She had finished a border patrol and decided to head out for some much needed exploration. It seemed that the first half of her life, she had spent as much time as she could exploring the world outside of pack lands. And then the latter part, after Torin had demoted her to Girvin, she had spent a lot of time inside the pack. Even when she was promoted to Storm, she hadn't really gone out of the pack much, but she was starting to miss exploring the world she lived in. She found a path that led into what seemed like an underground cave. Peering into it, she didn't think she had been anywhere underground before, but she couldn't remember if she had or not. Caves? Yes. But not underground. With the rain still falling on her back, she decided she might as well explore this place and get out of the rain for a little while.
Carefully, she walked the path that led further in. She could hear and smell water, and soon the path was met with a stream that trickled beside it. She paused for a drink of water, noting how cool and crisp it tasted with a hint of a mossy and earthy taste, unlike the watering holes back in Lirim. Curious, she continued her trek and breathed in. The smell of earth and moss down here was refreshing, and whatever negative feelings she might have had filtered away as if absorbed by her surroundings. |
