She managed to get her aunt to the rapids without shaking, but as she backed away from her aunt and the wolves that would see to her Poem decided she didn’t want to be in their company. Wet ash caked her pale fur and gradient markings, she looked more like a mud puddle than a young wolf. Her head was hanging and her tail remained low as she lost site of the rest of the pack. He paws were taking her back to the den, but as the adrenaline faded Poem realized all that she had just been through.
Tears pricked at her eyes as she lowered to the ground and curled in on herself. So much destruction, and her brush with death. Because of Noir. She knew her half brother didn’t care for her, and it was obvious that he was jealous of both her relationship with Edgar and her position as her mother’s heir. He’d really started to despise her after their spar, but once his mother was gone it was worse.
Then the evening of being so close to the fire caught up to her and she started coughing. It wasn’t serious, but a couple of them were less than pleasant. The last thing she wanted was to return to the meeting place where everyone had gathered, but she also needed to soothe her lungs and throat.
