The more the days drag on, the more Leera finds herself slinking out of Erövrare and toward the battlegrounds, fully intent on sharpening her combat skills so that when the times of war and strife come -- and they will -- she will be ready, capable, powerful. Before long, her litter will be born and it'll be her responsibility to protect it, from whatever and whomever might come between her and them. Morning breaks over the edge of the field as she enters it, the wintry sun spreading a soft white light over the snowy ground. Leera wastes no time in inviting an opponent. Standing firm with her tail raised, the femme tilts her head back and lets out a series of calls, summoning another wolf for a battle. Whoever it may be, she isn't afraid. She waits silently. speech action

Basila's eyes lit up as soon as she heard the call ring through the air. She had been itching to do something, anything entertaining and this might just be the thing. Paws eager with anticipation she made her way towards where the call had originated from. Just who was prepared for a fight, she hoped they knew what was awaiting them.

Arriving at the battlefield she was met with an individual much shorter than she was. Were they insane? What was a wolf of their stature doing calling for a fight? They'd be better suited for finding herbs or something else. Bas would blow through this fight easily, were they even worth fighting? Basilia looked around to make sure this was the one who had called for a fight and yet there didn't seem to be anyone else around. Basilia looked at the other wolf with obvious disdain, it wasn't what she wanted but it would have to do.

The wolfess flattens her dark ears against her head, narrowing her eyes as a figure approaches in the distance. Inwardly, she's thrilled that an opponent has come so quickly, but the female that strolls her way is much taller -- however, this has never feigned too much of a problem for Leera. She's quicker than most, and a small target is one more difficult to successfully strike. "You look disappointed," she observes, an edge in her voice although her face remains expressionless. Instead, her pink eyes remain fixed on the other woman whose disdain hasn't gone unnoticed. "No matter, dear. Try and hit me." Head lowered, chin tucked, Leera anticipates her opponent's first attack. speech action

Basilia scoffed at the smaller wolf's comment, try and hit her indeed. "Try? you  underestimate me." Basilia was confident enough that saying such a thing was no matter. She knew she could take them on any day. After this scrap was over she was looking forward to catching herself some well deserved food.

Squaring herself off with her opponent Basilia's eyes lit up and her hackles rose as her lips formed a growl. Tucking in her chin and tail she begun her attack. Holding a growl in the back of her throat she took a sizable step forward  to trap the other's right paw under her left while swivelling the rest of her body to her left, hopefully twisting the other female's paw in the process. She would then go for the scruff of their neck, sinking her teeth in should they find purchase.

Leera underestimate her? Hasn't it been the other wolfess who's been doing all the underestimating? Nonetheless, Leera's ready. The hairs along her spine start to prickle and stand on end, making her appear a bit larger as the fur fluffs out. She pins her ears back and tucks in her chin as the other comes at her. Although she attempts to dodge the strike, Basilia is successful in capturing Leera's frontal leg and twisting it, making movement difficult. Leera squirms, thrashing as she attempts to rip herself from her opponent's grasp. She feels the sharpness of teeth burying into her scruff but yanks away in enough time that there's only a slight amount of blood. In retalliation, Leera tucks in her tail and throws herself back at Basilia, jaws wide as she attempts to lock her teeth into the other's left shoulder. Should she find purchase, she'll twist her head, attempting to break the skin and draw blood. speech action

Basilia made contact with the paw she had been aiming for, her moves almost successful the wolf slipped out of her grasp leaving only the slightest taste of blood in her mouth. The wolfess craved more of the crimcon liquid, oh how she missed the taste of it between her lips.

As the Smaller wolf escaped her teeth they came back with jaws ready to attack, they made contact with her left shoulder and she felt the teeth dig in to her soft pink flesh. However before the other wolf could do any more damage she redistributed her weight between her legs and raised her bitten shoulder causing more pain in the process. It came down with force hoping to make contact with the same paw again and should it do so it also came with the hope that the pain would make the other female release their hold on the shoulder.

Ensuring that her defenses were still set she narrowed her eyes and checked that her ears were still flattened. She made sure she had tucked in her tail then started growling with a scrunched up snout in the hopes that her growl would raise her fighting spirits and intimidate the enemy.
