A Family Of Trees Wanted To Be Haunted
“I do hope none of those fearsome Praetor wolves attack me!” He shouted into the morning air, his back still turned on the den they all occupied.
She gulped and crept from the den quietly, approaching her father without a sound. Without Incendio, she wasn't quite sure what to say, so she often felt like it was better not to say anything at all. "G'morning," she murmured, whisper quiet. The young girl pressed her head to her father's leg and sat quietly at his side, waiting for the rest of her siblings to appear.
Tsunami had made it a habit to leave the den early in the morning before most of the runts got up. The girl was still conflicted about how she felt about the younger kids. She didn't hold back in her distaste for her father's new woman, not that she was particularly attached to her own mother anymore, after all, she'd hardly cared about them in Abaven and had taken them away from their father, but she resented that she'd occupied so much of her father's time and attention. But the pups couldn't help who their mother was, but they also often monopolized their father's attention however they were also a product of that period in time when they'd been kept from their father... and she couldn't help resenting them, wondering if they were there to replace herself and her siblings. That feeling was only exacerbated by Thythe's disappearance, leaving her feeling like part of her family would never be whole again... not that it would ever be possible with who her mother was. Still her father had come back for them, had brought them to a new place with them, instead of simply leaving them in Abaven when he easily could have and Tsunami deeply longed to reconnect with her father. So when she heard her father's voice beckoning his children the girl couldn't help but grin. She slipped out from a tree near their den, watching with narrowed eyes as one of the little kids bumped into her father's side. Tsunami suppressed a grown and dropped into the best stealth crouch she could manage. Sliding forwards the girl kept her gaze on her father's back, watching for signs he could see her. Then, without so much as a peep, the child launched herself at Tyranis, front paws outstretched and while she wasn't exactly aiming at her younger sister she wasn't going to be too torn up about catching the girl in the crossfire either.

He lowered into a crouch and wiggled his rump as he readied to pounce, then his ears perked when he heard his sister greeting their father. Well...that wasn't exactly fierce at all! But that was alright, he could make it up for the both of them! Creeping towards the edge of the den, movement from the side of his view caught his attention and he spotted one of his older siblings coming towards them. He watched her until she was just about ready to pounce on their dad, but with Idalia so close, he was worried she'd get caught in the crossfire. "Oh no you don't!" He muttered under his breath as he too, launched himself off his perch and aimed to land square on Tsunami's back in an effort to intercept her! Ha! Take that!
He heard a disturbance in the ground behind him and gave a wink to his daughter as Tsunami burst from behind him. Tyranis launched himself nearly a foot in the air, landing on his four paws with his fur suitably raised. “Tsunami! You scared me!” He said just in time for Incendio to crash into her.
“Kids…” He said warningly. “If you want to fight someone…fight me.” He grinned and dropped into a playful bow his ears pinned back and his lips raised in a playful snarl as he addressed his attackers, his paws sinking into the ground as he prepared for their assault. Raanee and Moses stood beside each other, the raven’s feathers raised against the cold while the serpent flicked her tongue in interest. She loved the children and the warmth they gave off and although she knew that her companion didn’t always need defending.

Incendio, ever her protector, came to her aid. She gave a little yip and greatfully butted her head against his shoulder. Tyranis threw down the gauntlet to all three of them and she laughed at the idea. Could they take him on? Maybe with all three of them. She play bowed in return, waggling her entire rear in anticipation. "I'll get you!" She announced, pouncing towards Tyranis' front right paw in an attempt to pin it down. He was still so much larger than her, a titanlike figure that she still had to crane her head at.
