Fight the fear, fight the fear

After an unsuccessful hunt that morning Rhea had wandered over to the rapids to stare at the churning water for a while, looking a little dejected as she padded with her head low and ears back. She'd been so stinking close too, ugh. She guessed there was no use stewing in her disappointment, but then again, not everything one did was useful. Sitting far back enough that she could still hear things other than the rapids, Rhea flopped down and sighed.
Being here reminded her of when she'd spoken with her aunt Sparrow not too far from this spot. She'd been a little pup then, terrified when her aunt suddenly appeared and warned her to be careful around the frothy water so she didn't fall in. She'd made it sound like someone might have fallen in before. Rhea didn't exactly have a super close relationship with her aunt, but it was still sad that she'd died. Huffing again, rhea turned to look skyward, green eyes squinting against the harsh sunlight that was finally breaking through the winter storm clouds. Today felt like a weird day. She didn't know why, it just... did.
