Medusa was a creature of the night, not a particularly threatening one in that she rarely brought harm to anyone in any sort of capacity, but she was just as morally depraved as the monsters which went bump in the night. She cared for little else aside from her own pleasure and gain, rarely considering the effects of her actions on anyone. The only exception came for Jupiter, her love, her sun, the breath that filled her lungs. And yet, the woman made her more selfish than anyone else. Having been stuck in her own pack for too long, she had grown antsy, nervous about her mate, nervous that Jupiter?s heart was being coveted whilst Medusa was too far away to defend it. Oh, she cared little if the russet beauty was to casually fuck; it was what she had been doing this entire time, after all. Matters of the heart were entirely different. Anyone who professed more than a platonic love for Jupiter would be destroyed in one way or another, for she was a serpent, and what she coveted she did not share.
Her arrival in Ludicael was perhaps bold; she perhaps should have waited at the borders, but when the alpha was her lover she saw little point. She brought with her no army, no threatening rulers, nothing but the pelt on her fur and the determination in her eyes. Perhaps she could steal Jupiter away from her disgusting whelps today, in the hopes that they might reassert their bond to each other and discuss potential allied events. However, before she could track down the woman?s scent, another filled her nostrils. The father of her whelps. Had she been present in these lands, the serpent would not have felt quite so threatened. But out of anybody in Ludicael, the man proved the greatest threat to Jupiter?s heart. He had given her children, and because of that he had a bond with her that she could never obtain.
She hoped to move to put herself in his path, hoping to find herself with an excuse for an encounter. Anything to confront him and discover his intentions, anything to show Jupiter what a terrible person he was (well, he wasn't a terrible person, but she wanted to make it seem like he was), anything to keep what was hers untouched.

It was one of those nights when Jupiter and the pups were sleeping soundly and Marvel was wide awake. Every day he found himself battling Jupiter for the pups. Not in a way in which was publicly visible, but instead a battle that raged in his very mind. It seemed that she'd always be the winner, as she was the one currently able to feed them, and she had been the one to bring them into the world. All he'd done was plant the seed and watch it grow. It seemed every day the children longed for her affection, and shivered away from his own. He knew that they loved him too, but their affections seemed more evident when they were with Jupiter. He wasn't far off from the den, two, maybe three hundred yards at best. Paws carried him rhythmically back and forth, back and forth across the same ten-foot plot of land. Pacing wasn't something he'd done much before the pups had come, but it seemed now that they were here it was his new favorite hobby. He wasn't exactly in control of it, but he knew it was happening.

He pivoted, making another return trek across the plot of land, when a scent drifted across his nostrils, wrinkling his face in an instant. Medusa. His mind retched at the thought of her. The way she'd come into Jupiter's den and started throwing her slanderous words around, ruining their perfect moment of bliss. It wasn't as if he had any passion for Jupiter besides a physical want, it wasn't as if he was any real threat to Medusa on any level that she seemed to consider him a threat. But Marvel knew better than to try to tell a woman that. He ceased his pacing as her figure loomed in the distance, barely visible save for where a few beams of moonlight were cast in the right places to illuminate her. Well, if it isn't my favorite wolf on the planet. Cynicism dripped off of his lips as he rocked onto his haunches, casting a blank look in her direction.

It was not long before she stumbled across the brute, pacing as if he was nervous. Well, she assumed he had been pacing from the distance she had observed him. Good. Let him pace, let him consume himself with doubts and anxieties and fears. She neared with all the confidence of a Queen, expression nothing short of entertained. Her moonlight-colored eyes watched him, taking him in, hoping to discover which buttons to push and what nerves to pluck.

He spoke first and she responded with a chuckle, not minding the bitterness and sarcasm that came with his words. ?Sweetheart, I?m everyone?s favorite wolf,? she sniped, feigning an ego if only to see if that would bother him. She would stand with confidence and dominance, hoping to at least start her interrogation with the right air. Who was he to her? She was a queen and he was merely a healer lucky enough to spend a night with her beloved vixen, a man whom would feel her wrath if she believed his heart held anything but lust for the Sol. ?Will you be so vile to me? I?m practically the step mother of your own children. Shouldn?t we get along for the sake of the children?? she spoke, as if she truly care about the filthy whelps.
What would draw this man out of his shell? What buttons could she push to ensure that he would be thoroughly annoyed? She hoped to find out, sooner rather than later.

He had hoped that perhaps she would turn out to be a figment of his imagination sent to torture him further, but as she spoke and replied to his sarcastic comment he knew she was real. A growl bubbled up from his abdomen, but he kept it there, letting it swell and vibrate - but release no sound. "The ever-modest, Medusa.." It was more a comment for himself than for her, but it was spoken loud enough for her to hear if she were paying any attention at all. Her very presence here was not wanted, but it was obvious enough to him that he couldn't run her off. She believed she belonged here, and he was smart enough to see that he would never change that belief. "You are nothing to my children other than an antagonistic harlot, and you will remain so as long as I have a say in it." It was foolish to argue with her and he knew it, but there was something relaxing to getting some of the angst out of his mind and into the air.

The grumble that had been bubbling and frothing within his gut soon found its way up his trachea and through his cavernous jaws. "Don't you have a home of your own to haunt?" He'd heard through the grapevine that the woman had taken up Queenship over Amenti - something he was both surprised and amused by. He had assumed that the duties of queen might keep her annoying meetings at bay, but it seemed it would result in the exact opposite. It seemed nothing worked in his favor anymore.
