It wasn't stupid, it was a matter of pride and probably a matter of boredom as well. Pyralis gracefully dipped her head to sniff at the blood-stained paw prints. She'd managed to bring down an injured doe and had quickly filled her stomach. While she'd been resting a grizzly bear had decided to make off with the rest of the kill and that just did not sit well with her. The goddess abhorred the idea of a meal being stolen right out from under her even if the perpetrator was several times bigger. Lifting her crown and tail high she trotted along the trail. The bear hadn't bothered to disguise its path, why would it. There were probably few animals in the forest willing to tangle with such a beast. Pyralis was not one. A gray sleety drizzle rattled against the trees as the leaves above her shuttered. The day was reasonably warm for winter but she knew that as soon as night fell the rain would freeze and turn to snow. She turned to eye the sun as it dipped lower toward the horizon. She better start making a move on. Pyralis had no desire to spend the night marching through snow. "Talk" "You" Think

The stench of blood filled his nasal passages as the monster slithered his way along the river. What had turly caught his attention was the horrible smell of a Bear. It was nearly similar to the Polar Bear he fought with the Erovrare males, but this time it was a Grizzly. Both were rather intimidating and Hannibal was sure to steer clear of the beast. He initially figured the blood smells would have come from the Bear but as he slithered closer to the Orchard his eyes fell upon a fae with blood at her claws. With a raise of his brow the male opened his jaws to allow the various scents to fall upon his lulled tongue. Bear, Blood, and a pack. He identified her particular scent with that of the pack down south past the land bridge. This fact only caused his curiosity to grow. Hannibal moved carefully through the thicket as rain peppered his back with little water droplets. The downfall caused a gentle hum throughout the land which caused his senses to get all muddled. He knew there was a Bear nearby but it was getting hard to track its location with the influx of scents. He made a move to get closer to the female but as he took a few steps a very low grumble could be heard from the thicket to his right. Hannibal was currently about 13 feet away from the strange female and at her rear. His pad falls stopped and his head turned to get a look at the brush in which the rumble came from. As he did so the Bear charged forth and the albino ran forward towards the babe. "RUN NOW!" Hannibal weaved through the trees with hopes the Bear would be slower then his lithe legs and the stranger would do something. ""

Pyralis was making good progress. She crossed over a trail of blood and a few patches of fur. The drizzle continued to drift down over her and her ears twitched, flicking the water back into the air. Her nostrils flared, picking up the tang of blood. Oh, yes, she was definitely on the right track. It wasn't long before she came across the rest of the kill. A pair of ravens looked up from their meal and took off into the air at the sight of her. Hmm… here was the kill, but where was the bear? Pyralis swore. Well, that was a revolting development. She heard something behind her and turned to see a strange piebald male. Yet another beast drawn to her leftovers? She was about to make a sassy comment when she heard a deep, rumbling growl. Oh… shit. A massive grizzly bear burst out of the brush just as the man yelled at her to run. Pyralis dove to the side, just missing a swipe from the bear. One hit with those massive claws could be lethal. She didn't fancy getting run over by the bears bulk either. Pyralis swiftly leapt forward, he defenses seamlessly set as she dove for the bear's right hind leg. Her fangs bit deep at the lancing blow, meant to draw blood rather than to gain a grip. The bear whipped around with incredible speed but Pyralis just managed to dance out of the way. She swiftly put a distance of fifteen feet between herself and the bear. It settled between her and the strange and eyed both wolves, letting out a bellowing roar. Pyralis glanced at the man and grinned. "I will leave when I have had my price paid in blood. What say we live a little dangerously?" The bear didn't give a crap about either wolf's intentions and as Pyralis was the one to speak she quickly drew the bears attention. It charged again. As Hannibal ran away from the Bear the stranger dove out of his way. He was silently thankfully she was intelligent enough to avoid the rampage but soon her voice caused the males brow to raise. Not before long snapping jaws and growls filled the air. Hannibal went wide eyed as he heard her daring words. Well, he was not about to let this lady fend off a Grizzly on her own! Therefore the piebald male decided to dive into battle as well. Paws dug into the earth as he pivoted around to face the Bear's left side. The massive creature was focused on the stranger which meant it was prime time for Hannibal to do some damage. The albino flung himself forward in a full on barreling sprint towards the Bears front right shoulder joint, but he came at him from the rear to avoid both fangs and claws. Hannibal let forth a growl as his own teeth made purchase right at the fleshy bits under the joint and his head thrashed in order to leave a lasting mark. But, as he did so he gained the attention of the beast. Suddenly the Bear moved to stand up on hind legs and Hannibal sure as hell was not going with him. Jaws separated from skin and the male moved back to avoid whatever the Bear had planned next. The Bear charged at the stranger as he slammed his front half back on the ground. Hannibal's eyes went wide and he flung himself back towards the Bear to land another bite but at the back left portion of neck. Front paws scrambled to maintain grip on the larger creatures body in order to hopefully pull at the flesh. Blood soaked Hannibal as his head thrashed. There were easily moments where his hind legs did not meet the ground anymore. Hannibal's plan worked as the Bears attention was once again gained. Trashing could be felt in order to shake Hannibal off and it was successful. The piebald was flung to the earth and he scrambled to his paws. Hopefully his new companion would do something before the Bear charged again! ""

Pyralis ducked gracefully out of the way of the bear's arcing claws, just barely missing a blow to her head. Her hind legs bunched beneath her as she sprang upwards, jaws wide, seizing hold of the underside of the bears throat. Too much fur, too much fat, too much muscle. She realized quickly there was no quick way to beat this thing.The bear roared and swiftly stood on too feet. Pyralis was quick to let go having no desire to dangle there helpless where the creatures razor sharp claws could easily gut her. She saw the male drop from his grip on the bear's shoulder, blood staining his maw. Pyralis scrambled back, her defenses set as the bear charged once more. The strange male leapt upon the bear's back and she let out a whoop. "Yea!" The bear's attention turned fully on the male as it roared in pain and fury and did it's best to shake its attacker from its back. Pyralis took her cue and charged in at the bear as it thrashed, trying to reach back and remove the piebald male. When the bear turned its head so the right side was facing her she dove in and took a flying leap to sink her teeth into the bears throat once more, ripping further into the wound she'd previously created. The bear thrashed violently sending the male flying as well as herself. She crashed into a drift of melted snow and mud. Dazed, she scrambled to her feet. The bear hesitated and took a few steps back as it eyed the wolves. "Talk" "You" Think

The two matured Wolves faced the giant Bear. All parties panted and filled with a mild sense of pain. Hannibal's jaws were covered in crimson as his eyes whipped from the Bear, to the stranger, then back to the Bear in a flurry. His baritone vocals were but a deep growl, "Are you ready to kill this fucker?" A grin was flashed in her direction as the pale heathen darted towards the Bear with rippling growls. He aimed for the Bear's left before quickly darting to the right in hopes to fake out the slower creature. Hannibal was tall and light, an excellent runner. The albino quickly sprinted towards the Bear's right abdomen and locked on with teeth at the lower ribs. Snarls and snorts could be heard as the vicious Wolf thrashed. He hoped along with his fake the stranger would be able to attack as well. Maybe in due time one of them would hit a vital artery and the giant would fall due to blood loss. ""

Pyralis shook herself and reset her defenses, taking a step forward for ever step the bear took back. She wasn't ready to just let the fight be over, especially now that her opponent was on the ropes. A wiser wolf might have declared the fight over but she was primed for violence and wished to taste victory. Are you ready to kill this fucker? She grinned as she eyed the man. "Oh, darling, nothing would make me happier." The man darted forward, seizing hold of the bears ribs and it stepped back and roared, trying to stand on its hind legs to pull it's undersides away from the wolf. As the bears head tilted back she saw her opening. Aiming for the previous gash on the bears throat she darted forward and leapt, her fangs sinking deep into the creatures neck, her front legs wrapping around the creatures neck as she tried to hold on. Her head thrashing from side to side. At the same time he attacked Alkali dove down, her talons ripping into the bears face, gouging out one of its eyes. When the bear finally dislodge the flailing Pyralis and knocked her hawk aside it stumbled, blood spurting from the wound at its neck. "Talk" "You" Think
