Navigation -- Buffalo Knolls

The female had started slipping away from the Mangroves a little more frequently, and though she was sure that it would worry her mother and brother eventually they hadn’t seemed to catch on to her plans just yet. No Face had been surprisingly cooperative at the idea of keeping the idea of a Resistance secret from them. The bat hawk was also rather diligent at making sure Philomena was actively training, keeping up on the skills that her uncle had taught her. Though dodging shadows wasn’t the same as fighting another wolf… and tracking was great and all, but what purpose did it really serve?

Philomena had debated about heading to the battlefield, but she was certain the moment her challenge call rang out across the lands her mother and Ulric would know exactly what she was up to. But how could she form a Resistance without learning more about battle? A huff left the female, and she dug her claws into the ground as she pressed on. Sooner or later she was going to have to bite the bark, basically… She couldn’t hide the truth from them forever. Especially if they were going to believe things would be fine the way they were.

A screech told Philly that No Face was hunting. The bat hawk had a voracious appetite and he went after his favorite snack a lot; bats.

It made Philomena a little sad to see such cute creatures eaten… but hey, they all had to eat something, right? She was sure the prey she hunted had family that cared about them too.

Philomena paused, ears perking as she looked up at the sky from on top of one of the many knolls here. She took a deep breath, letting the wind play with her fur. ‘This is the right choice… I know it is… I just hope Mama and Ulric will understand.’ The girl wasn’t sure what she wanted to make of the Resistance she sought to form. Would it be a pack or more of a temporarily family?

Details, details to iron out. Philomena’s ears twitched, the sound of some sort of scuffle reaching her ears. That didn’t sound too good!

Adventure and exploration called to the young man almost as much as his drive to keep sparring and learning - part of the reason he still hadn't returned to Celestial's borders yet. He didn't really feel like it just yet, not when there was so much to do and see and wolves everywhere to learn from! Once he was in a pack things would change, and since he wasn't quite ready for that he decided it would be easier to wait until he was more inclined to accept the changes. Besides, he still had plenty of time, right? The young friend he made at the borders some time ago now still probably wasn't going on adventures into the outside world yet, so until then he felt alright roaming far and wide and pestering strangers to teach him things.

He was sitting at the top of one of the many large knolls, bison nowhere in sight. Eyeing his surroundings juuust in case that crazy uncle of his showed up, Amos eventually decided it was safe, flopping onto his stomach and grinning like a fool as he rolled down the slope, laughing all the way until his momentum lessened and he slowed and stopped in the valley below. Scrambling to shift sop he was layingon one side, head raised, Amos beamed at the world around him. He failed to notice the tuft of grass stuck to his head, but he did notice a young woman he hadn't previously seen. He would have felt embarrassed, but the yearling was busy wondering why she looked so familiar... Oh! That's right! "Hey, Philly, yeah? Whatchya doin'?"

Philomena turned her head at a somewhat familiar voice and was greeted with a face she hadn’t seen in some time. Still, it was good to see someone she recognized! “Amos!” The female’s gaze brightened a bit, and she glanced around, almost half expecting the young man’s brother to be with him. At the question of what she was doing the girl shifted on her paws, taking on a more serious look. “Thinking… and thinking hard.” The girl confessed, her gaze heading back out over the knolls as she flicked her ears back a little.

“There’s an Empire that rose up from the ashes of my old pack… and they killed my father to get what they wanted. Because he wouldn’t just lay down at their feet.” Philomena gritted her teeth. “Because he was… in the way.” The girl could feel a mix of emotion bubbling at that statement. It never sat well with her. “I’m pretty sure they mean to conquer all of Boreas, and Auster too. I’m not going to let them.” Philomena glanced to the other, her gaze shining with seriousness.

“But to form some type of resistance takes time… organization. I was thinking about what type of resistance I wanted to form… and how I’m going to become strong enough to be a worthy leader.” Philomena furrowed her brow. “Part of the problem is all the wolves I’ve seen as part of the Risen Empire are giants. I don’t know if many wolves have experience fighting others that size… It’s not like I can make a giant army myself to fight against them.” She shook her head.

“How have you been though?”
