The girl had never been to the East before, but with the coming of spring, she craved something different than the unending and dismal white cover of the North. She wanted to see all the colours of the world, and she knew those were limited in the place she'd been born. Here in the East, things had already proven very interesting and different. Now she'd come across these hot pools of water. While she had seen different forms of hot water in the North, they hadn't been approachable or safe to enter. This was different. She grinned in amusement to herself as she dipped her paw in one of the pools, feeling the warmth but not feeling scalded. Why, she could almost jump right in if she fancied it; and she could come out soaking wet and not freeze to death, too. She was tempted, and thought she might just do it.

But before she could make a dive into the steaming pool of water, she spotted a large, dark figure through the steam. So far she couldn't recognize it - she didn't think it was Mara - but then again, she couldn't really see clearly. "Hey!" she barked, nails digging into the stone surrounding the water, "Who's there!?" Her silver, emerald-specked gaze was narrowed as she peered through the mist, waiting to see if the wolf would show themselves. If not, she intended on going to them.

Blue had taken a trip outside of pack territory today, but not far from it. These springs just so happened to once be apart of Fiori before Blue's time. He just needed out for a bit to gather his thoughts. He had work to do if he stayed in Fiori, but he still was uncertain. So much has happened to make the pack lands a bad memory and it was not the packs fault at all. He could not get past the horrendous death his parents had nor could he get past the abandonment or disappearance of his sisters. He fought with himself about his sisters whether they simply left him in the dust or simply disappeared.

Today was one of those days that he was mentally and emotionally struggling. Part of him wanted to hunt Carletta down, one of the members who had actually been trying to help him out. The other part of him just wanted to slip away from the things that were familiar to him. He had struggled with what to do and finally settled on slipping away. He had been as the springs for a while submersing himself in the water to ease his muscles. He hadn't even paid attention enough to hear the stranger enter.

When she barked out he froze and instantly tensed unsure whether this female was friend or foe. He hadn't met any outside of his pack and really hadn't even done much socializing at all. Though he was caught with no chance of slipping away without noticed he had to face this female even if he didn't like it. Moving out of the water he turned and moved over to the female to the point where he could clearly see her and she could clearly see him. Eyes looked her over, she was young around his age and easy on the eyes. Dual gaze looked to her eyes where he noticed a familiar white patch over the one eye and his brows furrowed. Fiori hunter had the same markings which made him a little curious of her.

As she waited, wondering if she should just make the first move and go to the other wolf, it became apparent that the other was indeed coming to her. Obviously he didn't want to get away, although he was oddly quiet as he approached, not a word slipping past his lips. She shrugged to herself, examining his large frame, noticing that he appeared to be about her age, although he was much, much taller than she was. Interesting. She was somewhat jealous of his stature, but she knew her height and light structure was not something she could change. She'd just have to accept herself as she was, although she wasn't sure the feelings of envy would ever leave. As she scented the air, she noticed a pack scent upon him, and wondered where he was from.

"Cat got your tongue?" she asked, poking fun at his silence and seemingly quiet nature, "I can tell you're from a pack, but this place isn't your home. Where do you come from?" It was a simple way to get introduced, and her gray ears perked forward as she listened for his response. She leaned in, assuming his voice was going to be rather soft with how quiet he'd been so far.

Brows furrowed more as she poked fun of him, unsure how to act with her comment. He wasn't even sure he knew that her comment was simply poking fun of him or not. His tongue was still in his mouth, that he was positive about. She soon went on stating that she knew he was from a pack and asking where he had come from.

"Just east of here, a pack called Fiori" he replied his tone loud enough to here and his vocals deep.

She didn't smell of pack, though would she really be traveling alone at her age? He shouldn't really think that way since he himself was alone despite being in a pack. He had no family left and he was the same age. If he hadn't been born in Fiori then he would be wondering alone.

"I've never seen you around before," he stated.

Watching him carefully but subtly as she glanced between him and the many hot pools surrounding them, she noticed his brows furrow. He didn't seem amused by her comment meant to poke fun, but she couldn't exactly tell what he was thinking. His expression was not very telling, except to say 'not amused'. Whether he was angry, hurt or confused was beyond her. However, he did answer her question without any reluctance, and she mimicked the name of the pack he'd mentioned, letting the name roll off her tongue softly. So, there was a pack in the East called Fiori, huh? She'd never heard of it. But then again, there was much she hadn't heard of, since she'd spent so much time alone after her family split apart and the pack she'd been born to was disbanded.

His next statement caused her to grin slightly and exaggeratedly roll her silver eyes. "Well, duh!" she said with a huff, white-tipped tail flicking from one side to the other, "That's because I've never been around here before. I come from the North; it's my first time so far east." She knew she was being insensitive. Was she going too far? In a way, she didn't care, but something told her to ease up a little bit. Sighing, she padded a little closer and looked up at him, seating herself in front of the tall boy. "Sorry if I'm a little cranky," she said, although she knew she was lying - she'd poked fun at him and gave him a hard time on purpose, "I haven't eaten or slept in a while." That part was true. She'd only gotten a few hours of shut eye, startled awake from a nightmare and plunged into the loneliness of her day-to-day life.

After her apology, she stood again and moved toward the edge of the pool she'd been near, reaching out a paw once more toward the warm water's lightly churning surface. As she played around with it, she looked to the boy again. "My name is Saffron," she introduced herself, "Like I said, I'm from the North... the pack I was born in is long gone, though, so I've been on my own for quite some time." Her green-specked eyes searched his duo-toned gaze, curious about him for some reason, wanting to get to know him a little bit, to perhaps find out why he seemed so quiet. Though not all wolves liked to talk a lot, she would wait for him to speak, gray ears flicking in his direction.
