Navigation - Sunset Falls


At long last she'd made her brilliant escape! When mom left the den this morning to speak with Cael's father the girl snagged the chance to zip out of the den and race out into the great unknown, hopping over the border neatly with a bounce in her step as she ran to temporary freedom. Having to skirt around a lot of the Rapids in order to leave safely, the girl hadn't really gotten too far. It was still early though as she trotted through the trees, dappled light filtering through their limbs to reach down and cover her coat in golden speckles. What a lovely place! And it got even more beautiful when she followed the river towards the sound of very loud falling water.

When Caelestis came to stand over top the falls her first instinct after taking in the way the water shone pink and gold with the colorful light of dawn was to scramble down the falls a ways to sit in one of the staggered pools. Grinning like a smug cat the girl laid back, enjoying her spot in this place of beauty. Watching the split falls as they flowed gently down towards the ground below, she sighed softly and let a paw hang over the edge of the pool she sat in, chin soon following suit so she could gaze down towards the ground below.

Still no Nyko anywhere...maybe she would never see him again...her heart felt broken, the woman felt lost. She had at last lost all hope that she would see her companion again, and it hurt that that might be the possibility. She couldn't bear never seeing him again after she had spent the majority of her life around him, and ever since they'd gotten separated, she felt completely lost. She had traveled all over the lands looking for him, and still she couldn't find hide nor hair of her best friend. She hobbled along the river, looking for a place to rest for the day before deciding on her next course of action. She had traveled most of the night, the woman afraid to travel during the day when it rained and much less so in the event she ran into someone. The sound of the waterfalls drew closer, and it didn't take long for her to spot them as she traveled further upriver. She had to admit, so far this was the most beautiful place she had seen so far, and it didn't feel dangerous at all. It probably could be if she wasn't careful, but she made sure to keep well away from the slippery rocks to avoid falling in. Rosy gaze searched the rocks for a cave, or some sort of shelter she might be able to rest in for a bit before she explored the place, but so far all she saw was a brown ball of fluff and--what? She did a double take, was there someone lying on the rocks there? Squinting, she noticed the form of a young girl with her paw dangling over the ledge, and almost immediately her heart began to race. What if that girl fell? Roseus could dive in after her, but she was a very poor swimmer with her lack of a leg and all. Instead, she decided that she would approach and hopefully coax the girl her way. She didn't feel entirely comfortable trying to climb up there without knowing if it was safe or not. Hurrying forward, she made it close enough to where the girl might be able to hear her, "Uh, e-excuse me! Little girl? C-can you come down here and tell me where I am? I'm afraid I might be lost!" There, that was a decent enough excuse to get a pup closer to her, right? "Speak"||Think||Hear

Caelestis enjoyed being flopped lazily on her rock, peeking down the falls and occasionally letting her eyelids drift closed as the sunlight began to reach her pelt and make it pleasantly warm. Mm, yes, this would be a nice day indeed. Stretching out both front legs, the child was considering going for a swim or something when she heard a voice nearby. Did she have company? Why, she sure did! A pretty lady with real fancy markings was standing on the ground down below the falls, looking up at Caelestis with lovely pale pink eyes. Hey, they kind of reminded Cael of her own rose colored eye. Momma said it looked like her grandmothers eyes, but Caelestis didn’t know for sure cause her grandmother apparently was from very far away.

Standing slowly and stretching her back and hind limbs in a slow and lazy manner she eyed the older woman, tip toeing towards the edge of her perch so she could eye the stranger for a bit. Whoever she was, she apparently was missing a leg for some reason, so Caelestis thought maybe she could take her if she tried something. Especially now that the young girl was finding herself approaching her father’s size as she got older and older. Scampering haphazardly down the falls by leaping from rock to rock down the pools the waterfall made on it’s way down the incline, she eventually came to stand a short distance away from the woman and peered at her curiously. ”What’s your name? Mine’s Caelestis, and you’re kind of close to the pack I’m staying in with my parents. It’s called Abaven.”

Deciding the woman seemed okay, she sat down with a soft thump as her hindquarters hit the grass. This lady seemed okay. Her markings were weird, and the missing leg was a curious sight, but Caelum has taught her not to stare so she didn’t and just pretended not to notice or care.
