Reckless & Relentless

The newly christened yearling had no qualms with escaping out from underneath the watchful eye of his mother. Every day he tried to wander farther and farther away from his siblings and Aures to satiate the every growing need to wander. He felt no shame in slipping off either. His siblings were boringly quiet and offered nothing in terms of knowledge for the growing youngster. There were times Aures would teach them something useful, but those moments didn't happen enough for the gray and tan colored boy. He wanted to see more, he wanted to do more, and he knew full well that there was more out there for him to observe. He wanted to see and experience it all and he couldn't do that when hindered by his family.
There was always the intention to return of course. The familial bond wouldn't be broken no matter how much he detested being tied down to one spot. More and more he felt himself thinking back to the day they'd encountered that one large male that he now realized had probably been his birth father. The words "they're cursed" played over and over in his head, but what exactly had he meant by that? Considering how pissed off their mother had been to see the man ... well he hadn't brought himself to upset her by asking any questions about him. He was insanely curious, unhealthily so, to learn more about him and a small part of him wished to run into him once again without the company of his brothers or mother.
He'd slipped off early in the morning without letting his family know where he'd wandered off to. He made no move to cover his tracks just in case they noticed he was missing later. At the very least they'd be able to track him down. Mostly he just wanted to be alone so he could explore more. So he wandered until he reached a beach and spotted the island in the distance. After crimson eyes settled on it it took him only a few seconds to head to the water and after that he didn't stop until he was on the beach of the island.
Rough paw pads squished in the sand and the boy shook himself of before looking around him curiously. Vermilion gaze followed a pair of white doves as they flew to a nearby tree and screeched about his presence. Ears flicked around him curiously before he headed deeper into the forest. Surely there was more around here than just noisy birds?
