Basilia vs Eldi
The painfully-thin coydog's eyes seem huge in his sharp-angled face as he steps through the crowd, but it is clearly not out of fear. His pupils are huge, nearly engulfing the orange of his irises, and he stares at the remaining fighters with the sort of intense scrutiny that tends to make people uncomfortable. With his black coat and barely-visible gray brindling he looks like the sort of goth kid you can be pretty convinced is going to be a school shooter someday. He moves a little weirdly, too, kind of jerky and dinosaur-like. "You," he says, in a weirdly dramatic tone to Basilia, and "You," in the same manner to Eldi, and turns like a lizard chasing a cricket and leads them over to a ring of stones set into the ground. "I wouldn't step out of the ring if I were you," he tells them with an intense sort of tone, like he was warning them that they would die if they did, which was clearly ridiculous. "I will decide your fate when the battle draws to a close. You," he said, twisting his head weirdly aside to look toward Basilia, "Begin."

Éldi licked at his wounds, testing the scabs that were forming from his battles. So far so good, but if he were honest he was getting tired. He'd never been thrust into so many battles back to back before but he was excited for the next set of rounds. They were getting down to the best of the best. He was led away by another coydog to his next match against a fierce and bold looking woman. He smiled and dipped his head but kept his words to himself. He had no breath to spare. Askr took to the sky, the raven circling the match as Éldi set his defenses.
The woman dove toward him with determination etched in her face. Éldi swiftly stepped to his right, displacing her attacks. Her paw stomp would miss and her fangs would just graze the outside of his left shoulder. Éldi's centered his weight in his hind legs, his tail fanning out for added balance as he twisted his upper body to his left. He threw his forelegs foreward seeking to wrap his arms around her neck, his right arm across the back of her neck just in front of her shoulders, and his left arm underneath her neck, above her chest. Simultaneously he threw his jaws wide as he tried to bite the left side of the woman's face, aiming for his upper fangs to land just above her left eye and his lower fangs along the left corner of her jaw. He wanted to snap his jaws together in a brutal grip that would shred flesh and muscle down to the bone.

Zabit had been circling overhead and chose this moment to come down talons first, aiming for the man’s’ left shoulder with the intent of causing scratches and at least distracting the male from his current target.

Éldi's arms wrapped around the woman as he'd intended and he rapidly reset his defenses. His hind legs spread, his tail flagging out behind him for balance. As his jaws twisted for her face she pushed toward him but he was not deterred. His jaws still intended to shred the flesh of her face aiming for the same location. Éldi attempted to let the weight of his upper body push down on her while he continued his attack toward her face. A call from Askr alerted him to her companions attack but he had no intention of abandoning his position. All he could do was brace himself for the pain as the birds talon's tore into his shoulder, sending blood splattering to the ground. With any luck he'd buy that blood back with the woman's.

The duo continued to tustle and fight until the coydog barked out a sharp note to indicate that the fight had ended. Éldi broke off from the woman and turned to the little creature questioningly. No one had submitted, the fight was just getting good! He couldn't understand why it had been stopped until he looked at his feet and noticed that one of his paws had stepped outside the ring. Éldi snarled and swore. Go figure! He'd managed to make it this far only to get booted out for stepping outside the ring. What a shame! Well, that was it for him in this tournament. He felt he'd made it a good way in. There was pride in that at least even if he didn't come out on top.
