He had followed the winding river searching for...What? A sign from Ley?   Something he could eat? Or perhaps he was simply searching for the boy. They had separated not long after landing on this foreign continent, one that apparently lived outside the reach of Bromos, ,Parth and Eclya and their various forms of governmental ruling. He still hadn’t quite decided whether it would have been a blessing or not for the boy to have died shortly after their exile, on one side he had been stripped of his title, birthright, and home but on the other the boy was his family, bastard or not and in some regard, he did love him for that. He shook his head and pushed on, the cream of his coat standing out even in the darkness of the night. He approached the lake the river seemed to feed into and drank from the calm and quiet pool in silence.

He raised his head to find that he had been surrounded by fireflies having been far too focused on his troubled thoughts to notice them before. He let out a hearty chuckle. “Just how many of you are nymphs I wonder?” He asked aloud as if the fireflies would somehow answer. He felt an immediate pang of heartbreak at that, realizing that the boy wasn’t around to hear the stories of the fae folk who lived among the butterflies and the nymphs who lived among the fireflies granting wishes to good pups. He gave a small “Hm.” And sank to his haunches, his focus once again lost in troubled thoughts. He supposed the boy had been a good pup, or at least an innocent one, his father- his real father had been the adulterer and his mother was the one who demanded the boy be given a title as the rightful heir. She had been killed, and Yale had been assigned the blame rather than his brother, but the boy himself had done nothing wrong, and didn’t deserve the fate he had been given or whatever end he might have met with.

Asha felt freer than she had in a long time which worked out best for her. Of course it was her own fault Abaven hadn't worked out. She hadn't really socialized with anyone and if anything she found that pack life wasn't her favorite thing. She tended to have a one track mind and doing her own thing and causing fun mischief where she could was definitely on the agenda. Maybe she'd just convinced herself a pack wouldn't work because of what had happened to the child when she was a part of the west wind pack. He hadn't died, but her banishment was still fresh in her mind as if it had happened yesterday. Either way it was a hard thing to forget.

Being able to explore the lands where and when she pleased was probably the best part about all of it. She had little care as to the fact she was aging and settling down had never been a thought in her mind. Pups were still something she adored, but procreation wasn't her only desire. She tended to be selfish and put her own whims and desires above finding a family. She had the "if it happens it happens" lifestyle and was content with it for the time being. Besides, who could settle down in one spot when there were so many amazing things to discover?

It was rather late when she came to the lake and it took only a glance for her to admit that this was probably the perfect spot for her to spend the night. She began looking around for a spot to set up a temporary bed when a male's words caught her attention. What the hell was a nymph? She spotted him easily enough, he was surrounded by fireflies after all, and boldly padded over to him with a soft grin on her face.

"What's a nymph?" She asked him curiously as she came to stand a few feet away.

He snapped from his musings immediately and for a brief moment swore he had heard Dagan’s voice.  He turned his head, wild eyed but instead of the small brunet pup he found a girl. To him she looked like column of smoke made living; swirling greys and blacks with flecks ashes carried senselessly by the wind. He kept his thoughts to himself of course, in Bromos such observations made without the intention of courtship were considered rude.

He cleared his throat, swallowing the shock of seeing the girl and preparing to address her question. “They’re wolves the size of bugs. They have wings like dragonflies but no tails or ears.” He explained. To a pup Nymphs might have sounded like fantastical creatures but saying it to another adult, particularly one older than himself made him feel foolish. He looked away, embarrassed and cleared his throat again, if only to break the awkward silence he could feel brewing between them. “Sorry, I thought I was alone.” He grumbled, his deep voice like distant but irritable thunder.

Asha relished in the surprise that clearly overtook the male. She politely gave him a moment to compose himself and grinned to herself as silver eyes roamed over the brute. he was different than most males she'd seen. Granted he wasn't as colorful as some she'd seen and overall he was pretty normal looking, but the curly fur and the little beard thing he had going on was cute. She looked him over shamelessly as she judged the younger wolf. Overall his appearance was rather pleasing.

Ashen ears flicked forward in anticipation as he cleared his throat before explaining what a nymph was. Her head cocked to the side as she glanced slyly towards the lightning bugs in the area to try and see if any of them looked as he described. It was an odd thought to think there could be a creature she'd never heard about hiding among the common little bugs she saw all the time in the summer, but then again they were tiny. Maybe she'd just never looked hard enough.

Her attention snapped back towards the male and she grinned at him when he mentioned that he thought he'd been alone. She couldn't stop the feeling of pride that swelled within her chest when she thought of her sneaking skills. It was great the sneak up on young pups, but it was an even better feeling when she could get the best of an adult.

"I have that effect on others." She said with a soft and unapologetic smile. "I'm Asha."

OOC Note: Set before Philomena is kidnapped

“It is a pleasure to meet you Asha, I am Yale Beaufort.” He said with a polite tip of his head. He restrained himself from giving his various titles, after all the name Beaufort meant nothing here and he had every reason to believe “First legionary” would mean even less.

“What brings you out here so late?” He asked, his tail curling around his paws to make himself more comfortable. He wondered how far he had walked from Dragoste’s borders and if either Ganta or Roza would notice his absence. He supposed not, the two had their paws full with their newborn litter and running their newly formed pack. He hadn’t made himself known to anyone else in Dragoste so there was little chance they would notice his absence as well.

The girl smelled of a pack but only faintly as if she had recently departed from it. He wondered what would cause a wolf to leave the safety of a pack and if perhaps he should be worried that the girl was a criminal but she didn’t smell of blood or anything else that would indicate she was fleeing justice.
