Tearin' up my heart

The female had isolated.
Samael’s disappearance… and the disapproval of the rest of her kin around them made her feel more alone than ever. Were it not for Shri the woman probably would have gone insane. She had lost her faith… what was family anymore? They’d never accept her… all she could hope was to reunite with Samael and Gabe… but was there even really hope of that?
Uri lay inside her den, a small nest made for Shri keeping the mourning dove warm despite the frigid temperatures of the north. There had been times when Uriel had considered heading south… but she wasn’t sure that was right decision. She wanted to be near her family… even if they didn’t want to be near her.
Ears twitched as night began to fall, a sound somewhere outside the den alerting her to the presence of something sniffing nearby. Uriel rose, nosing Shri back down as the dove tried to get up. “Stay here…” The woman whispered, emerging out into the snow covered land.
Mint colored eyes searched for the stranger in the darkness, soon falling upon a light and dark figure moving through the trees. Uriel was silent, her heart beginning to race in her chest. Were her eyes playing tricks on her? Had her mind slipped so much to think she saw what she desired most?
...or was he really there, at long last?
Despite all his sins… having fallen and convinced her to fall with him…
Uriel did not damn her brother.
...but she did miss him.
