It was kinda amazing she had missed this in her travels to and from her claimed den, she'd been up and down the small encroaching on the forest she lived in and hadn't managed to wind up in trouble. Well til now of course, because that's just who she was, she was the wolf who constantly found herself in need of a rescue. And as she always did she had simply accepted her new fate and decided to just wait for help to inevitably come wandering by.

That did seem to be a good move on her part as her sinking had slowed and even stopped after she had stopped struggling, so now the girl was up to her chest in quicksand, her eyes closed but ears perked as she waited and hoped for someone to wander by and give her a hand.

Why, one might ask, would you return to the place where your dignity took a beating? Because...well, just because, okay? Maybe she was just a glutton for punishment. This time was going to be different though because Kanja was prepared. Clamped firmly between her teeth was a long, straight stick. Most of the time she held it sideways but whenever she reached a place that looked a little iffy the giantess would grip it by the bigger end and rake the opposite side across the ground in search of muck. Finding none, she'd return the stick to fetch position and carry on her merry way.

Oh, ho, ho! What was that she saw sitting pretty in a pool of quicksand? Kanja frisked closer. Yep, that was a wolf alright. Perfect. Now it was her turn to play snarky rescuer. With stick in tow and a giddy swing in her step, Kanja made a beeline for the trapped woman.

In a matter of minutes the giantess reached the quicksand. With a careless toss of her head Kanja dropped her stick and it clattered hollowly on the soft sand behind the stranger. She wanted to make an entrance and maybe if the woman hadn't heard her approach she'd startle a little, which, if she were being honest, would be a nice little bonus. "Awfully gutsy of you to go for a swim in quicksand," she said dryly.
