Fracture was almost finished with the northwestern corner of his map. From here he'd work his way into the Winterfell territories, and then move further south. Within his jaws was the over-sized leaf hardened with clay that he'd used to scrawl crude pictures of the places he'd seen. Exhaustion was beginning to seep into his bones, mingling with the harsh chill. He was happy to be headed home.

Between the lake he'd visited and home was a massive cluster of glaciers that proved treacherous to climb. Multiple times on his ascent he considered simply abandoning the region and taking the path through Gale Gorge instead on his way home. However the navigator did not like to consider himself a failure, and so he was determined to make it to the top. It took what felt like hours, but he finally made it to the top. The land was pristine and clean, it was not marred by a single other paw print or claw mark and Fracture was pleased to consider himself the first to arrive. He sat himself atop the glacier's peak and bent down to scrawl the wonder of what he saw onto the map below him.

her steps were light, refusing to touch down on the ice for very long, as she walked. the ground was cold and there was little cover aside from the towering glaciers. she felt she was a sitting duck. Bee had no idea how she had come to this land; to be honest, it was all still a daze to her. but she was here, and that's what mattered in the end, wasn't it? she'd glance around with wide eyes, the wonder and amazement breaking through the chill in the air. she may be cold, but that wasn't going to stop her. she'd keep moving and hope for the best.

speaking of hoping, she seemed to have happened upon another being. her ears shot up as she hurried forward. as she neared, it was a man who was hunched over something on the ground. she'd look behind her, surprised that she had climbed all this way on a whim. the view must be amazing up here at night! she'd follow Polaris anywhere. "hello there" she sighed dreamily, her vocals light as she neared the stranger. the woman had a distinctive feminine tone that was airy. "did you come to speak to the clouds?"

Of anything that could have happened at that moment, Fracture expected company to be the least likely thing. He was sure of it from the state of the glaciers on his climb that he had been the first - the only - one to lay paws upon this peak. Where the hell did this woman come from? Did she follow him up the ice cliffs? Bewildered, he turned to her. "Hello.." He began carefully, eyeing her as she sighed in a way he could only describe as dreamily. Her voice was light and feminine, devoid of all aggression or anxiety. How could anyone be so relaxed? "...I have come to map the area." He motioned to his tools with a paw, a confused expression on his face as she asked him if he'd meant to speak to the clouds. What a weird yet interesting individual.

It was hard to take his gaze off her carefree face, and for every moment that her youthful relaxed energy radiated outwards he himself became slightly more anxious and confused. He could handle angry, fierce wolves. He could handle sad, depressed wolves. Fracture however had no idea on how to handle an exuberant, friendly, cloud-talking wolf.

He managed to tear his eyes off her to return to his map, etching into it more of what he saw from the peak. As he made the markings upon it - being careful to try to show the sheer height from where he stood - his eyes occasionally flickered back up to her, as if she might pounce at any minute.

she was quite oblivious to his shock. smiling cheerfully, Bee just stared as he said 'hello' back and elaborated on what he was doing up here. she tore her crimson gaze away from him to look up at the sky. there were few clouds available, but at least they were looking down at them all the same. he mentioned a map, gesturing to the parchment as he did so. "oh" she gave a simple reply at first, her eyes elsewhere and heavily distracted by the area. it was almost all white, almost all boring. but somehow she couldn't take her eyes off of the view.

the woman thought it would be fun to slide down the glacier on her way back. certainly, it beat walking down it. she would slip and slide anyway, so why not have some fun with it? it had been a chore to get up here, and surely the other wolf was shocked but she didn't follow him. it had been fate itself that brought them together. she turned back to the man, displaying open interest in his map. "I find the clouds aren't very talkative anyway." Bee added in with a giggle.

"ooh, do you have a star chart by chance?" there was so much down on the ground, but sometimes she wanted the simplicity of the heavens. maybe if he did, she could buy it off him. trade for it. though what he could want was beyond her.

Fracture looked from the map towards the skies, bi-colored gaze flitting over the clouds and skies. Somehow in his ascent he'd lost direction, and he hoped by finding the sun that he might be able to determine which way was north so that he might more accurately depict it on his map. Catching the sun with his gaze he looked back down, hastily scrawling a few marks upon the clay.

This portion of his mapping was nearly finished and he let himself trail his gaze once more along the ground and horizon, looking for any last details he could find that he could draw into his clay. Unfortunately the sights - while beautiful - were repetitive and ice-covered, and therefore this portion of his map would never look as unique as the twisting tower he'd started his drawing with further west.

Finished, he let his attention return to the stranger. "My name is Fracture." He offered in lieu of more discussion on cloud-talking. He did not need for her name in reply, but he only hoped it wasn't something frilly like "tree-hugger" or "cloud-chaser." She had a peculiar feeling that intrigued the dark male however, and his ear swiveled to catch her response. A star chart? What a thought. "I'm afraid not." He responded curiously. "Though the idea is not a bad one. Perhaps on my patrols I'll look to the sky more and try and map them next."

she didn't seem to care if the man shared an interest in talking with clouds. Bee's attention was too quick-moving to really care if another felt she was odd. she didn't have time to worry over another's opinion - especially if it was about her. everyone was entitled to their opinions after all. even if she didn't form one so easily, she was a firm believer in such subjects. and despite being a pretty place, there was not a whole lot here. there was no foliage, no animals...her eyes scanned all around her before settling back on the man.

in fact, the whole area seemed to echo with each word the other spoke. she longed to yell into the void, whooping happily to nature itself. "Willoughby" her airy tone gave her name, finding no reason to keep it to herself. a name was something to be shared and cherished. keeping it to yourself was... selfish. "ooh, that's too bad" she tsk'ed lightly as she closed her eyes. her disappointment was brief as she opened them back up. "well, at least you'll have Polaris for the company when you do."

her crimson gaze strayed from his features to look up at the sky where she envisioned the north star to be now. if he said he patrolled, he must live around here in the north. her tail swished behind her as she looked back at the map. "the earth gives us many blessings" Bee went on dreamily "funny that people draw a map of the earth with materials from it, isn't it?" she chuckled fondly.
