The days were passing rather slowly, but at least the pack was still under his brother's control. Tyranis had emerged victorious after the traitorous albino attempted to challenge for it, and he was glad. He could breathe easier now that he didn't have to worry and wonder what would happen with his nieces and nephews if Hannibal had won. But now that it was all done and over with, his thoughts began to drift to his mother. Was she still alive? Would Abaven tell them of her passing if she wasn't? He felt things were tense between them and Abaven, but he hoped that they'd have the decency to tell them if it came down to it. He wandered around one side of the lake, paws kissing the sandy beach of the lake as darkness started to fall. Fireflies began to emerge, dancing around the water and lighting up the surface of the water.

She had wanted to get out of the pack lands for a while now, since arriving in Abaven all she had been doing was resting and restoring her energy. She had been catching up with Corentine and also had been getting to know her granddaughter as well, something that helped to keep her spirits up. Today Corentine had gone with her to the lake and let her relax on the shores while she did some herb hunting not far off. Like always Eli was stuck to Storm's side, not wanting to leave her completely alone.
Quietly the older women listened as the sounds began to change around her. Frogs and crickets began to sing their songs and the air got notably cooler. She imagined that her daughter was finishing up and would soon be back to help her back to Abaven, to her den. Storm had decided to take residence back in her old den, the one that her first litter had been born into. She found comfort every time she was near it and couldn't imagine a better place to rest. She was surprised that she was even still around, but there was some purpose she was sure.
Corentine had told her of Ty's fight and it was something that had been on her mind since she had been told. She worried over him, Cloud, and Thora every day and feared the day that Ty wouldn't be victorious. Though things sounded like they were civil at the fight Storm still felt Ty was headed down a dark path and she was heartbroken that she couldn't help him.

A splash in the water startled him for a moment, the male quickly turning to face the lake only to realize it had just been his companion pulling a fish out. He watched him fly to a nearby tree with his freshly caught meal before he sighed with annoyance. He didn't very much like surprises or being startled, and his companion had done both. The young male turned away to continue his walk along the shore when the all too familiar scent of his mother washed over him. His breath hitched in his throat for a moment as his heart pounded in his ears. He wasn't sure if he had expected his mother to be out here, but he was glad she was. It meant she was still alive, and hopefully, still going strong. Maybe they had more time together than he initially thought, and his fears slowly melted away.
Hurrying to track her down, he found her soon enough and uttered a low bark to let her know he was there. He didn't hesitate to approach her, tail wagging and a smile plastered to his face. She did't look the healthiest, but he attributed that to her old age and the sickness that plagued her. Despite his worries, however, his happiness at seeing her trumped that. He was concerned, yes. But he would help her where she needed it and love her until her last breath and beyond. "Mother, it's so good to see you again!" He murmured as he pressed his head gently into the fur of her neck. He breathed in her scent, wishing he could go back to the days as a pup again.
