Things in Abaven were slowly getting better. The family members that had taken over didn't seem all that bad, and he believed Peggy when she said she'd make sure things got better. Slowly the pain of losing his aunt Sparrow seemed to lessen, and despite his mother's health not getting any better.. well, it didn't seem to be getting worse so he supposed things could be worse. He was spending more time away from Abaven's lands lately, and today was apparently no exception. It was a crisp sort of fall day, the sort that helped make you feel truly alive, and Corvus had taken some time to head over to the neighboring falls.

The yearling heaved a wistful sigh as he neared the edge of the trickling falls, which were all too familiar to him. They were nothing like the dangerous rapids of his homelands, and he found himself calmed by the peaceful way the water fell down the hillside in a gentle cascade. Slowly he reclined to his haunches near the edge, shaking his head to adjust the red bandana that lay loosely looped around his neck. He'd found the thing recently, and decided he quite liked it after washing it out carefully in the rapids. It was slightly tattered and was far too big for his neck, but he had no other real option of tightening it.. unless maybe he had Aiden and Rhea help him, but he decided it worked for now. Staring at his reflection only further provided his initial thoughts - it looked pretty dang cool on him.

It became apparent that each time she met a new individual they were almost always at the edge of the water. Save for the two she had met the day prior, Space Boy was perhaps the most interesting. Water really did lure unsuspecting wolves in, and she was no different. However, this time, the individual was at the edge and as she looked up at him, she couldn't help for the words she uttered next to fall from her lips.

"You gonna jump?"

A snicker fell from her words, an obvious joke - Everest always had the best ways of starting a new conversation, apparently. Hell, her own jokes made her laugh. Damn, the poor kid looked like he was enjoying his time by himself - ah well. Shaking her head, she sauntered through the path, jumping from stone to stone until she was positioned just a few feet from him. The damp stones wavered beneath her weight and so her paws grasped it evenly. "Just kiddin'" She murmured, more to herself than to him. Her position was odd, she was still looking up at him halfway up the ledge.

No, he too was large. She would always have to look up at him.

Then again everyone was bigger than Everest.

"Speaking"

Corvus had been here before, and once again found himself meeting a rather beautiful girl around his age. His mood was much better than the last time he'd been here though, and he wasn't feeling nearly as dejected as he had been that day. Life was still a bit weird for him, but slowly was beginning to seem less strange, bit by bit.  Only briefly lost in his thoughts, he heard the approach of someone nearby just moments before they spoke, and lifted his head to see whoever it was, lifting his gaze over the falls. 'You gonna jump?' She asked, as if it were the most normal greeting in the world, and he hesitated a moment before answering. "No. Should I?" Corvus asked, his expression completely deadpan, unsure if she was joking with him or not. It wasn't a big jump, so it wasn't an outlandish question, but it certainly caught him off guard.

She quickly explained that she'd been joking, and he nodded awkwardly. Yeah, of course, he tried to tell himself - though he hadn't realized she was joking at all. Corvus focused his sea-green eyes on her, watching as she moved down from her position higher up the falls, hoping she was skilled enough on her paws to avoid slipping off the rocks. They were slightly shiny under the gleam of the midday sun, obviously slick from the spray of the falls.  "I know you were joking," Corvus said offhandedly, after an awkward pause.  "But I wouldn't mind jumping from here. Probably a lot more safe here than from where you are," he added pointedly, shrugging his oversized shoulders.
