A slate-blue coydog with darker slate brindling bounces jauntily into the crowd with a wide open-mouthed grin on his face. He doesn't even really choose anyone so much as he stops with a cloud of dust before two of them. "Oh boy, I am so glad to be your guide today! Lucky you, you're the last two wolves to make it into this round!" he exclaims to Valkyrie and Archon. "I am just excited as all get out to watch the two of you! It's just going to be a fantastic ride! Hoowee, let's go have some fun!" He proceeds to practically drag the two of them to a circle of small stones set into the ground in a ring, like an overly-happy camp counselor ushering a pair of reluctant children to an activity. "I'm just tickled pink to be able to decide which one of you two amazing people are going to go to the next round! Just remember not to step out of the circle, because then you automatically forfeit!" He made an exaggeratedly sad face at that idea. "Now I would be pleased as punch if you would be willing to start us off!" he added to Archon.

A chipper and annoying coydog came up to Archon and the remaining member and dragged them off to a stone circle. Archon inspected the stones warily. Well, he had agreed he was game. He wanted to see where he was lacking and where he could improve to further glorify God's name.

The dog said he was to start. "Very well."

Archon looked across to his opponent. He wasn't sure who she was really. He didn't remember her, although it was totally possible she had seen him in the past.

Archon readied his defenses, flagging out his tail and lowering his head as his hackles raised and ears tucked. He launched himself at his opponent, Obi breaking early to try to come at Valkyrie perpendicularly to her right at at 90 degree angle. Obi aimed to tackle and grab Valkyrie while Archon attempted to slam her with her chest and bite the entirety her left ear.

Archon and Obi simultaneously hoped their combination of attacks would be a good enough divide Valkyrie's attention while Archon went for the big damage.

Valkyrie narrowed her eyes at the overly enthusiastic coydog, but said nothing. If the diminutive creature did his job well she couldn't complain too much, now could she? She did wonder how exactly he'd managed to score a place with the adults and not with the children where she thought his exuberance would be more appreciated.

She eyed her opponent thoughtfully as the large male stepped into the ring. He was taller, heftier and older than her and presumably had more experience so this would be interesting. Valkyrie was never one to turn down a challenge, though.

Archon began to run at her and Valkyrie decided two things in the first couple seconds. One, she wasn't about to let that big guy run into her because he'd catapult her out of the ring and two, she was going to have to fight dirty if she was going to stand a chance. So she fled.

A sudden burst of speed took her outside the reach of both Archon and his companion, although the latter of whom glanced off her rump as she ran and left nail marks on her right hip. She looped around the ring and then leapt forward with all the force her hind legs could muster; all four paws off the ground, intent on landing on Archon's back with her claws out. Her goal was to straddle him, her hind claws digging into the hollows behind his ribs and her front claws digging into the tops of his shoulders. Yeehaw!

The woman was fast for her size. Archon contributed it to her small frame. The woman hauled herself around, Obi landing a glancing blow across her rump. He shot Archon an apologetic look, but Archon dismissed it- he had nothing to be sorry for. Neither of them were fighters by nature, although maybe they ought to give it a serious reconsidering.

The large but light woman sprung into attack, her paws out. Only Obi's look of surprise tipped him off. Archon only had a second to glance behind him and see her looming form. Archon only had one idea. He coiled his back legs towards his chest, readying to kick. Just as Valkyrie went to land- just as her claws started to puncture the skin, Archon uncoiled, aiming to buck the light woman off of him and hopefully out of the ring [counter?].

Time seemed to slow down as Valkyrie sailed through the air. She saw everything in slow motion. Archon shifting his weight to his front legs, his back legs rising. Briefly she wondered if she was going to plow chest-first into his rump, but all too quickly it became clear what was going to happen. And then time sped back up.

Archon's hind paws connected with Valkyrie's lower belly and the force of that blow was enough to push her hind end up. This combined with the forward momentum from her jump caused Valkyrie to begin to roll midair. For the briefest of seconds Valkyrie was suspended handstand-like over Archon's shoulders and then her momentum sent her flying over Archon's head and into the sand.

Inga, seeing that Valkyrie was in trouble, rushed forward. The baby macaque was so tiny compared to Archon she didn't think he'd even notice a bite from her, but she had to try. She threw herself at the back of Archon's left front leg intent on sinking her teeth into his ankle.

Valkyrie, meanwhile, was still on the ground in front of Archon. Though winded she pressed on, quickly rolling to her belly and lunging forward in the hopes of driving the right side of her chest into Archon's right foreleg.

Once the fight was called in her opponent’s favor Valkyrie stepped back and dropped her defenses. She regarded Archon with an unreadable expression for a moment before nodding approvingly to herself. She grinned, unperturbed by the loss, and said, “Good fight, stranger.”

She turned to leave and then paused. After a beat she glanced over her shoulder and shot Archon an impish grin. "I’m going to come looking for a rematch one of these days.” He smelled like a leader. Perhaps someday with a bit more experience under her belt Valkyrie would raid him and his. She wasn't being hateful and it wouldn't be an act of vengeance. It would, however, be great fun.
