For the love of turkey

Turkey happened to be Rhyme's favorite meal of all time. With spring now upon them he found himself feeling excitement for Turkey chicks. They were not as large a meal, but they were savory little feather bags. It was later in the evening going into sunset and had found a flock in the thicket. He had just been taking a quick rest when he heard them rustling about in the underbrush.
Rhyme repositioned himself quietly, rolling his feet underneath him slowly. His bright blue and purple gaze didn't leave the three turkeys and their five chicks. He kneaded his paws beneath him in anticipation, and his tail twitched lightly behind him. How was the best way to go about this little hunt?

Allegro had taken notice to the population of turkey within the thicket of the pack. Normally he would aim for bigger prey to help feed the pack, but tonight he was looking for a quick and tasty snack for himself. He hadn't had turkey before, but the birds to him looked fairly tasty so he was interested in trying out the bird. He hadn't hunted them before and he hoped he would be successful with his first try.
He was quiet as he stalked through the thicket keeping himself alert as he moved. He didn't want to spook the creatures. He knew they were headed to their roosting spots and now was a good time to hunt them. As he moved through the plains he had almost missed the dark form of Rhyme, but he could see the turkey's nearby and that's what he saw first. The more the male studied them, he noticed Rhyme sitting nearby. Sinking low to the ground the male would quietly crawl up to Rhyme without disturbing the birds nearby.

Rhyme hadn’t realized he had company, movement was caught at the corner of his eye. He hated to take his eyes off the birds, but as she shifted his gaze he caught sight of Allegro. One of Abaven’s resident hunters. What a fantastic coincidence. Rhyme grinned broadly at the appearance of his pack mate. He hadn’t gotten to know the pale wolf well, but he knew they were related somewhat closely. Second or third cousins, maybe?
He nodded in the direction of the birds with an eager smile. ”Care for a hunt?” He whispered softly, not loud enough that the birds could hear him. He’d wait to tell the other male how much he enjoyed the current prey.
He usually hunted these by himself, he wondered how they might take on this challenge together. It would be a good bonding experience with a pack mate as well. Working close together like this could tell him a lot about Allegro.
