Venture Forth

He had been hearing about the changes to the lands from other wolves, and he had to admit it was definitely different than his old home. Where rain and sometimes the cold were more noticeable than anything else. The sun beat down upon his frame. Despite the heat that radiated off of it, at least it was starting to go down. His fluffy coat was so used to the cold that going into some portions of the desert had to be the stupidest decision he had ever done, next to fighting off a wolf who seemed more experienced than he; and he had the broken, unfix-able limb to prove it, wondering if he'd come across anyone else here.

Gero walked on for what felt like a while, but he had been really too focused on his thoughts to really notice a lot around him. He had been separated from his sister, and he prayed to the gods that she would be alright and they would be reunited soon. It at least seemed the odds were in his favor when he saw Soraya run, fighting off the man for as long as he could as they at least had scars to remember each other by.
His ears flicked however when the sounds of a vulture happened to catch his attention as he limped. And, after a little bit of time, a stranger would happen to catch his emerald gaze. They seemed much taller than he was, and the last thing the alabaster brute needed at this time was another fight. It had at least been a month since his injury, but any fight that he could avoid he would accept as he stopped in his tracks; hoping that that would alert the stranger that they had been spotted. There wasn't any signs of a pack as far as he could tell, making sure to stay away from those lands the best he could; but life always seemed to throw him a curve-ball whenever it could as he waited on the stranger to present themselves as he waited calmly and patiently.
The vulture that passed Gero was not the only one in the area. As the sun went down, more and more gathered, some making circles in the sky while others settles and waited, as if begging the limping wolf to give up on his endeavors. While it seemed that there were only a few at first, by the time the sun sets, one will not be able to look in any direction without seeing at least five or ten of the birds... sitting... waiting.
