Well, now that spring was here and the north wouldn't be so damn cold he figured now was as good a time as any to go explore it. He had hung around the south and east plenty, but the north was still a little of a mystery. The further north he got the more he was reminded of why it was still such a mystery to him. There was one key reason why he had quickly retreated back to the east the last time here was here.

He hated being cold.

Even with the spring weather firmly in place it was still chilly and there was still snow around. Well, this was turning out to be a terrible idea. But, he was stubborn and he plowed ahead none of the less. The terrain around him started getting more and more mountainous until he realized that he was literally in a mountain pass. He looked around at the steep cliffs and rocks around him as he walked, his gaze tipped upward for the most part. He whistled softly under his breath at how tall and big everything seemed. He was much more used to flat land and hills instead of mountains. Well, at least the scenery was interesting.

Dauntless had fallen and the members split to go their separate ways. Aerndis was now traveling with her family through various parts of the north. She was to young to really know what to make of everything that happened but her adventurous spirit still craved to wander. Today she was headed up into the mountains. It was rough going for her little puppy legs but she was determined to make it to the top. That would show her siblings how awesome she was! Jupiter got to do all the cool things but she was going to be cool to.

Aerndis was scrambling from rock to rock when a flash of brilliant orange caught her attention. She looked ahead to see a man who looked like fire. She knew she was supposed to be wary of strangers but he was just to interesting looking. "Hello! Are you gonna climb to the top of the mountain to?" She bounded… tripped, then scrambled over to him.

The sound of pebbles trickling down the rocky landscape caught his attention first, making him lift his head just in time to see a very colorful, swirled looking pup come scrambling down the rocks. He did a quick glance around for her parents, but it looked like maybe she was out here on her own. He was surprised to see a pup out in the mountains, but didn't he get himself into some dangerous situations when he was little too? He smiled a little when she asked if he was going to climb to the top of the mountain too. That honestly sounded terrible, but at the same time he didn't want her doing it on her own either.

"All the way to the top?!" he asked, some humor in his tone. He craned his neck up like the tip of the mountains was farther up than he could even see. He glanced back down at her with a grin. "Well, only if I have a hiking companion. Do you think you could be a good enough climber to get all the way up there?" Maybe he shouldn't be encouraging a pup to climb dangerous ledges, but who was he to put a damper on her good time? It wasn't like he was her dad or something. He was like the fun uncle that got the kids in trouble and then dropped them off at home later. Part of him kind of hoped that she'd get a little ways further up and decide it was too far and turn back so he wouldn't have to worry.

Aerndis shifted, getting her legs set sturdily underneath her as her gaze flickered to the top. She couldn't wait to tell her brother that she climbed the whole thing! She nodded at the man's question. "Yea! My brother is always outdoing me but not this time! My name is Aerndis, what's yours?" Maybe the man would be her friend? She considered his question as she stared up the patch she wanted to take and the snow that still drifted and cloaked the path. "Good enough? I don't know about that but I know I'm determined enough." She scampered forward a few bounds then turned to him grinning. "Do you have any siblings. I bet we can impress yours to!"
