The one good thing about living in this pack now was the fact that she hadn't done any exploring in these lands yet. It gave her plenty to do and look forward to in her first few weeks here in Fiori. She was happy to be reunited with her sister and she was excited to learn how to be in a pack and how it all worked... but she couldn't deny that the wonderlust under her feet was itching at her. At least the winter was pretty mild here and she didn't have to worry about dealing with a bunch of snow. Warm weather was much more her style.

She padded through the mangroves, making a game of finding each of the raised tree roots through the snow and walking on them like stepping stones. Her tail flicked back and forth behind her to act like a counter balance while her toes splayed around the root to help her stay on them. It was easy to see why Leo kept Fiori here. It was a beautiful place. She was looking forward to seeing all of the trees dripping with vibrant green leaves once spring was fully back in effect on these lands.

Amaia supposed she should go help hunt seeing how it was winter and food would be at a premium. Or maybe she could go introduce herself to the lead hunter. That all just sounded so boring though. Not so much the meeting new wolves part, but the working and completing tasks part. Really she just wanted to go find her sister and make her play a game with her like they used to when they were younger, but Carletta had a job to do now and she had Leo to spend time with. Amaia would never admit it to Car, but she was a little bit jealous that her sister had a... suitor perhaps? She didn't know if they were mates just yet and she didn't want to assume anything until Carletta told her for sure. She could see it in Leo's eyes when he looked at Carletta though. Amaia sighed wistfully and continued her little game. Perhaps one day.

ooc;// before he got promoted, so he refers to himself as a squire :3

Archelaus was on patrol, yet again.. it seemed all the squires were. He strayed a bit further out from their territory borders every now and then, just to check for anything nearby.. until, of course, he came to the border of Dragoste- to which he would remain in their own territory respectfully. He was happy to help with more perimeter checking due to the fact that it was likely his own laziness in the first place that led to intruders. He understood the importance of their roles here in Fiori, and he had promised Leo he'd fulfill the duties asked of him.. yet... there was only one problem.

The mundane task of walking in circles all day was incredibly boring. He did it to guarantee the protection of his family, and to return the favor to his mother for keeping up with it for so long while he simply lazed around the packland. The continuous work still took some getting adjusted to.

His ears were sensitive to every little break in the silence outside of his own breathing and walking, even the robins that had returned home for the coming spring set him off into becoming incredibly alert. Robins. Archelaus sighed as he continued, stepping over every root he came across without even needing to glance. He knew this routine by now, that was for sure- so his attention was mainly scanning through every hibernating tree and shrub for something that looked out of place.

For as laid back as Archelaus was, he still craved some excitement every now and then. He hoped to run into something else on his walk, though it was a good sign that their constant patrol was keeping away intruders successfully. When he came across her, she instantly piqued his interest.. making him come alive. His relaxed way of walking instantly tensed up a bit as he stood taller, his tail swaying absent-mindedly and slowly behind him while his dark paws moved across the roots so that he could make his way to her. He'd seen her sister once before, and the only reason he assumed they were sisters was because he had never in his life seen such markings on another wolf.

Not to say anyone was better than anyone else for any reason, he still found himself admiring the beauty in this sister as opposed to the other. Her markings were so vivid, and the way she stood independently away from the rest of the pack.. like all she needed was her own company? Well, Archelaus knew that feeling. He furrowed his 'brows and reminded himself not to assume too much before meeting her, but it was hard.. she was beautiful and he was already going over the different possibilities of what she could like. Especially.. what she might like in her men. Well, there was no denying it from himself now was there? With thoughts like that, it was quite obvious to him that this nameless woman had his attention.

It had been so long since he'd even tried to flirt with another woman, though. It was long before he returned to Fiori this last time. Things ended badly, but that was part of life wasn't it? Everyone went through break ups. Was still difficult, but not impossible, to kick the insecurity that comes with being left for another man. He may have a plain coat, but he had muscles, height and wit. After a bit of self-pepping he let a smile curve his lips as he neared her. "I reallyyy hope you are a part of the pack, because I reallyyy don't want to tell you to leave. You and your sister live here, right?" He hoped for confirmation, but he was already pretty certain, "I'm Archelaus.. one of the squires of Fiori, and I do not believe we have met."

The voice that found her ears made her stop mid step with just her forepaws and one back paw still holding her up in a balancing act on the raised roots. Her head turned toward the sound with her ears perked toward him with interest. Although the words that he said were mildly mysterious to her, the baritone nature of his voice was lovely. Even though his coat was much more simple than her own, Amaia thought there was a certain handsomeness to it. The simple markings let his strength and stature shine which was really what Amaia was impressed with anyway. It seemed like a divine stroke of fate that she would have been considering her sister's love life and her own just moments before this handsome man would walk up to her to introduce himself. She wasn't one to believe in coincidences, but it was a tad more than uncanny.

She understood the general notion of what he was saying to her, though the bit of flirting he slipped in there almost passed her by. She made herself take a moment to process the words again and when she did she grinned and giggled softly as she hopped down onto the level ground again. Amaia nodded, replying, "Si, vivo aquĆ. Carletta es mi hermana," she rattled off before she could stop herself. She gave a little shake of her head and corrected herself, saying, "Carletta is... how you say... is my sister." She grinned and tried to shake off how badly she felt that her common tongue was so rusty. When she and Carletta and been traveling together she had used it more frequently, but since she had been keeping to herself she hadn't had the chance to keep it in practice. She certainly hoped this man didn't mind.

"I am Amaia," she replied as he introduced himself. "Happy to meet you, Archelaus." Her tail wagged gently behind her as she spoke. "I am... baronet? A hunter?" She wasn't entirely sure what a squire was, but if she had to guess from looking at him she had to assume it meant he was a fighter. The only reason she knew her own title and job was because her sister had explained it to her. "I only live here short time. Carletta live here first and I come too." It was almost a bit frustrating that she had to try so hard to communicate with him. She liked to think that eventually she would learn the common tongue more fluently, but at the same time that made her sad. She liked her language and the reminder it gave her of their parents and family back home. It was something she would always have with her she supposed even if she didn't use it every day.
