CAORA FLURA The monochrome wolf had gladly left the waterfall and swelling river far behind her. Although at first seeing so much water after so long without rain had eased something in her chest. The wolf had much enjoyed having a quick swim and a chance to dry off leisurely on the riverbank. In her joy she had forgotten about the most annoying thing about rivers. The bugs. After only half a day spent at the waterside Caora had countless bug bites littering her body. Even now that she'd left the miserable waterside she still felt as if she could feel the little buggers crawling all over her and she couldn't stop flicking her ears to ward away the phantom midgies. She remembered Lorell teaching her about a flower that liked to grow in Auster. She'd seen it only a few times before but she knew it to be a bright gold flower with tons of small petals. Lorell had shown her a clump of it as it grew in the shadow of a cliff where the soil it liked was kept moist. Now Caora was at a peculiar cleared area just beyond the woods. Around her paws countless herbs tangled, too many to even think about identifying them. She knew what she was looking for anyway. The marigold flowers she was looking for could be applied to bug bites to relieve the itch. Wandering further into the centre of the garden, Caora kept her eyes peeled and to the ground. |

Navigation: God's Garden
The season was much cooler here in Auster than the one previous.
The seasons were reversed in the southern continent, and winter had been unimaginably hot and dry. The fires from the drought season had torn dangerously through wooded lands and destroyed many herb supplies, while blocking pathways to precious water sources. However, they had subsided now with the coming of rain, and it had restored some of the foliage, but much of it was dead for the season, and would only grow new shoots in the fall. It was the very reason Talis had raided Celestial in a forceful attack to try to gain resources that they had desperately needed. And it was why Sterling wandered the gardens with scabbed wounds upon her body. She didn't know what she'd do if she even found any herbs - she had no idea which kind would be useful for treating wounds or reducing pain. She'd received some treatment, but her wounds were still bothering her.
As she trotted through the beds of flowers and herbs, many wilted and brown, she knew she was wasting her time. Well, at least if she was looking for any plants. She'd never be able to identify the plants she'd need. Shrugging to herself, she continued wandering, until she spotted a curious, white and black-mottled wolf ahead, who seemed to be nosing around the herbs. Sterling had never seen the wolf before, and she knew from meeting strangers previously that there was almost something interesting to be discovered in meeting new wolves. So, she bounded forward until she was closer to the stranger. "Hey there!" she called out as she neared, discovering by scent that the wolf was a she, "What're you looking for?" She stopped several feet away from the lady, waving her tail in the air as she greeted the stranger, admiring the lady's coat markings while she waited to see how she'd respond.

CAORA FLURA Carefully placing her paws between the tangle of herbs, Caora kept her eyes plastered to the ground. She'd noticed the tall rocks that bordered the area along with the all the dried out herbs browning the earth. She could be hard-pressed to find the marigold she wanted. Caora hadn't been looking long at all when the noise of someone approaching made her lift her head. A wolf was bouncing towards her and for a moment Caora was stunned. It had been a while since she'd met anyone else, never mind a female her own age. The wolf called out a greeting. "What're you looking for?" Smiling, Caora took a step towards the she-wolf and noticed the lacerations on her grey fur. Had she been in a fight? They weren't bleeding or look to be infected to Caora let it go to answer her. "I'm just looking for some marigold flowers. I've got bug bites itching like mad. How 'bout you?" she replied with a grin. |
