Frosty Beginnings
Meet and greet?

Fracture trod into the sparse plains with the renewed confidence of a wolf with a new home. The ground felt cold beneath his feet, even though the summer sun had chased the frost and snow away. He didn't know a single soul who he'd share this northern territory with, but he intended to put his best paw forward and waste no time learning who these wolves were.
Lifting dark head to the skies he let loose a cheerful howl, though he was exceedingly careful to not sound commanding nor dominant. The sound came out almost infused with a bark, and it ended as abruptly as it started. Surely someone close by would have heard the brief call, and he hoped they might be curious enough to meet their new packmate.

His ears lifted at the call a rabbit held firmly in his jaws as he moved through the pines toward the den he and paradise had chosen for themselves and their children. He had yet to acquaint himself with anyone in the pack that he hadn’t already known but thought that now would be as good a time as any to rectify that. He stashed the rabbit cautiously and moved toward the black male with his head raised and his eyes alert, carrying himself with the cadence of a king as he hadn’t done in so long.
“Greetings.” He spoke softly, tipping his head slightly in a show of respect. Even as a king small pleasantries hadn’t been lost on him; he still greeted everyone properly unless they were openly rude to him, but his posture remained one of confidence and dominance.
