Highway Tune
Arete- "You poor thing, lost and alone. You should have listened to me when I told you to turn left at that last boulder."
Elpida- "B...but we did. W...w..we f...ollowed every ord-"
Arete- "Shut up you piece of pond scum! You are a worthless fool! You are the reason we are lost!"
Eve perked her ears then flattened them tight against her skull.
Arete- "Eh? You have something to say Callia?"
Calila seized control of Eve's head and shook her cranium in response.
A whimper wound its way through the gritted teeth of Eve. The girl was not a fan of being alone. However, she felt betrayed by all in the world.
Elpida- "You know what happens to those who are alone," she said as a moment of silence fell. "They die... a slow and agonizing death."
Arete- "We made it this far haven't we?" the female snarled.
Eve's lips rose, and teeth shown white as Arete took hold of Eve's actions.
Eve- "Can you all please be quiet?" asked the timid girl.
Arete- "You better keep your mouth shut before I make you jump off the boulder," she replied.
Eve- "I... I said please," Eve whined softly. The female now hung her head, and swayed her skull back and forth in a soothing rhythm.

"Talk" Walk He ventured out to the nearby lands after he finished his border patrol. Things were changing soon, not only could he feel it but his uncle had said so. His uncle had plans to start a pack, and Ig couldn't help but feel both excited and a little bummed. He didn't want to leave his friend Corvus, and wished his friend could go with him. He thought about asking Corvus to go, too. But he was afraid he'd get turned down and disappointed if Corvus decided that he'd rather stay in Abaven. He took a deep breath and sighed as he continued to climb the rocks, his thoughts feeling uneasy about the future. While he knew he could bloom in his uncle's future pack, he hated the idea of having to start over and make new friends...if he had to, he'd try. But Corvus wouldn't get off his mind and he wasn't totally sure why. Maybe it was the fact that the earthen boy was his only real friend...yeah, that was it.
Nearly lost in thought, his ears would perk and his head lifted when he heard someone talking up ahead, though whoever it was was still hidden behind the rocks that littered this place. He stood still for a moment and listened, his brows pulling and raising as he heard bits and pieces of what sounded like a conversation. Curious, he decided to continue forward until he saw a black wolf standing there and slowly swaying her head back and forth. A quick look around told him she was alone, but...he swore he thought he heard her talking to someone else. "Hey, is everything alright?" He kept his wits about him in case there really were others around, and the fleeting thought that he had just walked into an ambush crossed his mind so he remained on guard and ready to fight if need be. |
