She'd gone out on a night time venture, something she normally didn't do. Usually she was out and about at night, simply because the moonlight wasn't harsh on her like the sun was, but never beyond pack lands. Tonight though, she felt...troubled. She wasn't sure why, but she hadn't been feeling all that well since the season started, and little did she know that she was experiencing her first heat. She hadn't gone to her mom to ask what might be wrong, she just assumed that maybe the sudden dryness of the season had something to do with it, but whatever it was, it made her feel icky. Her wandering led her to the nearby cove. It wasn't the closest beach to home, but it wasn't terribly far either. The sound of the tide batting at the shore sounded soothing, and she could watch the creatures of the night as well. As she neared the cove, the sand felt cool beneath her paws, but it seemed she wasn't entirely alone. Not only could she hear the sound of the water and whatever other things lurked, she heard the steady clicking and clacking of something she'd never heard before. Curious blue eyes wandered across the tidepools until she spotted movement, and her gaze widened as she saw lots of hermit crabs scuttling around on the rocks.

The girl now at her full height, felt like a giant puppy with the wonder she felt at seeing so many crabs moving about. So many in fact, that most of the sound she heard wasn't the water, but rather the crabs movements. "There's so many!" She breathed, the moonlight casting its glow upon the ground and illuminating everything in a ghostly light. She decided to settle down on her belly, momentarily forgetting why she had come out here as she watched the little crustaceans go about their nightly business.

Why he didn't just go straight back up to Boreas was beyond him. It would have been a lot easier, that way, and probably a bit safer too - he didn't want to have to pass by Talis pack lands on the way up. With where he was now, though, there was likely no choice in the matter. Still, though, it was nice out here. Well, depending on where you went. It was mildly unbearable during the day regardless, though, due to the hot sun. And yet, it was winter in Boreas. Snow, ice, and a lack of prey due to that. Here it was hot, dry, and a lack of prey due to that. Not much difference between the lands, really, with what the effects caused by the seasons were.

Sighing, Lykos stretched out. Free? Was he happy? Yes. But at the same time, he was still... nothing really changed. Still felt dead inside. Still had no purpose. Still was just surviving. Still didn't care. He was aware of all of it, and yet, didn't care. There was really nothing for him to... care about.

The scent of another made his nose twitch and disrupted his thoughts. Quickly, his head turned towards the source to see a... large, glowing wolf. Wait, no that was just the moon. Heaving a sigh, he looked away, his nose wrinkling again at the incredibly strong heat scent mixed with the scent of Talis and his family. Ugh, no thanks. It took him only a few minutes to remember what wolf could possibly have that combination of scents - and also be of his family. The... albino wolf who's name he didn't remember. Well, he didn't really care. He wasn't going to willlingly interact with her.

Huffing quietly, he laid his head back down on his paws, determined to ignore this wolf.
