From the very beginning Tyranis had imagined Dauntless as a place that would not suffer from the many mistakes Abaven had made. Among those mistakes had been a distinct lack in interaction between the massive pack and any other wolves that might have been around. Until his adolescence Tyranis had never had a friend that wasn’t his brother; no one his own age that he could play with after his brother had disappeared, no one he could ever talk to with a mutual astonishment that only a child knew, the same kind that an adult would write off as childish nonsense. He would change that, Artemis’s pups and his own would have each other, sure, but having a close relationship to other packs as well would mean mutually beneficial relationships, and an opportunity to share information.

He stood at the edge of the territory, crying for the leader to greet him, one alpha to another and waited. Even in the mid of winter it was surprisingly warm; he chalked it up to the surrounding desert and wondered if maybe he had made a mistake in choosing the north as his home. Two packs seemed to be thriving quite well here, as opposed to the all but empty north. Then again maybe it was better that he had gone so far; the west would be far too crowded if three packs claimed the barren desert as their home.

Border patrols had been his morning task, something that has become a more intense part of his morning routine. Now that he had been promoted in rank he was determined to do the best job he could, to help guide and teach both Rory and Torin. To also help them grow so that they could be great as they aged. All the knowledge he gained from his mother, father, aunts, uncles, and grandparents he would ensure to pass down to these boys, and if he had his own to his own children.

A howl brought his steps to a halt, ears perked as he called for the alpha. As second in command he was able to answer these type of calls, something he would have to get used to. Changing his position he headed towards the call, quickening his pace to close the distance. He hadn't been to far, having started his rounds in Emerald Valley. He was focused on getting there in a timely matter.

When he arrived he was surprised to see Tyranis sitting there waiting, the scents clinging to his pelt was several other wolves. He was slightly puzzled wondering what he was calling the leader for, but non the less he was happy to see a familiar face. His tail wagged as he approached the younger, but tall male.

"Tyranis it's good to see you!" he greeted with a smile.

((Just throwing Torin in to observe his turn can be skipped unless someone addresses him directly or something dramatic happens))

Torin reluctantly picked his way towards the border, he knew that his rank determined that he should be observing and learning, still he wasn't an alpha so he was keeping his distance until either his brother or Frostbite approached the stranger.

Indeed the older man arrived not long after and Torin slowly trailed behind the older man, eyeing the stranger with some amount of wariness. Even from here he could smell the strong scent of a pack upon the boy's fur. Frostbite seemed to know the boy referring to him by a name he did not recognize.

With a muffled huff Torin settled himself behind Frostbite, nodding respectfully to the young man and waited patiently. It seemed likely this was to be a deplomacy talk and he knew that observing would be an invaluable skill for the Adravdeni who longed to be alpha.

I'll show you how a heart can never fail

Rory couldn't hide his surprise when the howl at the borders reached his ears. He'd been the one to go border hopping to talk to other alphas, but he couldn't recall a time where he'd had a visitor before. Well this was exciting at the very least! He tried to shove it down and put a more passive expression on his face as he headed towards the borders. He liked to think that he was pretty early, but apparently not early enough. He arrived in time to see both Torin and Frostbite already there and his ears flicked as Frost greeted him. An eyebrow raised towards the Kaliq with barely contained surprise before his attention turned to the dark colored male at the territory line.

"Greetings, I'm Ruaidhrí Adravendi, and the gray male lurking is my brother Torin." He flashed Torin an appreciative grin. He was glad his sibling was making an effort to show up to things and learned. Frostbite's position was temporary after all and eventually he was hoping that Torin would prove to be the perfect replacement. "And I see you already know Frostbite. Did you come for a social visit?" If so Rory would have been more than happy to take his leave so the two could have some alone time.

“Uncle Frostbite.” Tyranis greeted, more than a little surprised to see the older male again. As the grey male arrived he realized his association with the pack had gone past his uncle’s authority; the male that approached smelled almost exactly like the scarlet woman he had met at the tar pits months ago. He tipped his head in greeting to the other male and the small group was soon joined by another male, only a few months older than himself.

“Greetings.” Tyranis replied politely and then answered the male’s question; “I hadn’t intended it to be, but if all goes well it seems I will in the future.”

“I am Tyranis Wreckage, the leader of Dauntless in the North. I came to discuss terms with the leader of this pack to establish terms.” He explained with all the prestige of a politician.

“Specifically, I came to discuss the possibility of an alliance.” He said an intellectual smile growing on his features as he did. “With my uncle holding a high rank within your pack, I am more than happy to establish a healthy relationship between our packs.” His smile grew and became gentler as he spoke of his uncle while his tone remained diplomatic.

Tyranis had no idea his uncle’s rank was only temporary and that the male was simply holding it for the much younger wolf behind him; but it wasn’t likely the Lightning King would break an alliance he desperately needed over simple logistics.

Torin came in behind him and Frost turned his neck to nod a quiet greeting to him, glad to see he was still working on participating and working to further himself in the pack. Then Rory arrived and Frost again greeted him with a quiet nod before his eyes went back to his nephew. He introduced himself, but he now had a new title. Alpha? His nephew had already taken a leader position at such young age? Well it did happen, Rory was in that position also so Frost cursed himself mentally for being surprised.

As he continued he felt that Rory should take the lead on this one. Frost was a secondary and since the pack was Rory's he felt the ultimate decision of alliances should remain Rory's. He couldn't help but feel proud of his nephew for such an accomplishment already and since he stated he was in the North, he knew that Ty hadn't taken over Abaven but split off and made his own. He also made Frost curious how his siblings and his mother were fairing, he really needed to go visit his sister since both were getting older. Maybe it would be a trip that Star was willing to make with him?

Frost looked to Rory and let him take the lead, respectfully.
