Where The Lights Touch The Earth
"The spirits will be pleased." Kimahri padded alongside the earthen male, receiving a nod from the canine. "Uh huh!" The alpha carried an offering in his jaws for the spirits he believed to live in the water. The first time he had come here was when he met Valdis, and she too seemed to believe in Spirits. Though she also believed they'd be angry if not given an offering, so he brought them a dik-dik from Talis lands to give them. They were tasty little things, so he hoped the spirits would like it enough.
Day gave way to nightfall, the sky turning purple and blue as the sun started to hide. Dragon waited until the sky turned completely dark, when the stars came out and the moon was high. Kimahri sat on the sand, green eyes glittering in the darkness. "It's a nice night, I'm sure the Spirits will be strong tonight." Dragon gazed out over the water, and after a few moments stepped into the shallows. As he trailed further in, the water lit up and glowed a blueish-green hue. He felt nervous, but he was in the presence of Spirits, after all. Or so he was starting to believe anyway. Carefully, he released his offering into the water, watching as the shallow waves lapped at the dead creature. Taking a deep breath, he began to speak. "Spirits, I've come with an offering in exchange for strength and guidance for the pack. Things...have been rocky...so I call on you for help..." He turned towards the direction of the pack, a sigh escaping his lips. "...Help me reconnect with my brothers..." Deep down, he hated the positions he put two of them in, and he had no clue what to do to try and fix it. Suppressing another sigh, he looked back out over the water, one last request. "Please protect us and lend us your strength for the coming battle. We're desperate for supplies. Ah, thank you for...for uh, listening." |

CAORA FLURA Caora's tail flicked happily from side to side as she sat with delicate marigold petals placed on bug bitees everywhere she could reach. It had been a few days since she had fallen asleep beside a river and had awoken covered in bugs. The not-so-distant memory still made her skin call. She's been applying the gold petals on the bites since she'd gone foraging at the God's Garden two days previous and she imagined she looked quite ridiculous at the moment. She felt a pang at the thought that she had no one left to laugh about it with. From where she was sitting she had a good view of the coast as the sun set in a fiery blaze. She wasn't far from the shore at all, and as much as she loved the sea her previous visit to the waterside had left her bug-bitten. Now, however, as darkness took over Caora watched in rapt fascination at the magic in front of her. A figure, no wait, two figure walked across the water. That by itself isn't that amazing, even though Caora felt a spark at seeing another wolf, no the awesome thing was what was happening at their feet. The water that the pair walked through glowed suddenly and beautifully. Caora stood, pink and blue eyes wide and didn't even notice as her petals dropped to the ground around her. She had to know what was up with this water. Was it the two walking making the water burst alive in green or just the water itself? She'd know soon enough as she quickly made her way down to the shore. As she got closer, Caora realised that the other figure with the wolf was a cat of some sort. Maybe a jaguar? Caora had met another big cat who had looked similar as a pup and and never forgotten. She could hear the wolf speaking, his deep voice carried on the ocean breeze but couldn't make out what he was saying. She didn't want to interrupt the pair, but she was even more curious about the unearthly glow now she could truly see it. The she-wolf walked forwards slowly and gasped as the water glowed when the wave crashed against the sand. She waded in and watched in wonder as her steps left swirling lines of glow behind her. She'd never seen anything like it. "Wow..." she breathed, grinning as she looked all around her feet. |
