Lips peeled back, a snarl erupting from the jaws of a young wolf as she stared daggers at the rump of a pig that escaped her clutches. Brows were brought together and her lips pulled back so far that her whole face was nothing but wrinkling skin. She was peeved at failing yet another hunt this morning, the lack of rain combined with heat really affecting her performance. How long had it even been since she had a decent meal and not scraps of what used to be a living creature? In an attempt to dismiss the failure, as anyone would hate to admit such a thing happened to them, she whipped around and scampered off into the vegetation.

After some time the earth-hued female would reappear in another section of the island, the northern end with towering trees. Her head was held low to the ground, green eyes sweeping across the little vegetation and nostrils flaring as she gathered any sort of scent of prey. Her steps were slow and placed carefully upon the ground, moving with purpose.

Velvette didn’t often visit the island, but unlike her brother she enjoyed the swim. Thankfully she wasn’t harassed by any crocodiles as he made her way over. As her paws touched the shore the spotted she wolf made her way into the unfamiliar branches of the trees. They didn’t seem to have grown in a normal patterns here, everything seemed much more.. perfect. There were straight rows of big old trees that she hadn’t seen anywhere else before. Her stomach rumbled and she remembered the main reason for even coming here. She sought food.

Ve didn’t mind the heat so much, her coat was short and there was usually a breeze if she sought high enough branches. The swim over had cooled her considerably as well. Her form relaxed as she settled on her branch, but her hackles were raised by the sound of hooves rushing through the underbrush. She saw a glimpse of swine as it raced past and her vivid gaze looked where it had come from. A wolf. She wasn’t one of the Songa, and had a good 10” on herself. Velvette found herself curious.

She silently followed the woman, she was obviously just as eager for a meal as Velvette was, but she wasn’t sure if she wanted to offer assistance. The two of them could take down a pig easily. Did she want to reveal herself though? Velvette considered her options as she lingered in the shadows of the branches and watched the woman.
