This is my sanctuary
She'd wandered a little bit more than she had since rhyme had brought her here the other day. Though she couldn't figure out why he wanted her around. She wasnt exactly a helpful thing, she was too small for much and his pack likely had no good use for such a damaged woman. But who even understood the minds of alphas and those who were masters to those less useful. She didn't. "Do what Tana wants to do......" she barely even knew what he wanted her to do let alone what she wanted. She'd never been given that opportunity to be able to make her own choices. She didn't even know where to start. She still hadn't even moved to find her own den, maybe she should start there? Would he approve? She sat at the bank of a river, how she knew it was such was the sound of rushing water. Wind kisses her here and birds caressed her ears with their songs. It was peaceful. Alma and basil were back at the maple, left there as she asked them to stay so she could do some thinking. And to tell Rhyme were she went if he came back from his duties before she came back. She wouldn't want her new master to not be able to find her if he hadn't wanted her to wander about his territory. So far though he hadn't been so horrid to be near. In fact she sort of was enjoying being his slave. It was nice to not be barked at all the time or purposefully scared by someone all the time. Her ears were pinned in a relaxed manner as she sat there thinking things over. speech action |
Tana is a flighty individual, with absolutely no will to fight. She might get scared and run mid-thread, I apologize in advance for this. Its nothing against your characters, she has just had a tough past and has a hard time trusting anyone.
She promised Rhyme she would meet Tana first thing, and made for Rhymes den, but veered off course when her little bird indicated she should. Feather had never led her astray, and in moments she was approaching the blind wolf. She was by the stream, and looks peaceful despite her scars. Shaye paused for a long moment, before walking with purposeful sound towards her "Greetings... Tana, isnt it?" She called out before she arrived, giving the wolf warning of her approach. "I'm Shaye, my second, Rhyme, has told me about you." She settled down, giving the wolf some space. She was a little familiar now with wolves that scared easily, and was doing her best to keep herself sounding gentle in both her tone and steps.
"I've come to talk to you about Abaven, and your place here." She would explain, giving the wolf some time to think over her words, keeping silent after that to see what the other wolf had to say.

Her peace and silence seemed destined to be interfered with. She knew eventually rhyme might come to find her. What she hadn't counted on though was someone new to her. They made their approach loud enough she could almost pinpoint where they had come to stand. And the greeting was made louder as well. Her ears pinned and her head lowered immediately to the woman as she turned her marred face to the woman to answer her first question of Tana's identity. "Y-yes." timid was one way to describe the voice that came from her, though fearful was more accurate. The sound of approach stopped and she waited. She listened as the alpha, Shaye as she identified herself, spoke of Rhyme telling her about Tana and then mentioned wanting to talk to her about Abaven and her place here. Confusion lit her face. She thought Tana had to be told about her place? She knew, or at least she thought so. "I-i-im t-to do w-w-what Y-you and m-m-master R-Rhyme a-ask." she let her body fold closer to the ground, submission her first instinct. speech action |

The stammering answer wasn’t entirely unexpected, through it reminded her of Spider. Yes, it seemed Rhyme had brought in his own sad stray, and she was certain he had given her a look when she had coddled Spider. She couldn’t help but grin, because she knew her cousin really had a liquid heart, even if he sometimes pretended otherwise. There was simply too much of Rhythm in him, even if it was tainted with the blood of Valentine.
She looked at Tana, with her lowered head and submissive stance. She was blind and scarred, and it was clear that life had abused her terribly. It took the smile from her face, as she regarded this wolf with sadness. She grimaced as the other spoke about masters and obeying, through luckily the wolf could not see it. “Tana” she said, her voice soft. “There are no submissive wolves in my pack.” how to explain this, without scaring her off? “In Abaven, you will be protected, and cared for. You will also be treasured, and loved. My blind sister will teach you how to navigate this territory, she can teach you, if you wish, how to hunt as well. In return for this safe haven, I only ask that you try to understand our way of life. There are no masters here, only friends and family.”

Hearing her name she tilted her head up partially towards the Alphess. The next words were almost the hardest thing ever for her to comprehend. No submissive wolves? Did their slaves freely stand up to their masters and not get punished for it? Her protected? Loved? Teasured? The confusion couldn't be hidden on her face. She didn't completely understand. Then she said something more that shocked her. No masters? Only friends and family lived here? She didn't see how an alpha could not want to have a slave under them, but she sort of liked how it sounded. O-okay, I-I'll t-t-try." she still didn't come out of her submissive stance. she at least wasn't trembling though. She kind of wished Rhyme was here, call her a coward but she wanted to hide behind him right now. speech action |

“Thank you.” she murmured softly, as the girl promised to try. There was hope for her yet, but then Shaye already knew that. After all, she had followed Rhyme to Abaven. “now, I know its hard, but I need one more thing from you - I need to rank you in Abaven. Can you think of something you want to learn? Healing perhaps? Crafting?” she bit back the words like navigation and hunting, knowing the blind wolf would struggle too much with that right now. Vail had learnt both, but it was clear that Tana hadn’t been given a safe environment in in which to learn.

She was thanked, but she didn't get why. She had only said that she would try to do what they had just asked of her. She supposed she could view that as her orders. To try to be free. Though freedom was such a foriegn concept she didn't know how to be free. She listened as Shaye spoke of ranking her and asked what Tana wanted to do. The options were limited, but out of the two healing was the one that interested her most. She pawed at the ground nervously and hoped her answer for the woman wouldn't be unsatisfactory. After all she wasn't supposed to of done this under the care of Apostle. "I-I-I l-like h-herbs. I-I k-know I w-wasn't s-suposed t-to, b-but I u-used to l-listen i-into the h-h-healers m-meetings. I-if A-Apostle h-had k-known I p-probably w-would b-be d-d-dead." She turned her head away and her face scrunched in memory of the pain of apostle's fangs. She hadn't enjoyed him, he was always angry and liked to take it out on slaves. But Rhyme had been the total opposite. Her face relaxed as she thought of the touch Rhyme had given her. It was so gentle, like he cared. speech action |

Tana, stammering and shy, managed to get out her thoughts. She admitted to liking herbs, and also that this was something that would have gotten her killed in her old pack. She bit back her growl before it could form, knowing it would only frighten the poor girl. Still, a paw dug into the earth as she struggled to contain her emotion. There were simply some wolves in this world that deserved killing, and whoever had abused Tana this way. Well, they definitely fit into that category.
She wanted Abaven to be a place where wolves could be safe, but also one that would rise up and stand up for wrong doings. She wanted to protect wolves like Tana. as it was, she wanted to draw this poor woman in close, and shield her from the world. She wouldn’t do that, exactly, but she would coax her into a better state of being. She would promise her protection, and she would keep that promise.
“Healing is a wonderful profession. My sister is actually the lead healer, and I think you would do well learning from her. Would you like that? Vail is small, blind, and very sweet.” Shaye would say, finding herself able to smile again at the mention of her sister. She had a feeling even Tana couldn’t find Vail to be intimidating. “I want you to know you can always call out to me if you need me, Tana. if a situation frightens you, or you're uncertain about something. Any time of day, you can call for me. I won’t be mad, and I won’t hurt you. I will never hurt you.” Shaye swore to her. “In fact, I use to be a healer myself. So, if you have any questions about herbs and healing, there are a few people in the pack you can ask.” Shaye said, hoping the idea of learning would coax her to socialise with more people in the pack.
