Spring had arrived, making it easier for her to continue her search. She had holed up during the winter, recovering from the flu she had contracted during her travels with the various bands she used to get here. She adored the Spring season. It meant herbs of all kinds would start blooming, making it a healers season to collect herbs for the rest of the year. But she wasn't on that kind of mission at the moment. She had finally caught wind of her sons scent, so she started her search once again. With the snow gone, it made it much easier to try to track him down. She missed her children. Her heart ached to see them again. She wondered how they were doing. If they were faring well. If they were safe. Fed. She had no doubt they could take care of themselves, but after what had happened to Yale, she worried for them. Of course, a mothers worry was natural. And she hoped to find them soon so that maybe she wouldn't worry so much. She wanted to know how they were doing, maybe even join them...wherever they might be.

He had traveled West from Lirium, still hoping to explore as much of the foreign country as he could. With Spring came the realization that he had already spent a year in the country and was now a fully grown adult. He hadn’t seen hide nor hair of Philomena since autumn and slowly he began to realize that their plans to take vengeance for the crimes committed against their fathers were over before they even began.

Célestin had also been distant lately, and in truth that hurt him more than his disappointment in Philomena, mostly because, in spite of what Cél told him, he believed it was within his power to help him.

He stood on the edge of the basin and sighed, watching the grasses wave in the spring breeze. He watched a doe pull at the long grasses and raise her head to regard the wolf while her spotted fawn pressed close against her leg. He stood and slowly meandered away from them, indicating that he meant them no harm. He had found both of his sisters in Boreas but they had vanished as soon as they had appeared making him feel even lonelier. Home had come to him for a short time only to be taken away. He looked out over the waving grasses again and paused, among the vibrant green waves he saw a distinct golden fleck by the pool of water and the basin’s center. His heart stopped, familiarity pulling at his mind while doubt warred against it. Slowly he paced closer, his long legs keeping his head over the sea of grass, his mouth agape. As he came closer to the figure and recognized it as another wolf he started to move faster, then as the honey colored markings in her fur became apparent, he began to run.

“Mother!” He shouted, a wide grin spreading over his features. Had his father come with her? Had the Abraxas fallen without his knowledge? His mind raced with possibilities and yet was washed blank with elation that his mother was here.

The Queenly woman took a deep breath as she inhaled the fresh spring scent. The day was warm, a cool breeze sweeping across the grassland. She had found a pool of water, long legs carrying her to the edge as she lowered her crown to drink. Her gaze was fixed ahead of her, watching the grass sway and the clouds drift across the sky as she drank. These lands were peaceful, and it was finally a relief to be able to somewhat relax now that she had arrived at her destination and was no longer in a hurry, unlike the rogues she had traveled with. While she appreciated the experience, neither the rogue life nor the traveling band life was for her. She had grown up in a kingdom all her own, stationed to a few lands that she looked after. Traveling from place to place was exhausting in more ways than one, and she very much preferred a more stable life.

"Mother!" The golden woman's crown lifted quickly, her head turning to find an all too recognizable form coming towards her. Eyes widened a bit in surprise. "Pegasus!" She moved quickly to reach him, her heart soaring at the sight of her son. It seemed he had found her instead of the other way around. She was incredibly happy that she didn't have to keep searching for him. Even as she trotted towards him, she carried herself with all the elegance and grace she had been bred, born, and raised with. And upon reaching her larger son, she sought to press her nose to his neck. "Oh my dear Pegasus, it is so good to see you again!"

“Mother!” He cried again, tucking his head in an attempt to press it against her chest in a loving gesture if she allowed it.

“What are you doing here? How did you get here?” He asked, a thousand questions racing through his mind through a heady cloud of pure elation. He lifted his head suddenly, almost searching for a sign of his regal father and coming up short. That was good he supposed, he knew his father wouldn’t risk being taken as a slave by the Abraxas by returning to the strange land. “It’s been so long.” He muttered, realizing all too late just how long it had been since he left his home.
