Spring was now in full bloom and Jackson had begun his normal routine. He was glad that winter was gone and that the animals were returning. He had left the pack lands, deciding that it would be to soon to start fallowing the herd, he wanted them to settle in a bit before he began to fallow their movements. They would be antsy with their return, especially since their young would be born this season. He had decided to make a trip to scout for other potential hunting grounds, and to also explore some. He hadn't been out much all winter so he was curious as to what changed around here and what new things he could discover. He always loved spring because of the nice weather and because Spring meant the winter was gone for now. He also liked to see all the young running around whether it was prey or fellow pack members.

He had just turned four and his life had been decent since he had returned to Fiori. He was getting older and though he was happy with his current situation in life, he felt as though he was missing a big piece in life. With Razor's passing he no longer had any vary close connections in the pack, sure he had his extended family that he was close with, but no one that he could spend a lot of time with and share everything with. He often wondered what become of his other siblings and it depressed him to think that he didn't have a relationship with them. Most of his extended family in the pack were in high ranks and mostly busy so the young man never wanted to bother them, but he was sure he could turn to them if need be.

Moving into the stoned territory the male curiously looked around. It vary faintly smelled of pack, but they were long gone. He had never been to this place and he was eager to see what he could find.

Something felt off ever since her dad left. She was hopeful that he would return soon with good news, but Abaven didn't feel the same without him. She was a daddy's girl, there was no denying that, and even though she still had a few siblings left in the pack and wolves that had been there since she was born... Abaven still felt lonely without her father. She wandered away from the pack's borders for a while, trying to venture off in a direction she hadn't really been before. She had passed through the steppe before, but she hadn't really taken the time to really explore it.

She took this chance to slowly make her way around the crumbling stone structures. Her blue gaze traced over the strange shapes the rocks had taken. It was like the most interesting game of guess the shapes. It reminded her of the time that she and her littermate had laid on their backs by the river and searched the clouds. The memory brought a sad smile to her lips, but she tried to brush it off as she continued on.

A mildly familiar scent caught her attention and pulled her thoughts away from her distant memories. It took her eyes away from the stones as she searched for its owner. Soon enough, as she padded on through the steppe, she spotted the orangey-hued man that she had met on the beach what felt like forever ago. She grinned happily and trotted more quickly to catch up with him, letting out a quick bark to get his attention. "Well well! Long time no see!"

He moved across the land until he came to the left over rock structure. It was a strange sight to see and it made the young male stop and stare for a moment his mind wondering what it had once been. There was endless possibilities of what the stones could have been, but right now they were nothing important. He moved forward, walking right over to the stones and sniffing at them, looking around for something interesting. Again the faint smell of several wolves lingered here, but it had been a while.

It wasn't long before the bark from the other gathered his attention pulling himself from taking in the scents. Looking up then behind him his eyes finally landed on it's owner, the mostly tan female he had met a while ago. His tail wagged as he turned his body to face her. A smile grew on his face at her words and he nodded.

"Yes it has been a long time. How have you been?" he replied, his tail still happily wagging.

He was glad that he was going to have some familiar company, especially when he had enjoyed her company the first time they had met. If he remembered correctly she too thrived in a neighboring Eastern pack and he wondered how they had fared lately.

She gave a nonchalant shrug to his question as she came to a stop a couple of feet away from him. There was a whole list of things that had been bothering her, but she didn't want to dive into all her baggage at the first breath of a reunion.  "I've been better, but still not bad all things considered. Still alive and healthy with food to eat and fun to have." Not a lie. A lot of worries and loneliness getting in the way of the fun part at the moment, but it was hard to deny that she was well taken care of for the most part. Piper kept a smile on her lips and a wag in her tail all the same.

"It's good to see you again, Jackson," she added, her tone and smile a bit more genuine than it had been before. No matter how down she had been feeling, she always enjoyed good company. "How about you? How have you been? How's Fiori doing?" she asked curiously. She settled down onto her haunches as she spoke. She figured they'd at least be chatting for awhile so she might as well get comfortable.
