Ocena

More wandering. Somehow that didn't surprise Ocena anymore. She had spent less time in her home recently. Some of it was scouting, sure, looking for a place to explore with her family, but a lot of it was also that suddenly their territory was extremely distasteful to Ocena. She didn't want to spend much time in Tortuga unless she was in the company of her darling mate. Unless Gargoyle and her children were near, Ocena didn't want to be there. She was ready to leave the shadow of the mountain that could erupt at any moment, and wanted to be as far away from that place as possible as much as possible. It was bearable in exchange for the company of Gargoyle. But otherwise? No.

And thus, Ocena had begun to wander a lot as spring began to warm up. There were hints of summer on the air, but they were muted, hidden by the thick scents of blooming flowers and pollen on the air. Birds fluttered high above in the air, and with a twitch of her ears, Ocena took in all of those scents, her tail waving lethargically in the air behind her as she padded along, looking rather contented in that moment. In a place like this, it was easy to forget that not too far away, a rumbling volcano could erupt at any moment.

Contment filled Ocena's thoughts as she padded along, plumy tail waving slowly and each step careful as she moved along. Her steps were surprisingly smooth as her thoughts turned once more to the litter that would surely enter the world soon, a warm smile on her features as she made her way along.

A rogue the male was, and he would be for a long time. He wanted to visit Glaciem and see if it was right for him, but then the fall of Gargoyle came. And maybe it wasn't the best time to adventure into the pack. Besides, he knew nothing of Glaciem. They were a pack of love, care, sure they were strong in their defenses, but what made them strong was the way they held on to each other, they were family. And Rumble could not handle that. If only he knew.

His nose gently sniffed the ground, head low as his paws moved to the soil. It was spring, he was three and a half and more mature than a 7 year old. His skills were enhanced, he truly was something different. He knew how to survive like he had to everyday, he knew how to kill when the time came. If only they could come to use now, in the land that didn't reside of ash and dust.

He picked up a sent, a mixture of two packs, something that seemed odd to him. And so his nose took control and his paws padded to the exotic scent. His navy and maroon eyes soon came to a halt, the grass overtaking his entire being. He tried to lift his head and retrive the smell, but only the wind brushing though the greenery would let him know where to look. And as his paws tapped down on the warm soil, birds flew scarce of the winds. And soon enough, a clearing came and so did he.

It was his own reflection, white chest and face, one blue and one red eye, their orbs going against each other. So was it a reflection? He approached the figure, looking into the eyes. And he only knew there was one way to find out if this was another wolf or just his own imagination. He cocked his head to the side, and put out a paw closer to the mirror, and if it were to mirror his actions, then he had truly gone insane.
