snapping teeth

The noise here is almost overwhelming -- it feels amplified against Itzal's cranium, each reverberation of bird calls hitting his skull like a finely tuned piece of metal. He seems visibly bothered by it; his fur is ruffled and standing on end, and each new call has him shaking his head. It feels like the birds have lodged themselves in his skull somehow, and not the one outside his face. No, no, deeper, inside his head. "These birdies are very annoying, and Itzal's ears they are destroying! They set up their nest, and as you have guessed, Itzal is really not enjoying!" With the compulsive rhyme out of the way, Itzal crouches and covers his ears with his forepaws, scratching as though feathers are stuck in them. He hates it! He hates the birds and their flapping wings. He's distracted enough that the paw steps go unnoticed to his aching ears, but the scent of another companion has him lifting his head just in time to see another wolf nearby. "Are they useful? To eat? Should we eat?" His idle chatter is almost drowned out by more calling birds, enough for his tail to thump in frustration and his teeth to show in gleaming ivory. |

Nabis hadn't meant to be eavesdropping on the strange masked male, but well... He was nothing if not curious and the stranger's appearance alone had been enough to pique the man's interest. Then there was the rhyming. Now that was really of note, anyone with half an ambition to be seen as threatening or edgy could shove their face in a skull and call it a day, but it took dedication to speak in rhymes. It seemed his cover had been blown however as the stranger suddenly called out... or maybe he hadn't? If he was honest he wasn't really sure what the male was speaking of. But well... Nabis just had to talk to him personally. Slinking from her hiding spot her grinned at the unknown male. His brows quirking up. "I certainly hope it's the birds you're talking about." He cast a lazy glance upwards. "But if not, it might interest you to know I could help with the hunger and noise problem in one fell swoop." He ran his gaze over the smaller male, a grin splitting his face as he spoke again. "Two birds with one stone, as it were." |
