It was early in the morning and Frost was already awake. He hated to leave the warm embrace of his new mate, Stardust, but he had to keep up with his routine. There would be plenty of time to spend with her. He wanted to keep up with his routine to keep himself fit. He wanted to continue to do his best at being a hunter for this pack and to continue to provide. The pack had been quiet, but Frost wasn't to bothered by it, he had seen and heard activity so he knew everyone was still around. He looked back to the den entrance before smiling and stretching out his long and tall form, waking up his muscles and preparing himself for his morning run.

After his stretch he started off at a walk, then eased into a trot, easing his body until he was in a full blown run. Taking off across the territory and heading towards the border. His long stride making it so much easier to cover ground quicker to get to the border, turn left, and began to run along side the border. Obstacles were either jumped over, or detoured around as he worked to get his body into full blown exercise, to give himself a work out to help strengthen himself. His run lasted for a while pushing himself further then he had the day before and when he was done he headed back towards where there was a water source in the territory.

Reaching the water source the panting male took a long drink. Once he felt he had enough he backed up into the grass and settled down, panting and trying to get himself calmed down.

It was beginning to become routine for the young male to feel rather confused at lost. At least while he'd been tailing his mother he knew what he was supposed to be doing. She'd shown him how to do patrols and how to react to intruders. She'd also instructed him to the best hunting paths to take and yet there were things he didn't know how to do. Like what to do if he had to call a pack meeting, or what if there was a crisis he had to take care of, or what if another pack invaded. There were so many "what if's" running through his head that he didn't know how to handle. Some of them were just paranoid thoughts that probably wouldn't ever happen, but they were there nonetheless. Most of all he was just upset that his mother had left him in charge, with not enough training, while she left to go find his cousins. He understood her motives, but surely there was someone better equipped for the job than him?

He'd finally finished his patrol for the morning after letting his head wander on far too many occasions. Long legs carried him towards the lake in the willows and another scent surprised him. Frostbite's was one he easily recognized by now, but Stardust's scent mingled in with it intrigued him. They must have been spending more time together. Good for them! He trailed after the older male's scent and found the other wolf resting in the grass clearly cooling off after some kind of workout.

"Good morning Frost. Did you go on a run this morning?" He asked curiously as he flashed him a welcoming smile.

He wasn't alone for vary long, but it had been long enough that he was able to calm down his panting. He wasn't aware of anyone else up and out at this time. He didn't see Rory at first, but he could hear the boy approach. Then the younger male spoke and Frost smiled and nodded his head. He noted how tall he was growing, surely he would get some good height from his father and he was beginning to show signs of springing into adult hood.

"Good morning to you as well and yes my morning run. I try to every morning to keep myself in shape" he replied his tail gently thumping the ground. "And you? Out patrolling this morning?"

Frost knew that the younger male was the heir so he could only assume that Ruadhri practiced what his mother would do. He wasn't sure how far his training was, but he was sure he would be old enough for patrols. Then again they had wolves his age disappear from the pack which was worrying. It almost made him hope that Faite or another pack member wasn't to far and would be there to back him up if trouble arose.

Rory's ears flicked forward as Frost noticed his presence. Once it seemed as though the other male didn't mind his company Rory took a seat not too far away and was happy with the idea of some company. The frosted colored male wasn't one Rory had gotten to know very well past a few meetings and seeing him around the pack. The male seemed friendly enough though and his mother liked him well enough. Well actually she liked most wolves and he could remember only a few stories where she'd had any hostile encounters. He remembered quite well the one story of the male who'd she fought with at the borders soon after Lirim had taken up residence in the valley. Other than a few intruders she seemed to get along quite well with mostly anybody.

"Yeah I'm trying to keep up with marking the borders since my mom has been ... preoccupied." He answered quickly. Preoccupied probably wasn't the best way to describe his mother's absence, but surely others must have noticed by now. He still felt a slight tinge of nervousness in his gut. He was worried about her running off to find Jewell and his cousins. He was well aware she could take care of herself, but he couldn't help but feel anxious about it.

Ah yes Faite's scent had been getting somewhat stale, but Rory's scent had been strong at the borders and before Frost had never thought much about it. Though now the boy mentioned her being preoccupied it made him think about when he was out hunting. Faite's scent had been pretty stale throughout the territory which made him wonder what she had been up to. A meeting hasn't been called in a while which was probably part of the reason the pack was so quiet. Frost nodded his head to the younger male's words he didn't go into detail about his mother. Should Frost try and push for some information?? Maybe the younger male would break on his own and end up telling him without any pushing. Frost wasn't sure and he didn't know whether to push the boy or not.

"Ah well it's a good thing to keep up with them. How are you liking your training so far?" he said.

He decided to remain casual and to not push Rory for information. If something was going on he would tell the pack when he felt ready to. He was make sure the members are aware of things. Frost was sure that would have been one of the first things Faite taught her son, but Frost wasn't Faite so there was no way to know for sure.

Rory couldn't help but wonder what was going on in the other male's minds. Surely everyone had noticed his mother's absence, but what did they think of it? How would they react when he finally told them where she'd went? It was worries he couldn't quite seem to shake from his head though, judging from Frost's expression, the other male had already noticed that she wasn't around. He didn't seem too perturbed by it though and Rory's ears flicked forward at Frost's words. So far he seemed rather casual about the entire thing. Maybe the rest of the pack wouldn't mind so much either? It wasn't as though she'd abandoned them all. Of course it would seem like it up until the point he actually held a meeting. He wasn't looking forward to calling one for the very first time.

"My training was going well for a while." Faite had done a good job of teaching him the basics of fighting and his father was helpful in that regard as well. Past that she'd taught him diplomacy, how to handle the borders, and what to do in the case of a new comer or an intruder. "Up until recently that is. Mom went off to find my two missing cousins and Jewell since she recently disappeared. She left me in charge while she's gone and I feel pretty under prepared." He admitted. It was one thing to learn it, but another thing to be thrust into it after a half of year of practice.
