Serene Validis At long last, the heat finally broke over their homeland. It had been a long and rather stressful season, for Serene in particular. Having lived her entire life north of these lands, where she knew bitter cold had taken place instead of the boiling heat, her body wasn't use to the change. Her hair, though light in color grew thick during the heat season as it would have for the winter months, and having all that extra fur made her even more uncomfortable than she already was. It was safe to say, the female stayed within the confine of her cool den walls. Except of course, for water and food, or whenever Malleus came to check in on her. That's who she walked beside now, as they made their way back to the beautiful Lazuli Falls, this time ready to harvest herbs. The last time they had ventured here, the plants had been wilted in the oppressive heat and they were unable to collect any of the herbs they found. And just like he promised, Malleus had showed her some new herbs; Ginseng and horsetail, the same herbs she hoped to hunt down today and bring back home for the pack and for her garden. Now that the heat was backing off, the plants would have a better chance at surviving the trip back, and that made her paws move in a slightly brisker pace than usual. Serene was excited to finally begin making her home full; even if she had gathered a few herbs for her shelves, they were still not full and her garden had yet to be made. But that wasn't the only thing missing from her den, and weight of not having them weighed heavily on her thoughts. Spring was here. Which meant two things. One; Serene's heat was beginning to rear its ugly head once more, and soon it would over take her body completely. Two; if the fawn woman did not find a mate and breed soon, the beastly Daemon would find her and claim her womanhood and her life as she knew it. But Serene was hopeful, she had made up her mind many moons ago that she would be ready to become a mother, to fill her home with the yips and whines of her offspring. But she wanted it to be her home, here in Risen. Which left her with one massive question; who? Who could she ask to share her life with? To share her home with? To share her lineage with? Every time her mind would wander to the same tuffs of silver fur, to the same turquoise eyes, to the same male she had trusted since she first met him. But how can she even ask of such a thing? "Speech" <

This trip was already shaping up to be better than the last one. Relief from the heat had come with the turn of the season. Malleus was glad his days of skulking around in the shade like a vampire were over. His movements had been restricted by the heat of the day and he'd been forced to get all of his work done early in the morning or late in the evening. With the change in season had come something else as well. Something Malleus couldn't ignore if he tried. He was keenly aware of Serene's current state. How could he not be? The heat scent that emanated from her was bewitching and he struggled to keep his thoughts from it. It was like being in a desert and resisting an oasis. Finally they reached the lush, raised edge of the pool at the base of the falls. Tipping his head back, Malleus gazed up at the cerulean cascade. The falling water struck the pool below with a thunderous roar. Even though this wasn't his first visit, Malleus was once against struck by the raw power and beauty of the falls. "I can't think of a better place for these plants to grow. It's fitting that such rare ones would grow in such a remarkable place," he commented absently. He tore his gaze away from the falls and looked to Serene. "Ready to stock those shelves at home? I think we can make a killing today."

Serene Validis The roar of the falls hit her senses first; so caught up in her own thoughts and concerns, she had almost missed the view that stood before her. The waterfall was just as breathtaking as it was the last time, but this time, the sparkling water seemed even more tempting without the burning heat of the sun. No, this time Serene fought a different heat, one that coursed through her very veins. With a slight haste to her step did the fawn vixen make her way to the poolside, leaning down to lap up the cool refreshing water. It did little to fix her actual problem, but at the moment it was enough to ease her troubles. Malleus's voice pulled her away from the water as she turned to look over her shoulder. She could already see the herbs they were hunting growing towards the forest edge. She smiled softly, "Yes, so much beauty could be found here, I wonder what else this place has to offer." Speaking of her shelves, the woman laughed, shaking her head softly before trotting back over to the silver male. "I suppose it would be nice to fill my little hole in the ground with some life." She giggled, nudging his shoulder playfully as she had done many a times before, but this time she lingered just a bit longer. For the briefest of seconds, her body's torture was eased by his presence, and she so desperately wanted to get another taste but she slowly pulled herself away. She couldn't be greedy with him, not now, not yet. "What should we collect first?" She suddenly spoke, turning her attention to the herbs, "horsetail or ginseng?" "Speech" <

"I suppose it would be nice to fill my little hole in the ground with some life." These words caused Malleus to lose ground in his fight against the hormones begging to be recognized. Serene's heat scent fueled an errant thought about a different kind of life and holes. It took every ounce of self control he had not to blush and give his thoughts away. The opportunity was there. Malleus had hinted about the Abraxas ever present desire to expand their numbers and Serene hadn't seemed distressed by the idea at the time. A little uncomfortable, maybe, but in the end she'd decided to stay and that had to mean something, right? Malleus let her nudge rock him away and then used his shoulder to bump her back. At the same time he reached out and nipped playfully at her ear. The titan then darted away before she could retaliate. Grinning, he glanced over his shoulder at her. Easy, he cautioned himself. It was fine to test the waters and see how receptive she was, but he had to be careful not to get carried away. Right. Plants. Not holes, not life. Plants. They were here for plants. "Hm," he rumbled. "How about..." Malleus turned around slowly as he looked for the plants in question. "Horsetail since it's closer?" He began to pad towards it. "I wonder if this will grow back home. It would be nice to have a fresh supply within reach." Malleus glanced over at Serene. "I don't suppose you know anything about plant cultivation, do you?"

Serene Validis His playful bump and nip did not go unnoticed by the fawn woman, but when she reached out to return the favor, he darted away from her. Serene let out a frustrated huff before listening to him talk about the horsetail. She would follow shortly after him, still holding a playful glint in her eye but paid attention to the plants nonetheless. Slowly did they reach the herbs growing tall near the water's edge, and Serene wasted no time getting to examining them. Already they looked much healthier than the last time they came here. His question about gardening had her ears perks in interested, but her playfulness got the best of her. "And what if I did?" The golden fae would walk dangerously close to the silver male, eyes half hooded, tail swaying with her hips behind her. "What would you do for it?" She would round hid backside and run her body alongside his, easing her way towards his crown once more where she would whisper into his ear, "What would you do... for me?" Then she would attempt to give his ear a rough tug, not so much as to hurt him, but definitely to get back at him for tugging at hers. Then, using his own moves, would the blonde woman dash away from the male and into the herd of horsetail. A trail of giggles left in her wake as she ducked low to the ground, hoping to entice a little game of hide and seek with her favorite Alpha. It was strange, Serene would not normally be this brazen nor this carefree, but perhaps that was the strongest sign that this was right. Whether it was due to her heat adding extra hormones into her system or the fact that she genuinely wanted Malleus, it felt right. For the first time in months, Serene finally felt the Gods were pleased with her, and she was overjoyed with it. But at this very moment, her heart raced within her chest as she waited for his next move. Come get me, your highness. "Speech" <

Perhaps he should have been more prepared for it given that state of his thoughts, but Serene's sultry tone surprised him. It seemed the effects of her season worked both ways. It was hard to reconcile this vixen with the shy, nervous woman he'd first met. He rather liked this side of her. He licked his lips as he considered just what he would do for her and stood still as she brushed along his side. "I," he said in a low voice, "Would do anything." And he meant it. His mind was afire with the things he would do for her. Perhaps a bit foolishly he was lulled into a false sense of security by her actions. In an instant the little vixen snapped at his ear and then took off, her curvaceous hips disappearing into the tall weeds before he had a chance to react. He grinned wolfishly, a laugh booming from his lips as he took off after her. The plants long forgotten, Malleus wove through the tall grass with his thoughts fixed firmly on the woman and the intoxicating trail she left behind. His tone playful, he said, "Come now, Serene. That wasn't very nice." Malleus tsked in mock reproach, his eyes roving the grasses in search of a glimpse of her. "Marco..." A flash of cream caught his eye and he hunkered down. Like a lion on the prowl he began to slink towards where he thought she was hiding. The seconds ticked by as he crept closer; the weeds tickling his sides as he glided through them. Malleus waited until he was within leaping distance and then he pounced, hoping to catch her in his arms and hold her fast.

Serene Validis I would do anything The mighty Alpha would do anything for Serene? A mere mortal in the eyes of his people, of his God? It just might've been the most romantic thing Malleus could have said to her in that very moment. Or any moment. It caused a cascade of tingles down along her spine and stirred the boiling pot in her nether regions. Of course he could be lying, and the fact that she now knew how greatly she was affecting him could attest to it. But maybe it was the look in those sapphire eyes, or the tone he chose to use, but Serene believed him. His rippling laughter caused the largest grin to spread across her lips, loving the feeling of being chased. Of being wanted. Of being craved by someone she desired just as much. Ears twitching to the side as she heard the brush moving up ahead of her, followed by his taunting words, the blonde woman scooted farther away as she muffled her own laughter. Though it might have seemed like Serene didn't want to be caught, that was just part of the game. She most certainly did want to be caught. So when the opportunity presented itself, the golden fae released a low hummed, "Polo." It wold give away her position with ease, but she didn't care. The woman would settled onto her stomach as her heart raced, searching the tall grass for a glimpse of his silver fur. Out of the blue did Malleus leap out of the vegetation and Serene did all she could not to scream in surprise, letting out a small yip instead as she was suddenly pinned. Her bubbly laughter erupted from her lungs as she waited for her heart rate to settle down, craning her head to peer at his aqua orbs. The closeness of his frame against hers, the thrill of being caught, made her blood burn with excitement. "You've caught me, now, what shall you do to me?" Her voice was soft as she spoke, her head becoming cloudy with an unknown feeling of desire creeping into it. Surely he knew Serene had never done this before, right? Would he still be willing? A wave of motion rippled through her frame, starting at her crown all the way to the tip of her tail, moving in a wave-like movement. Her body was craving his, craving the attention, practically begging to be closer to him. Her mouth suddenly drier than she remembered, Serene let her tongue drag along her lips tenderly, eyes watching his bodies movement with anticipation. "Speech" <

In an instant the chase was over. Her surprised yelp was music to his ears as he wrapped his arms around her; the yip drawing an amused chuckle from him. Victory was his and - he breathed in her sweet scent - it smelled amazing. Malleus loosened his grip on Serene so he wouldn't squash her, but he didn't let her go. Instead he remained crouched over her; his chest brushing against her back with every breath he drew. Each inhalation made his skin prickle with anticipation as their fur intertwined. In response to her question he hummed thoughtfully and let a few seconds tick by as though he needed to consider his next move. In reality the answer was easy. Without a word he dropped his head until his lips brushed Serene's scruff. He breathed in deeply, his eyes closing, and let her sweet scent wash over him. His pulse quickened and his breath grew shallow as her perfume overwhelmed his senses. Malleus' eyes opened as he felt a shiver run through Serene. "This," he murmured into her ear before nipping at it playfully. His final retaliation, promise! His lips then found their way from her ear to her jawline and left a trail of kisses in their wake. While it would be so easy to give in, to do what his every instinct screamed at him to do, a thought nagged at him and held him back. Malleus hesitated and craned his neck to the side so he could meet Serene's gaze. His voice heavy with implication, he asked, "Are you sure this is what you want?" He had to know. From this moment on Serene's future would be tied to the Abraxas. If she conceived a part of her would belong to them. If she chose him today there would be no going back. If she ever changed her mind he wouldn't give her up so easily.

Serene Validis Serene could feel him along her back, his body heat seeping into her already heated skin and his hair twisting and tangling with her own. But it was his scent, the sweet scent of masculinity that rubbed into her pores, that's what drove her crazy. As if her mind wasn't already a cloud of lust, the silver male would lean into her scruff, making her hum an approval. She liked the way he touched her. It was so sweet and so gentle- ouch!. Her ear was suddenly tugged on once again and the blonde woman let out a playful growl, not liking that she was loosing this little game of tug-a-ear. But her playful irritation was smoothed once warmth of his breath and the tingling sensation of his lips along her jawline hit her. Amber eyes would flutter close, her first moan slipping past her lips as she indulged in the way he made her feel. But just as soon as his touch had come, it left her, causing her eyes to flutter open in confusion. He was asking for permission, to move forward. It was nice to know that he was thinking clearly too. Serene understood what this would mean, and she was sure she wanted it. The Gods demanded such a thing from her, but now it was on her own terms. She wouldn't have want it any other way. Tenderly did she reach up to place a few gentle kisses along his jaw before she would answer him. "It's what the Gods want from us," she would murmur, moving her kisses further down his neck. "And it's what I want from you," front legs would push her body up, allowing her to continue to lay hungry kisses across his frame. With a hushed whisper she would add; "And I know it's what you want from me." Finally, she would reach up and attempt to pull down on his ear, mostly to tug it back like he had done to her, but she wanted him down closer to her as well. She would rest her chest against the earth once more, her head tilted to the side to peer at him. Her heart rate was racing once more, pounding against her rib cage with nerves and excitement. The burning in her nether regions had her tail swishing the the sides, trying to cool the endless hunger building inside her. Breathlessly, she would add; "be gentle with me, would you?" The muffled moans of her pleasure would be lost in the roar of the falls, but their actions on this night would be something she never forgets. -Fade- "Speech" <

Her kisses knocked the wind from him as forcefully as a kick to the gut. He leaned into her touch, his lips parting and his skin prickling as her lips left a trail of heat down his neck. Each touch seemed to light another fire under his skin until he was ablaze with it. It was a feeling the likes of which he'd never felt before. "I do," he said gently. This time when she tugged on his ear he didn't retaliate. Instead he moved with her; the tall grasses around them nearly swallowing his form as he sank down into them and covered Serene greedily. "I couldn't have you any other way," he said as he placed a tender kiss at the crook of her throat. He could feel her breath on his face as she looked up at him. Her expression was so trusting, so open, he felt as if he were a part of her. His heart was beating so hard he was sure she could hear it. The fire that had spread through him was more akin to a flood. It pooled in his belly; the pressure not quite pain, but certainly strong enough to demand he abandon pretense for action. Each kiss, each nibble he placed upon her skin out of need only heightened his desperation. He needed her as strongly as he needed to breathe. Finally he couldn't take it any longer. Her tail beat against the inside of his thighs gently as he tightened his grip on her waist and closed what little space remained between them. Serene's voice may have been small compared to the falls, but Malleus could hear nothing else. -fade-

Serene Validis Amber eyes fluttered open once more to see the stocks of horsetail and tall grass surrounding her, acting as both a bed and a curtain to the rest of the world. Slowly did Serene's senses come back to her; the roar of the nearby waterfall filled her ears, then the scent of her lover soon filled her nostrils. She took a deep, greedy breath of it before she turned to look at the source; tussles of silver locks framing a peaceful looking Malleus. Immediately a small smile formed on her lips while a warmth spread across her chest. Who would have guessed that the male in the stone tower would end up laying here beside her now? Meaning so much to her? Serene certainly hadn't seen it coming, but she was glad he was here now. She couldn't imagine anyone else. As badly as she wanted to let him sleep, the sun would not wait forever and they still had a job to do. So the female would lean down and place a tender kiss upon his forehead. "It's time to wake up, my love. The herbs will not wait for us." Her voice was soft and delicate, hoping not to startle him and instead coo him awake. Serene would shift her weight to lay on her side, but an ache from down below asked her not to. She would wince, if only slightly, but she continued to smile through it. No matter the pain, she would never regret the events that unfolded here. She knew the Gods would be pleased with this mating, as was she, and as she hoped Malleus would be too. Though they had not discussed it, she hoped he would not simply abandon her after this. She wanted pups that was true, and she knew how important a new generation was to the Abraxas, but Serene wanted more. She would want a relationship. However, that would be a conversation at a later date, as for now, they needed to collect the herbs they came here for. "Speech" <

Serene got her wish; her voice woke him gently. Malleus groaned and stretched, but made no move to rise. He was content to just lay there, to breathe in Serene's sweet scent and consider their future together. For as long as he could remember Malleus had been told of what was expected of him. What his future held. He would follow in the footsteps of those before him; conquering and seeding the land with Abraxas. Malleus thought he'd known what that meant, but his ever evolving relationship with Serene challenged that belief. The path they'd taken to this moment had been entered into mutually. It hadn't been a conquest. He didn't feel like he'd simply brought a lesser creature to heel. Malleus yawned and then rolled over so he could rest his chin on Serene's neck. "Mmm," he groaned. "Five more minutes. What are they going to do? Run away?" They had the whole meadow to themselves. It would be a shame to waste it. Besides, he reasoned selfishly, if the goal was to conceive, wouldn't it make sense to increase their odds by...spending more time together? That was going to be his rationale, anyway. In truth, her scent was going to drive him crazy and now that this final barrier had been broken between them it was going to be hard for him to keep his paws off of her. For the moment, at least, he was satisfied. But content or not he was still reluctant to rise. Common sense told him that it was wise to return to the pack sooner rather than later and Malleus had to remind himself of that. But... He couldn't resist licking the back of her neck. The fur there was still mussed from the last time he touched it so he busied himself with smoothing it down. Maybe if he sprinkled a few nibbles in here and there he could convince her to lay with him awhile longer.

Serene Validis Amber eyes would watch carefully as the silver brute awoke, giggling softly at how he rested upon the crease of her neck. She was glad he was tired, perhaps that meant he enjoyed himself as much as she had, and perhaps that meant she had some time before he would mount her again. Serene, though a virgin till just a few hours ago, was no fool. Her heat would continue to make her hungry for his touch, and if this mating proved anything, it was that her scent drove him mad as well. His tired groan brought her away from such dirty thoughts, and back to the weight resting on her neck. It was true that the plants weren't going to leave the meadow anytime soon, nor them if he kept this up, but the sun would not wait for them forever, and Serene knew she could not keep the Alpha hostage forever. She was about to protest when his tongue found the base of her neck again, the sensation making her eyes flutter close and a muffled sigh of content slip past her slightly parted lips. He was good, he knew her weakest point and she loved him for it. Slowly would her crown begin to fall, gone was the idea of herb hunting and in it's stead was only Malleus. "Mmm fine, three minutes." Finally she let her head drop to rest on the tops of his paws, rubbing her cheek against his fur until she was comfortable. She could get use to this kind of treatment from the almighty alpha. But that thought, of continued time spent with Malleus, made her wonder what would happen after they left the meadow. Since the silver male had always been so open to questions in the past, Serene felt little to no worries about popping a question out now. "Malleus... what happens now?" Though she knew the topic was a little more serious, her voice didn't sound like it. It was laced with tire and light moans. He was just too damn good at what he does! "Speech" <

"Mmm, fine, three minutes." Malleus paused mid nibble to cock his head and frown. "Only three minutes? What happened to five?" He lowered his lips to her ear and then whispered playfully, "Guess I'm gonna have to try harder." And harder he tried; recalling and seeking out some of her favorite places in the hopes of gaining just a few more minutes with her. After several moments - when he was feeling like he was on the brink of success - Serene asked him a question. Her tone was light, but the question was a serious one and without meaning to Malleus paused as he considered it. The practical, Abraxas explanation for what came next was that now, for better or worse, she was joined to him for the rest of the season. In good conscience he simply couldn't allow her to walk away knowing that there was chance she carried Abraxas children. Doing so would be irresponsible. Bastard Abraxas were an abomination and he would not - could not - suffer the possibility of their existence. He hoped their time together would amount to more than that, though. More than just a sterile, loveless means to an end. He wanted more than what his parents had. Malleus had asked Serene before they'd gotten in too deep if she was sure it was what she'd wanted. More than anything else he hoped she understood he'd been talking about more than just sex. "Now," he said teasingly a few seconds later, "you're stuck with me." Malleus nibbled on one of her ears then added, "Preferably here in this meadow where no one can bother us." If she pressed him he would answer the question seriously, but he was comfortable and a little drowsy and that made him reluctant to ruin the moment with serious talk.

Serene Validis She simply couldn't resist the giggles that slipped past her lips, the frown that plagued his feature made him look exceptionally adorable, which was odd coming from the Alpha. Serene quite liked this side of Malleus; he was usually very charming and honest, but this side had an almost playful, pup like feel to it. All laughter fled however, as his threat to earn more time with her resulted in more heavenly grooming. Never before was she exposed to such treatment, and if this was going to become a regular thing, Serene could definitely get use to it. A soft moan slipped past her lips before she rolled onto her back, pressing her side impossibly closer to the male as she pawed at his features. She had always been curious as to how the silver male won his scars, but she figured his pup hood would be the answer. But whether it was her tired thoughts or her inability to filter her words, Serene would suddenly ask. "Tell me the story behind these." Her paw would gently brush alongside the scars that ran down his maw, wondering what battle must've been fought to earn him such markings. Now, you're stuck with me. "Good." She would smile as she said this, only to gasp as he once again nibbled on her ear. She didn't need any more explanation, she trusted that Malleus would be true to his word, and he would be hers. That was her simple desire. That, and pluck a few bundles of herbs so that they could return home and finish their business within the confines of a den. A playful glint shined in her amber eyes before she rolled back onto her paws, and despite the low pain in her hind end, she would quickly move to stand. But not before she would lean over and attempt to place her victory nibble on one of his own ears. "Come, the sooner we collect these herbs.." She would pause only to place a loving kiss on his muzzle. "The sooner we can find a den and finish our.... previous activities." Hopefully that would be enough to entice him to get up and help her, but Serene would not wait for his answer. Instead the blonde fae would disappear into the vegetation once more, her sights set on the horsetail growing closer to the falls. "Speech" <

Serene's paw brushed against his cheek and for a moment he could think of nothing else but her feather light touch. His brain was sluggish as he tried to remember just what was wrong with the side of his face. Really, the more awake he became the more intoxicating he found her scent to be. Malleus was struggling to keep his thoughts from the sweet agony that had consumed them once already and could, if he gave himself over to it, consume them again. Her paw left his face and he was left feeling a bit hollow. Malleus frowned and forced himself to think about her question. What was it again? Oh, right. His scars. "I fought a mountain lion," he said simply. The details of the encounter were a bit foggy. The cat had moved so fast that he still didn't know just how it had managed to get him. He'd thought, in that moment, that he was safe. "I underestimated its abilities and paid for my naivety. You should have seen me," he said with a chuckle. "For nearly a week my head looked like a watermelon." "Come, the sooner we collect these herbs.." Malleus had thought that if he kept talking he could distract her and keep her from rising, but Serene had other ideas. He groaned peevishly. "The sooner we can find a den and finish our.... previous activities." His groan was cut off immediately. Without anymore protest he rolled to his paws. Malleus followed Serene's gaze, zoned in on the target, and then zipped passed her. In moments he had the entire horsetail plant (roots, dirt and all) in his jaws. He turned back to look at Serene and wordlessly quirked a brow. Plant harvested. Now all they needed was the ginseng. Malleus wanted nothing more than to spend more time with her and if she was going to withhold her affection until they were home, then by god, he was going to get them home in record time.

Serene Validis Amber orbs were entranced with the masculine beauty Malleus possessed, if just for a few moments. She hadn't notices the way the markings lining his face made his features look more sharp, more broad. Not to mention that the darkness contrast well with the lightness of his sapphire eyes. She adored his eyes so much, they reminded her of a clear summer day, or the vastness of the sea. Either way, they seemed to always stand out to her, and capture her very soul when they poured into her own. Tawny tipped ears rotated forward when Malleus spoke of the tale on how he gained his scars, especially when a mountain lion was involved. It was amazing that he even survived such an encounter, any other wolf would have been mauled far worse, but in the end Serene wasn't surprised. This was Malleus Abraxas they were talking about after all. But she did allow herself to chuckle a bit at the image of his head being the size of a watermelon, surely that would have been something she would have loved to see. As soon as the words had left her mouth, the silver male who had been reluctant to rise was suddenly bolting passed her, which made her eyes widen a bit as she stumbled. Amber eyes watch curiously to see what he was doing, but then struggled to contain her laughter at his face. The big bad Alpha, had ripped up the entire plant, and now it hung out of his lips. Serene placed a paw over her lips to try and stop herself from laughing, but it was no use, soft giggles slipped past and filled the air. "Eager, are we?" She teased, but it's not like she really minded. The plant was harvest and they would be home twice as fast now. Happily walking over to him, Serene offered him a gentle lick on his maw as a reward, before taking the horsetail from him. "Now all we need is ginseng, and I'll be all yours." This was great! If this was how she needed to motivate the male to get things done in record time, well it seemed like a sacrifice worth making. "Speech" <

As he'd hoped, Serene laughed at his antics. It was partially for show, but there was a ring of truth to it. He was eager to be home. Now, as for that final, blasted plant... Malleus' gaze swept across his surroundings as he searched for the ginseng. "If I were any less concerned," he said as he peered around Serene, "With getting you," He paused his search to nip at her left ear, "Home, I'd wonder why exactly I'm doing all the picking," he teased. His expression brightened as he spied what he thought was the characteristic red of ginseng berries some distance away. Knowing victory was in sight, he trotted to it. His tone lackadaisical, Malleus went on to say, "But seeing as I'm very much concerned indeed, I can't be bothered to wonder." Reaching the hint of red, Malleus swept the leaves away with a paw to reveal the body of the very plant he sought. This one would take longer to collect as he needed the root, but like the first, he intended to make short work of it. Immediately Malleus set to digging. The dirt around the root was soft and easily removed thanks to constant misting from the falls.
