She lounged on the boulder, eyes closed as she soaked in the Spring sunshine. It was a rare moment of rest for the Spirit, and she was enjoying the heat, knowing that soon enough, evening would fall and it would be time for another patrol, checking in with the sentries to ensure everyone was at their posts for their shift, and then speaking with Laisren about their first pack hunt as Valhalla. A deep sigh swelled her ribs, blowing out in a hiss through her nostrils as her mind turned back to her pup-hood. Back before her initial training. An unconscious smile tugged at her lips as she watched the memory of her parents giving her and Aramis speech lessons. The delight in their eyes when she or her twin got a word right. The memories jabbed at an ache in her heart, but she was brought careering out of self-pity by a sudden yank on her tail, a growling yelp escaping in a soujnd that sounded remarkably like a “Yai!!” as she spun to face the wolf or beast who had grabbed her tail and interrupted her rest. Justice was coming back from a patrol - she tried to take roaming patrols as much as possible to leave sentry duty for the pups, though they were probably old enough to be doing real patrols now too - when she spotted Aurielle sunning herself on one of the few boulders. Justice was still pretty fresh after her patrol, and now that the scarring on her face was healing (it wasn't healing prettily, but that really didn't matter much to her) she was feeling rather cocky and spirited again. So when she saw the alpha lazing around, a wicked grin split her muzzle and bared her fangs. Dropping into a crouch, she made her way step by silent, slow step closer and closer until she was in range of the flowing tail dangling over the edge within reach... and then she pounced! The long hairs in her grasp, she gave a sharp tug before letting go and leaping away again. Aurielle gave a very gratifying screech and leaped like a scalded cat before spinning around. Justice bounced back and forth, looking for all the world like a roly-poly pup. "Wake up, Lazybones! Going to get fat and spoiled sitting up there with no exercise," she cackled. She fake-pounced towards the alpha again, her tail waving slowly in the air behind her, all the while grinning maniacally. "Tragic! In the prime of your life and you're already a washed up old woman who can't catch me."

Imagine Aurielle’s surprise – nay, shock – as her eyes landed on none other than Justice Ancora, bouncing with her tail in the air like an excited puppy. Then it clicked. Justice had tugged her tail. The words cackled at her registered, and a slow, bemused grin tugged its way onto her features, her recently tugged tail waving slowly behind her as she cocked her head. After growing up around a Justice who was snarky, even grumpy, this… bouncy, cackling woman was a new experience. A soft laugh escaped her as the bemusement turned to a sparkle in her eyes. Suddenly she vaulted from the boulder, snaking her head out to nip toward Justice's flank, though she aimed only to click her teeth shut on air as she opened up and bolted across the plains, a laugh filtering over her shoulder as she grinned, almost wickedly, over her shoulder at Justice, calling, “If you were this eager for a race you just had to ask!” She was grateful for the older woman’s unwitting intervention on her worrying. It made her thankful that this was a part of the pack’s customs. Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Hear" ---- Think

Truth be told, if she had been looking to play a game she had any hope of winning it would definitely not have been a race or catch-me-if-you-can. With her heavy, stocky build she was definitely built for strength, not agility. She was the bear to Aurielle's panther and the difference certainly showed. When Aurielle spun and nipped at her, Justice snapped her jaws back, but even if she hadn't been keeping a distance from actually connecting the bite would have missed as the alpha took off at a run. Justice applied herself valiantly to the chase at a lumbering sprint, her tongue lolling out of one side of her mouth, but she had little hope of actually catching the slimmer wolf in the short term. Oh, if it was an endurance race she would probably wear Aurielle down eventually, but Justice was far from cheetah-like. Still she gave it a good shot, and rattled off a series of deep, staccato barks at Aurielle's heels. "Oh, too scared to face me then, Adravendi?" she sneered playfully as she panted along while the barks echoed in the distance. "This what you going to do next time we get raided? Run?" She put on the brakes abruptly and snatched up a stick instead. Flipping it in the air, she called out, "Got your pack's stick, what you gonna do about it?" Catching it on it's way back down, she turned and bounded heavily in another direction. Easy prey for the faster wolf - or was she?

Aurielle couldn’t help the giggle that escaped at the staccato barks Justice threw her way,, and when she heard the sudden skid of paws throwing on brakes, she leapt, twisting to face the dark Ancora, claws raking into the dirt as her momentum sent her sliding backward a foot, leaving her in a light bow, tail flagging behind her in a hairy wave. “Oh, no. Raiders shall get the same welcome they got last time they were too brazen for their own good. I hear you did very well in that fight.” She grinned at Justice’s stick flipping and leapt after the woman as she took off with it, her own tongue lolling in wolfish laughter as her legs flashed beneath her. She took less of a racing method in this chase, instead seeking to surge up alongside Justice’s right hip and looking for a moment where the older wolf’s paws were off the ground before dropping her left shoulder and aiming to drive her weight into the point of her shoulder to collide playfully with Justice’s hip, near the midpoint of the thigh, hoping to knock her off kilter and tumble her. Regardless of success, she pushed off in her stride with her back feet and leapt in a tackle, aiming to land on top of Justice with a play growl. Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Hear" ---- Think
