The storm that had ripped her family and pack apart had ravaged the canyon for some time. After Seiran and Shilah were flung to shore by their mother Seiran had somehow found herself alone. Between the wind and debris it was too much for the young child, somewhere along the way as she stumbled through the darkness that the dwindling daylight and thick layer of storm clouds had brought on, she'd managed to make one wrong step as she toed the line next to the edge of the canyon where she'd hoped to find her family. Little claws slipped through the slick mud, throwing off her balance and before she knew it the floodwaters were wrapping around her in a frigid embrace, carrying her for an unknown length of time before instinct kicked in and she paddled towards the surface.

Too small to swim very well, the girl had been whisked away, head pulled under the surface numerous times as she was pulled far by the temporary stream the flood had formed. Time was lost to her, it could have been days, weeks, or only one night until she finally opened her glassy blue eyeswith a spluttering cough to rid her lungs of the water she felt there and her mouth of the taste of sand. Wait- sand? Pulling her legs under her, Seiran lifted her dark head to study her surroundings while she fought the headache that screamed through her entire skull.

The water here was quite low now, enough that her hind end was actually still half submerged while her head and chest rested on the grey-sanded shore. Reeds and small shrubs obscured her view for a time, so she slowly pulled her body into a standing position and plodded further from the burbling water. Her stomach growled it's protest as she crested the hill and found herself only a short walk from some caves. This was unfamiliar territory, definitely not the canyon, though the caves looked enticing enough. Scanning the surroundings, she felt a flutter of panic in her chest at the idea of being alone and far from home. Memories of that flood flashed through her mind and her lip quivered briefly before she managed to stop herself. No, she wasn't gunna freak out. Not yet, anyway. First she was going to curl up and dry off in the closest cave and make a plan. That was the smart thing to do, right?

So the child crept through the grass, staying low and sniffing the cave entrance thoroughly before deciding to enter. It seemed unoccupied to her. Sometime felt off, but since she couldn't put a paw on it the girl finally shrugged and settled down to groom herself and let her downy fluff dry for a while.
