was? She had seemed fairly quiet about it so far, but surely she would be interested as many of the young wolves in Talis were. A little nervous, Esarosa sped off toward the meeting place, making note to remember about the prey scent she'd been following. Perhaps she could pursue this scent again, after all, the pack still needed to eat.

When she arrived, she saw her mate and daughter seated beside each other. Glad to see them, she raced over to seat herself beside Steel, not before nuzzling Jade's cheek in greeting. She was unusually quiet as she sat down, looking around at the small gathering. Normally she was more thrilled to be a part of meetings, but today's meeting was not her favourite subject.

She generally wasn't one to be late to meetings. Or anything for that matter. She shook her head, mentally scolding herself for allowing herself to get so lazy. She supposed that retirement had gotten the best of her, and she was finding it hard to find things to do...she often began to question herself if retiring was the right thing to do, and sometimes missed being an alphess. Perhaps one day she might resume the task, but for now, she'd let her son do it. It was a good learning experience for her, and it would be for him as well. The woman hurried to the call, mildly excited and yet also anxious. She knew what this meeting would be about, and she wondered who would go and who would stay. Granted, it wasn't a siege...so they didn't need as many participants, though she hoped there would be a good number of them, at least.

She entered the territory, course set for the front of the castle after Tan informed here where the meeting was taking place. She was proud of her son for taking his first steps and leading them to something she probably couldn't have done, mostly on account that she'd be afraid of turning enemies into friends. But did that matter now? They hadn't had contact with the other packs since they moved here, so she figured Dragon wanted to make a grand entrance into one of them to let them know they existed...at least, that's what she thought he was thinking.

She arrived, ears flicking and amber gaze wandering as she realized there was only a handful of others here. Where was Kharnage? Arke? The others? She hoped they were just running late and not deciding to skip out on the meeting...despite being family, she didn't think that Dragon would be happy if they ignored the call. "Sorry I'm late!" She apologized with a dip of her head before she moved to sit. Waiting then for the others to arrive, and hopefully they would. Her gaze found Gryphon for a moment, though she wasn't sure what he was thinking after their last confrontation, though she couldn't find it in her to hold anything against him. She knew how he was, and she didn't blame him for it.

Confound it all! He'd been far away when he heard his brothers call, well beyond the pack boundaries. He'd been trying to find herbs that were still alive since all the ones nearby seemed to wilt away from the heat, but wasn't having much luck. He managed to find some shriveled up Boneset, but he wasn't sure how effective it would be now. He was beginning to think it was well past its useful stage considering how hot and dry it was, but he'd find out later. Right now, he had to get to the meeting and fast! He darted past the pack boundaries, racing to the castle grounds as quickly as he could. His chest heaved, the male panting as he hurried to get there before they started without him.

Once he arrived, he saw his mother and a few others, though was disappointed to see that not everyone from last time had shown up. Were they purposefully trying to avoid this meeting because of the raid? What would his brother think? He suddenly felt uneasy at what might happen to those who didn't show, but for now he dipped his head to his brother and everyone he passed, vocally greeting them wasn't an option with his mouth full of dried and dirtied herbs. He found a seat nearby, tail curling around his paws as he sat and waited for the others to arrive.

She heard the call, and she was already en route. She had gone just as far as her brother Arke, the girl trying to scout the lands to see what she could bring back home. She was unsuccessful, however, at bringing back anything. A rather large bear had decided he was hungry enough to chase her while she was trying to hunt, so she took off and dared not to look back. She didn't stop running since, even when the bear had decided to stop chasing her after a bit. Her tongue hung from her mouth, paws drumming hard on the ground as she crashed through the dried foliage before her. She just kept running, and didn't stop until she was well within pack lands. Once she realized she was within the safety of Talis, she cursed herself for being so foolish! Of course she should have been more careful out on her own, especially now with the intense competition for water and resources.

She would make sure to try and calm herself before heading to the meeting, and once she was calm, she went. Large paws raised dust as she made her way to meet the others, though when she arrived she was surprised to find that there were less than last time. She was sure it had to do with the raid, but what was wrong in doing that? It wasn't a siege, so it wasn't like it was anything to really fear...right? After all, her brother had said they could prove themselves and move up from the apprentice rank, and that was something she wanted to do! She wasn't doing well in training with her brother, but she also didn't seek him out too much because he was busy, but maybe...maybe if she went, she could prove she could do something other than sit around and almost get eaten by bears! She wanted to prove that she could do something, and who knew...this could be her opportunity.

He was around. But he didn't particularly feel like being one of the first to show to the meeting. He wasn't keen on running into his brother there, but he couldn't avoid him forever, either. He didn't know if he was still mad that Ramsay had even left in the first place, but if he wasn't, he didn't want to admit he was relieved to have him back. He thought him stupid for following their sire, but now he had every opportunity to say "I told you so" whenever he got the chance. Besides, he thought Liar old and incompetent...and he sometimes wished that the others saw that before running off on the wild promise that they'd be royals. He snorted then, nobody got power without working for it. At least, that's what he thought.

He moved at a slow trot towards the meeting, though the closer he got, the more his ears pressed against his skull. He could smell Ramsay there, and despite his annoyance with his brothers choices, he knew they'd have to reconcile...but Greed just wouldn't be the first one to do it. He was that stubborn. He'd wait it out until Ramsay came up first and admitted he was stupid for doing that. But was he just as stubborn? He supposed he'd find out sooner or later. The dual toned male would sit among the crowd, sharp blue eyes focused on their alpha.

Kharnage hadn't been home for very long when Dragon's call rang out. His cinnamon colored brother didn't sound very happy and he found himself relating. The lands in Boreas were far colder and had felt a hell of a lot better than Auster and coming back had put a damper on his mood. He was back struggling to find water and a place to cool off. While Auster typically hadn't been too terrible since they'd moved here, besides the rain and humidity opposed to snow and ice, lately it'd felt like his own personal hell.

He set off towards the meeting finding that he couldn't bring himself to rush to it. It was too damn hot for that. He arrived late, but not late enough to miss the meeting it seemed. Blue eyes scanned those gathered to survey who had arrived so far. The turnout was smaller than their last meeting but things hadn't started yet so maybe more would arrive. His eyes finally settled on Faine and a small smile tugged across his face as he padded over to sit next to her.

"Hey Faine, how are you?"

Afrit was a little jealous she hadn't gotten to go on a scouting mission, but she soon forgot about it. With the plains drying up and the weather being so awful it was easy to focus on other things like finding a good water source that wasn't all dried up. She loved Auster but lately it was proving to be difficult for everyone. She couldn't even begin to imagine how the healers were trying to deal with their herbs drying up.

Dragon's howl caught her attention and her brown covered ears swiveled towards the sound. He sounded a little unhappy which was understandable. He was an alpha of a pack that was struggling at the moment. She wasted no time in heading towards the meeting place, but she was a ways away since he'd called so it took her some time to get there.

She glanced around for a moment to see who all was there before grinning and padding over to Arke. She took noticed of the herbs in his mouth and she glanced at them curiously. Was he having any luck? "How's the herb hunting going?"

She and Nox had been traveling farther and farther to try and find herbs to store before the season got colder, but her travels hadn't been very fruitful. Ever since the plains had dried up and wilted she'd been finding it difficult to find herbs and their territory wasn't the only places effected. It seemed like the entirety of Auster was suffering from the drought and it would only get worse when Spring hit. The backwardness of it was still confusing, but she could only assume it'd get colder and the plants wouldn't have time to grow back this year.

Dragon's howl interrupted her hunt for herbs in the plains. It sounded urgent enough for her to drop what she was doing (it wasn't like she was having much luck anyways) and head to the meeting as fast as she was willing to go. A good amount of wolves had gathered judging by the scents and it took her a minute to get a good idea of where everyone was at before she took a seat near the edge of the group with Nox at her side.

The girl was still quite a distance away when she heard Dragon's call, a faded sound ringing out and barely reaching her ears. Oh shoot! She must have spent more time in Boreas than she was supposed to. Well, she had gotten a little carried away exploring, but still, she'd thought she would have time to get home long before this meeting. She was surprised to be hearing Dragon's call for the pack while she was on her way back home. She picked up her pace, despite the tired resistance in her legs, knowing she still had a long ways to go, but she had to make it there. She would be very disappointed if she was too late for this meeting, and missed out on the raid because of it.

It seemed an eternity before Sterling could finally see the crumbled walls of the castle, the sun having shifted slightly in the sky since she'd heard Dragon's howl. Tapping into her endless well of youthful energy and endurance, the gray-marked she-wolf increased her pace yet again so that dust flew up behind her, her silver-tipped ears flicking in the wind. She carried on until she was upon the gathering, seeing that many wolves had come before her, but Dragon had not started speaking yet. Sighing with relief, she figured she must be just on time. She bounded over to her family, smiling at Jade - Sterling's eyes were glowing with excitement from her adventure, and she hoped to share some of the things she'd seen with her sister. Her tail flicking, she grinned at her parent's as she trotted by, having little to say at the moment as she was panting heavily to catch her breath.

She moved to go sit near the front of the gathering, her tongue lolling as she found a spot to sit that was nearby the starry-coated male where she could see Dragon easily. She plunked into a comfortable seated position, trying to quiet herself as she waited for the meeting to start.

Oracle had been away from Talis at Dragon’s call, only realizing there was even a meeting when Bubo came to fetch her. She broke into a canter, running along the familiar paths of the territory back to where her nephew had called. She had a hunch that this meeting was about the raid Dragon had been planning… and she wasn’t necessarily looking forward to it. While ready to participate Oracle wasn’t exactly one to look to stealing resources from another pack just to survive. It seemed… wrong. But alas what could she do? Refuse her alpha? No, never. Golden eyes shot up towards Bubo as the wolves at the meeting site came into view… almost there.

Once she arrived Oracle hastily flopped down, panting a little, but gaze focused solely on Dragon alone. Bubo settled on the earth beside her, folding his wings before shooting Ora a look. The little lass… even after all this time he was still helping to look out for her. Was she ever really going to grow up?

Fern's ears perked at the call. Excitement bubbled within her at the thought that perhaps this was the call that would begin the raid. Fern stood up from where she'd been laying on her side in the dust and shook her coat before beginning to trot towards where the howl had originated.
Fern wanted to go on the raid, but she had decided that, as a new member, it was too early. It was too soon. If Talis was everything she had hoped, though, there would be more raids in the future. So far Talis had pleaded her. In Fern's mind, raids were an ideal way to gain supplies, as they brought one pack up and another down. This raid was also good for her mentality, she reasoned, as it strengthened her loyalty to the pack.
Fern picked up the pace from a trot to a run, as she realized she was likely late. Her breath ran ragged down her throat, not from the run itself, but from lack of water. The territory had been caught up in a drought, and Fern hadn't been doing much besides lounging around in the forest since the first meeting. She'd even sunk low enough to eating plants to hydrate. Stars, she was thirsty.
To her joy, the castle walls came into view. A wisp of silver, the she-wolf slipped between them, making for the gathering of wolves surrounding Dragon. Silently, she sat behind them, keen golden eyes locked onto her alpha.

He waited for the arrivals, and soon enough a few of them came. Faine was among the first, "Hi Faine, good to see you." He responded. Soon after, Ankaios and, to his surprise, Gryphon, had shown up next. His brother had missed the last meeting, so he wasn't sure if his brother knew what this meeting would be about. Though he also wasn't sure if his brother would speak against it once he found out, but regardless, it would happen. They needed supplies, especially after this summer since the plants were drying up and come next season, it would be even harder. Today they would decide what they would raid for and who the target would be. He had sent out Armai and Sterling, the alpha himself tailing Armai to her destination and Kharnage had tailed Sterling, though Sterling seemed to have better luck in terms of confrontation. Armai on the other hand, had been threatened...and that didn't sit well with him. She had stumbled across the border line, though her scent was free of Talis' and his long before she got there. But the fact that a yearling had threatened a blind healer and an older wolf was disgusting. He didn't think he'd be sending her on a mission like that again unless she wanted to, and if she had gotten hurt he would have kicked himself for it. She was too sweet, too kind, too innocent. And...wait, what was he thinking? He took a deep breath, trying to gather his thoughts as others showed.

Steel and his wife and daughter showed, and Dragon noticed how uneasy Steel and Esarosa looked. He felt kind of bad, but then again it's not like he was going to force them to go. He would have to try and talk to them at some point. It had been a while since he talked to Esarosa, and he wasn't sure if he ever really talked to Steel...man that was a bummer. He liked his pack members, and lack of communication among them was no good. Ramsay showed up and Dragon nodded to him as the other male went to sit down. When he thought that was all that would show, everyone else flooded in. The rest of his family. Greed, Armai, Sterling, and Fern. He was glad to see that she too had made it, but now that everyone was present and accounted for he figured it was time to start.

"Thanks for coming, everyone. Now as most of you know, we discussed a possible raid in the last meeting. So I'm sure you know what this meeting is about." He flicked his tail, green eyes looking over the gathered pack. He was determined to do this, and he hoped some of them would be too. After all, why should they just sit here and do the same thing day in and day out? He didn't think that was really a way to live. Life needed a bit more excitement, and to those who thought otherwise could sit around and do the same things everyday. "I'm sure some of you have noticed the lack of medicine we've had over the course of the season with the drought, and I find the lack of accessible water disturbing. I have found a few places, but some are hazardous or hard to get to considering every other creature is out there trying to get the same precious resource. On top of that, with the coming Spring season in Boreas, meaning our season will get potentially colder and harder, we need to stock up on herbs. Now some of the healers have been having a hard time finding much of anything that isn't already dead, dying, or unusable. And what has been found is very little..." His gaze turned to Arke who held the wilted plants, hoping his point was getting across. "If we don't have medicine, then we'll be in trouble in the coming season." He took a deep breath, mind sorting out the things he wanted to discuss and bring it to a vote or something.

"In the last meeting, I sent out scouts to check out some of the packs in Boreas. Armai and I ended up checking out one in the west, while Kharnage and Sterling went to check out another. I'd like to point out that there is at least one hostile pack, or I assume so." His gaze found Armai, his ears flicking in agitation at the thought. If that kid had hurt her, he would have been obligated to hurt him right back to defend Armai. "One of them threatened her. A blind healer. Now I'm not fond of trespassers, but even I wouldn't go that low." He huffed a bit. "I don't know who it was, but I don't particularly care at the moment. I didn't get close enough to get a scent, but whoever it was is a potential threat. Asides from that, however, it appeared that their lands might hold some valuable medicinal resources. Armai scented them on this male's pelt, so there's no doubt they have something we could use." He had no doubt about that. He wished though, that the garden next door hadn't dried up. That was a prime place for the healers as well as the plains, but with the drought and fires, well...he wasn't sure what else to do.

He waited a moment before continuing, his gaze turning over to Armai then. "Armai, if you have anything to add, please go ahead." He allowed time for her to speak if she so chose, and after his attention would turn to Sterling and Kharnage. "How did your mission go? What information do you have for us?" He waited eagerly for them (Sterling mostly) to tell them their findings, afterwards, he wanted to try and get a pack vote on where to go. "We're going to vote on where to go, but if anyone knows a better option of where to go, please let me know. There wasn't enough volunteers to scout anywhere else, and the only other pack I know of is Abaven, who my mother knows, and Crew...but they might be too far East for us." He tried to think of any other packs, but couldn't think of any others. He had met one wolf from Crew, his mother knew about Abaven, and then the two that had just been scouted. He waited for the others to speak, so that they could come to a decision on where to go, who would go, what they were going for (though the obvious idea was to go for herbs), and anything else.

OOC//Sorry if this post seems scattered/rushed, i'm tired lol. I would prefer Armai & Sterling to post first, then after that everyone else can post with no posting order. I expect 2nd round replies to be done by July 3rd! Mandatory as well. If you need an extension because of July 4th coming up then let me know and we'll try to work something out. PM or Skype me too if you're unable to participate. I'd like to get this rolling asap, mostly because this stuff takes a while and I don't want things dragging out too long. Those who will be participating can just confirm with their char saying something like "I'm in" or w/e. Participants will also get the opportunity to rank up as well!

are painted in black and white

Well from the sounds of it she hadn't been the last to arrive, but close enough to it that she felt uncomfortable. She didn't want to disappoint Dragon at all so she made a mental note not to be as late to the next meeting they had. For now she sat quietly as the last few members trickled in and then the meeting began.

Ears flicked as he mentioned the raid which was what she'd assumed the meeting to be about. They all knew it was coming and honestly she was feeling slightly less nervous about it. She wouldn't be participating in the fighting, but she was worried about the possible injuries the pack would sustain. She wasn't sure how much herbs they had to treat the wounded if they weren't successful in their mission, but they needed the herbs for much more than just after the raid. She liked to be prepared for any possible outcome and sickness was her main concern, especially highly contagious illnesses. Would they be prepared if the majority (or the entire) pack got sick? She didn't think so.

Dragon explained his worries and Armai agreed with it. Finally he explained how their trip had gone to the one back and her ears flattened against her head as she thought about it. She'd still expected hostility upon trespassing but she'd assumed that her being blind would have reserved her a bit more compassion from whoever came her way. Perhaps she expected more wolves like the previous ones she'd come across, ones like Dragon and Rivaxorus, but it reminded her not everyone was as nice. She was just glad to step away from it without any physical harm.

"I did notice another thing. The male who greeted me was not the alpha judging by his scent and no one else arrived when that young wolf called for his pack." Could their alpha not be bothered to chase off a possible threat and what about the rest of the pack? For all they knew she could have been some savage out to kill their young. Even if their alpha was absent why didn't anyone else come when the boy had called for their assistance.

She let her voice die out then to hear what the other female that had gone scouting had to say. Dragon proposed a vote, but options to go other places sounded like a bad idea. Traveling too far in the snows in the north sounded like a waste of energy and at least the snows in the western lands were less severe than farther north. For now though she kept her opinions to herself to see what others had to say before she cast out her vote.

Armai has a female snow leopard companion that goes by the name of Nox. It can be assumed that she is always with Armai unless otherwise stated.
