A matronly coydog whose gray fur bears white brindling bustles up to the fighters and looks them over. Her eyes fall on AUREUS and THETA, and she is quick to gather the pair of them together. "Come along dears," she coos to the two of them, and bundles them over to a circle of stones set into a ring in the ground. "All right then, sweeties, make sure you stay inside the ring, ok? If you step out I'll have to disqualify you, I'm afraid. I'll declare a winner when we are ready, but remember that its having fun that counts. Darling, you go ahead and go first," she adds to AUREUS.

Grinning, Aureus moved onto his next match. So far the tournament was going really well for him and he was proud to have bested his brother at such an important match. If there was anyone he would hold himself in measurement to it was Pyrrhic. He was pulled along to his next match again another young pup. Clearly she was either very spirited or very lucky to have made it this far. Aureus felt suddenly nervous. He had to be sure he didn't screw up and step out of the ring or do something else to default himself. He didn't want to lose to a pup even on a technicality.

Squaring off against the girl he set his defenses and was given the go ahead to go first. He sized her up for a moment then kicked off, heading straight on. His chin tucked sharply and his head dove down as he tried to seize her scruff just at the nap of her neck where her skill met her spine. He sought to keep his jaws angled straight down to shield his throat. At the same time he lifted his right foreleg, shifting his weight to his grounded limbs as he attempted to throw his right fore leg across the girls shoulders seeking to force her down in a pin.

Theta was against yet another wolf that was a lot bigger than she was. Luck had been with her the last time and she hoped it would be with her again. Surely the same tactic wouldn’t work twice in a row, so she decided to try something else. She would use her size and speed to her advantage. As soon as they were given the go ahead Theta took off running, not in a straight line as she had been doing but in a zigzag format. If she took evasive moves the idea was to throw off the opponents attacks and make them miss. Her last zigzag was aimed to run right between her opponents front legs, to then jump up and latch on to his under belly with her teeth.

The pup would start zig-zagging toward him and he slowed, watching the rhythm of her movement and then when she zigged he would zag, leaping clean over her and just avoiding her teeth. He whirled around as quickly as he could seeking to grab her by the tail. He hoped to get a hold and flip her out of the ring in one smooth motion but first he had to catch the little squirt without accidentally stepping out of the ring himself. He kept his defenses in place, even against such a small opponent. Kali was being completely unhelpful, pacing around the ring and giggling. This wasn't funny, this was humiliating!

She now understood why most wolves ran in a straight line, doing anything else gave the opponent more time to think. The less time they had to process the better. The older wolf had avoided her bite attack and had escaped her sight. This was less of a fight and more of a game of tag, at this rate she wasn’t going to do anything to him. She was inexperienced and he was a lot bigger than her, she would have to take her losses on this one. Strength wouldn’t be any use to her until she grew into her adult form, she would have to be careful about who she picked her fights with from here on out.

Determined not to just walk away and openly give up Theta decided she would at least try and draw blood. She flipped around and darted straight for the wolf’s left foreleg, jaws open and ready to bite.
