That Girl

Seraphine was out playing by herself, not wanting to bother Dragneel or bring her siblings out to get cold and sick. She didn't like it but the pup had to play by herself, she was shy and quiet, didn't have the guts to go up to people she didn't know and become their friends. What if they were mean and attacked her? Sera didn't want that to happen.
The youngster stood on a small bump, front end of her body low the ground with her rear wiggling in the air and stump of a tail wiggling about. With a growl she pounced, landing just in front of a small pebble then reaching out a paw and swatting it to the side with a growl.

Another day in Tortuga, more time to himself. Sometimes he wished Desdemona would ask him to go along with her on her diplomatic travels. He was rather curious as to what she did when she went out to other packs, but he supposed he could always ask her whenever she would come back. It wasn't as good as actually going with her, but it was better than nothing. It didn't bother him much that she didn't ask him to go with her. He after all wasn't a man of status and he technically had no business involving himself in the affairs of alphas. So with quiet resignation, the ivory man would sent out his wife, a sweet kiss to her muzzle and a pray to whatever gods existed that they would safeguard her and the pups swelling inside her belly. She was heavy, on the point of giving birth and she was really supposed to be staying home, but he couldn't quell the fierce dedication she had to her pack. He only pray that she would be safe in her travels and the pups would hold off until she was home to grace the world.
Silent ivory paws carried the man through Tortuga, nostrils flaring against the chilled breeze that ruffled his fur. An unfamiliar scent filled his nostrils, peaking his curiosity. Another member. Lately he'd begun to run into more pack members, which was actually a good thing. It was giving him a chance to get to know the rest of his pack. Limbs propelled the porcelain knight, mismatched gaze dancing over the foliage before him, coming to rest on the smaller form of a young pup. By the scent he identified her as female, but as far as who she was, he had absolutely no clue. Slowing his pace, Demonio approached slowly, watching for several moments as the little girl pounced at a rock, apparently lonely in her little game. Stilts folded beneath the man, lowering him to the floor, icy and maroon gems intent on the little one, plume wagging gently behind powerful haunches. Hello little one. He rumbled quietly, wondering what her reaction would be to his presence.

Be gone monster! You are not welcomed here! The pup growled at the rock, standing tall with ears up and stump of a tail held high and wiggling. She tried looking intimidating to the rock, puffing out her fur to appear larger, lips pulled back to reveal her sharp pup teeth. The she pounced once again, pushing herself up onto her hind-legs, front limbs folding in then throwing herself forward. She land atop the rock, laying between her paws, and with a vicious growl, at least to her, she raised a paw and smacked it, sending the small rock skipping across the ground and into some snow.
Hello little one. The new voice caused the pup to jump, whirling around to come face to face with a white adult with different colored eyes. She had lowered herself a bit out of surprise and fear, ears back on her head as she stared at him with wide eyes. He-hello. She stuttered in a high yet shy voice, taking a step back from the man.
The only reason Seraphine didn't bolt was because his scent, he did not have the smell of somebody else, a loner. Mixed into his coat was the smell mama Luce had, which she had explained to her before as their pack scent. He was a friendly wolf then, he wouldn't hurt somebody in his pack, right? We are in the same pack? You smell like mother. She asked, slowly raising her head and body, nose twitching as she took in his scent once again.

The white man hadn't had much interactions with pups in his four years of life, unless his sister counted, but she hadn't been much of a pup. She'd practically been a yearling when everything had happened. But this child here was no yearling. She was only a few months old, somewhere around six if he was taking a guess. She was small, then again most everyone was to him, but she was an interesting little creature. Part of her left ear was missing and she had what appeared to be burn marks on her face, legs and body. She didn't seem aware of her physical differences, happily playing with the rock she'd chosen as her target. He watched in quiet amusement as she pounced towards the rock, swatting at it, growing rather ferociously, -as ferocious as a young pup could manage- telling it to be gone. But then she startled at the sound of his voice, squeaking out a trembling hello before asking him if they were in the same pack because he smelled like her mother. A gentle smile upturned his pale lips, gentle gaze resting on the girl. I'm sorry if I scared you little one. And yes, we are of the same pack. Tortuga is the name. Surely your momma has told you about it?
Not the type of man one could picture with pups, he found himself taking a liking to the young girl. She was rather cute and he could use the practice of interactions with young ones. After all, his wife was due any day now and in about a month or so he would have his own little ones running around, begging for his constant attention

She took a step to the side as the man apologized for scaring, only giving a small dip of her head in acceptance. It was okay, he probably didn't mean to scare her. If he was trying to then he wouldn't have apologized, he would have been mean and try attacking her to scare her even more. He then told her he was from the same pack, Tortuga and asked if her mother brought it up.
Seraphine snorted lightly, of course she knew its name, her mother told her about it. Why else would she ask if he was from it? I know its name mister. She told him finally, holding her head up with ears fully forward and a stubborn look on her face. Mama Luce mentioned it when she found me, and told me a little about it. The pup turned away from him, her gaze shifting over to a new target by his side.
Slowly she lowered herself to the ground, ears forward, eyes locked onto the rock. My name is Seraphine, what's yours? She asked, pausing mid-step for a moment before leaping forward. She landed right beside the male, turning her paw and smacking the rock, sending it flying over the white male with the pup quickly following. She had hopped over him but not with enough strength, she landed right on his back, legs scrambling to climb over and get the rock.

She nodded in acknowledgement, easily accepting her apology. If that one thing about children, it was their ability to easily forgive those around them, their need to hold grudges not yet developed or even acknowledged. If all adults could be like children, then the world would be a very different place for sure. But most weren't, so they had to enjoy children while they could. After all, they didn't stay young and little forever.
She snorted her indifference, audits pointed with attention as a stubborn frown creased her little face. I know its name mister. Mama Luce mentioned it when she found me, and told me a little about it. Luce? That name sounded vaguely familiar. Where had he heard it before? A flashback of his meeting with the smaller russet man Dragneel flashed in his mind. Drangeel had spoke about serving a young child, one that belonged to the woman Luce. Luce. Was this the child he had been referring to the other day? Oh well, I'm sorry for doubting you little miss. My sincere apologies. He chuckled, watching her as her attention wandered to something beside him. Nape craned, mismatched gaze following her line of sight, spotting the rock she had decided to call her prey. She introduced herself as Seraphine, and that's when the light bulb clicked. Seraphine. She was the little girl that Dragneel wanted to serve. Was she aware of what the russet man's intentions were? He assumed that she probably didn't and he wasn't about to ask. It was none of his business anyways.
Nice to meet you Seraphine, my name is Demonio. And then the little girl was swiping at the work like she'd done when he'd first arrived, tossing the inanimate object over his back, her little body following suit. She wasn't quite strong enough yet, so it didn't surprise him when she landed on his back, her small paws scrabbling against his sides as she tried to climb over him to get to her prize. He smiled playfully, turning his body in the direction of the rock, using himself as a type of bridge to allow Seraphine easier passage across him to the rock.

She had been half paying attention to the man while going after her rock, definitely hearing him tell her his name. Demonio, it was kind of weird but she liked it.
She was struggling though to climb over him, and was about to slide off him and go around but is body suddenly turned. With a grin her body slid forward, front paws touching the ground then her back, allowing her to bound forward and smack the rock again, sending it into a small bush. Yeah! You better hide! She growled at it, standing tall with her little tail wiggling and her rear a bit.
I'm going to be a warrior when I am bigger, fight the bad guys and protect mama Luce and my siblings. She said with a determined grin, turning around to look at the man.

She was a cute little thing, even if she didn't exactly look like all the other wolf pups. But perhaps that's what made her so appealing to the larger man. She was different physically, and yet it was like she didn't even notice. He made up his mind that he liked little Seraphine. He could now understand why Dragneel would want to serve the little girl, though he still wouldn't pick that particular type of lifestyle, especially when it involved an innocent and na?ve child. Demonio rolled over onto his side, his massive frame barely making a sound as it touched down against the earth, allowing the little youngster safe passage across him to her rock prey. An amused grin crossed his pale his lips as she lunged at the rock, tossing it away with a swipe of her tiny paw, growling at it, her little rump wiggling in satisfaction. He couldn't wait for his own children to be born now.
Demonio rolled back onto his belly, mismatched gems intent on Seraphine's little figure as she turned towards him, announcing that when she got older she was going to become a warrior to protect her family. He nodded in acknowledgement, finding it a very noble notion from the tiny pup that would want to aspire to be something to honorable. Well you'll be a great warrior little one. I can already see how ferocious you are and that's really good for a warrior. But you'll have to train really hard, you hear? You can't just grow up and be a warrior just like that. You have to work hard. Are you ready to do that? He chuckled, knowing full well that the little girl would be up for anything that had to with her future aspirations.

Her stump of a tail wiggled like mad, thinking about becoming a very tough warrior that others would fear. She show them she was powerful and could protect herself, stand above others but also being able to become friends, to be friendly. She did not want to become a strong and mean wolf, she just didn't like it.
Seraphine's ears stood straight up when he began to speak, head constantly nodding the whole time, understand fully what he was talking about. When he was done she made an excited hop forward, whole body now shaking because of her tail in excitement. Train! I want to train! Can you help me? She barked, taking a few more steps towards him so that she was right there just inches away.
The pup wanted to train, wanted this man to help her become a strong warrior. And unlike other people, Seraphine would actually keep up, she would try hard to do her best.

He hadn't much experience with pups before, but he could see now that they didn't seem to be too much trouble, as long as you kept them occupied and out of trouble. He could only imagine how much of handful his own children would become once they got older and began to wander outside of the den. He only hoped that they would be smart enough to heed the warning from their parents so that the ivory man wouldn't have to be rescuing his young from possibly life-threatening situations.
Train! I want to train! Can you help me? Her excited yip from him back from his musings, pearly audits rotating forward as a gentle smile curled his pale lips. Of course Seraphine. I would be honored to train you. Just tell when you'd like to start and I gladly oblige. White crown was dipped, dark nasals nudging the youngling, a gentle laugh cascading from his jaws, banner like plume wagging in a gentle movement behind his powerful haunches. He had only spent a few minutes with the little child and she was already growing on him. The beauty of children.

Seraphine was incredibly happy when Demonio said he would be honored to train her, whatever that meant, she was sure it meant he would though. He then asked her when she would like to start. The pup just stared at him kind of blankly, when could they start? Should thy start now? Wait a bit so she could tell mama Luce and see if it was okay? Maybe they should wait till tomorrow.
Thinking about it the girl felt a bump on her side, ears perking up at a small laugh. She looked up to the man with a smile, tail and rear wiggling behind her, She was really excited for this.
Could we start now? She asked happily, hopping back then forward. Only if your not busy though of course. She suddenly brought up, some of that excitement turning to calmness, sitting back on her haunches.

He could see the excitement in her little face when he said that he would be glad to train her. But her excitement quickly faded to a blank look when he asked her when she wanted to start. Demonio had plenty of time to spare and there was no rush to start for him. He watched with quiet curiosity as she thought it over before deciding that she wanted to start today, after making sure that he wasn't busy of course. Of course I'm not busy little one. Was there anything you wanted to learn in particular about being a warrior? He hoped that whoever her mother Luce was, wouldn't be mad at him for teaching her daughter the basics of what it took to become a warrior.

ooc: Perhaps end this after your post? xD
Seraphine grinned when Demo said he wasn't busy then asked if there was anything in particular she wanted to learn about becoming a warrior. Her head tilted to the side at this, trying to think what would be important to know about becoming a warrior. Would attacks be more important than protecting yourself? Or maybe she could ask him to show her how to dodge certain attacks.
Giving a small nod of her head the pup took a step towards him, jumping and dropping the front half of her body to the ground. "How about showing me how to dodge attacks?" She asked happily, ears p waiting for his response.

It was kind of interesting to him to think that he would be training a young pup in the art of combat, and especially a she-pup. There was always a first time for everything. As he waited to see what Seraphine's answer would be, he quietly hoped that he would be able to teach her well. No one had taught him to fight. He had kind of just figured it out on his own after he left his homelands; learning by experience. He had the scars to prove that he'd lost his fair share, but it had been those losses that had helped him shape himself into a better warrior. He now only hoped that his experiences would suffice in teaching this little one. He couldn't bare the thought of something happening to her because he had failed to teach her correctly.
Of course I can. But you better be ready to be on your toes. Speed is often times the deciding factor when using a dodge. He smiled at her, pale limbs unscrambling from beneath him as he hoisted himself, shaking the dirt from his pelt in preparation. This was going to be a long day. He could feel it already.
