Prepare to be Amazed

With his peculiar hopping gait they had not made quite so good of time as some of the other pairs Pyralis had sent out on scouting missions, but Seth had felt a particular urgency to reach his destination and had forced himself to push beyond what he would normally have done. Pyralis being something of a loose cannon herself would not have seen a problem with sending out anyone who was a scout regardless of their personality but Seth was uneasily aware of the dangerous madness that threaded through their bloodline. Who knew what further damage might be done to the reputation of the family if they ran amok with no one about for damage control? And though he may not seem to, and perhaps had far less reason to than his relations, Seth cared deeply for his family's welfare. As a whole rather than some of the individuals, to be sure, but he would fight as hard as any to put the Abraxas name where it belonged regardless of how much of an embarrassment his existence might be for many of them. He would simply do the fighting in a way he was better suited for.
And he wouldn't let the Abraxas name be dragged through the mud because some of his relatives were madder than March hares. When he was done with Pyralis' mission he would find an excuse to stay north and continue on, even if he had to do so alone. Malleus after all would have duties as heir that he did not, and might not appreciate being dragged around the north on a fool's errand. Collecting herbs and learning more of healing would do well as an excuse, being necessary as well as convenient.
He had asked the titanous male to allow him to approach the pack borders alone. The effect of his own harmless appearance would be rather spoiled by having a hulking bodyguard lurking at his shoulder, after all. But being rather fond of keeping his hide intact, he had asked the heir to remain within easy hearing so he could rescue Seth in the event it became necessary.
Seth stopped a polite distance from the pack's border. He had taken the time to scent himself with a few herbal oils, something he had decided to make something of a study of some time ago. It was fascinating how certain scents could affect the brain chemistry and induce involuntary mood changes in others. Quite a useful thing when one was seeking to manipulate a situation to their own benefit. He had chosen his oils carefully today - lavender for its relaxing traits of course, but also an oil taken from soaking the rinds of a mandarin in boiling water that he had found tended to have something of a hypnotic effect to relieve anxieties and nervousness. And sandlewood, a particular favorite of his for its sedative effects that seemed to calm anger and quell anxieties. It wasn't so distinctive from other woods as to be obvious, but the effects could be startling in a patient. He was interested to see if it would affect the outcome of this meeting, though of course who could say for certain if it was the scents that were changing events or if it would simply play out that way anyway?
Satisfied that the herbal scents were blending with rather than masking the Abraxas pack scent, the dwarf raised his stunted muzzle to call out to announce his presence. Now to prepare himself to be charming.

She had been deep within the plains, stalking along a fresh trail of turkey. She wasn’t a ranked hunter anymore, but the women couldn’t deny the love for the task. It was a beautiful thing to be skilled in and she would still push herself to practice it daily. Who knew maybe the future held some new ranks being announced by Sparrow, one that she could hunt in. Brandr also had a new rank and since the meeting he had been fairly busy she felt it would be improper to ask him for some hunting time together so she chose to work along for the time being until they both settled into thier new ranks and got the hang of their duties. She had been tracking this flick since early morning, being vary picky about when exactly she would strike. The birds were flighty so she had to be sure she hung back far enough that they wouldn’t spook. Plus she enjoyed taking her time with her quarry and even times the young hunter would toy with them if she was feeling frisky enough. The trail was leading her closer and closer to the borders and the birds were having a steady paced movement, she was waiting until they would stop to eat.
She could hear the birds ahead, they had stopped to eat and her adrenaline began to pump through her veins. Sinking lower to the ground she made quiet advances forward eyes glued to the patch of brush ahead of her. Then all her work was shattered as a howl from the nearby boarders made the birds take off and an annoyed snarl tear through her throat. She then hugged and collected herself looking in the direction of the call. It was an open call, not one specifically for the alpha. She was the closest to the call, or so she assumed and began to head in the direction figuring she better get there instead of leaving the wolf who called on its own. It didn’t take her long to get there and when the wolf came into view she found a strang small wolf there. He was much smaller then her own mother, who she had thought to be the smallest of normal wolves. Was this a pup?? No it couldn’t been, her well trained nose could pick up the smell of tostierone on the male. He was an adult, just vary small. She was mildly curious and continued to close the distance, but stopped a decent distance away as the mixture of the oils hit her nose and made it wrinkle. Yes she was a healer, but with a well trained trackers nose the smell of the herbs bothered her at times and this mixture was one of the times.
”What can I help you with stranger,” she called out, her voice kind yet weary. The information from the last meeting had her on edge about strangers, especially one that was alone at thier borders.

The child -if you could even call her that with her current size- had set to wandering the pack lands again, exploring any and every trail, wandering even the paths that looked liked they'd fallen into disuse over time. She was working hard to learn every inch of the territory while she was stuck here... Caelum was mad, like, real mad. For once Caelestis figured she should obey her mother's directions and keep within the borders, at least for now.
Irritation at having to stay in once spot was soon overshadowed by curiosity at a howl that rang out from the border. Well, if Cael couldn't find trouble, it seemed trouble would find her. Not that she was summoned, but that wasn't going to stop her from checking it out! Setting off at a ground-eating lope, she'd make it there quickly.
What was this she found? A teeny, tiny little wolf that looked child sized but was clearly adult. Was that even a wolf? Noo, couldn't be, right? She sauntered into view, tail rising well above her hips as the lanky almost yearling made her entrance. Ears forward, locked onto the tiny man, she eyed him quizzically with those bright eyes and scoffed, "What're you supposed to be, flower-breath?" he smelled like an overpowering amount of herb. Curling a lip, she stayed standing so she could stare him down from every inch of height advantage she possessed.
Only after her fixation on the little creature began to wane did she note Corentine was also there. Her words were much nicer. Caelestis apparently was finding some of her father's personality in her today, for she didn't ammend her words or alter her behavior with the realization she wasn't the first responder to the call. In fact she just eyed the visitor more carefully. What if he was an invader? He smelled familiar, but her untrained nose was distracted by the flowery crap. Did Corentine know how to fight? Cause Caelestis would totally beat the guy up if he was trouble.

Cael has facial scars not seen in all of her art yet!

Sparrow heard the call, but it took her some time to cross the space from where she was to where the visitor was. She hurried at such a pace that her arrival would be convenient, but also such that she would not be out of breath by the time she arrived.
When she finally did come into the area of the call, Sparrow was surprised to see that two of her members- well one member and one refugee- had already found the caller. The wolf, as it was, was fairly small. He was, in fact, even smaller than the tiny alphaess.
Despite his herbal smell, she could still scent the pack which he belonged. The two scents merged together rather than masking one. Sparrow didn't know which pack this scent was.
The small woman smiled, pushing past her packmates, "Hello, I'm Sparrow, the alpha of Abaven. I see you've met my pack members already," she said, smiling lightly. "What can I do for you?"
