Speech

He'd buried her beside her daughter, one mound of the earth mostly grown over in grass though it was swiftly dying in the late autumn cold, and a new fresh mound marking where Jewell had been laid to rest, he'd gathered a few less wilted flowers placing some on his nieces' gave and the rest on Jewell's grave. His mind was spinning, he had had so many plans for the upcoming days and knew a lot of his duties couldn't wait, but now he'd need to find time to visit the last of Jewell's kids, the only nephew he had left, assuming Blaise had simply vanished as he had done before.

As he stared blankly at the gravesite he felt his eyes prickling for the first time since he'd found his sister earlier that morning. As he'd broken the news to his niece he'd kept it strong, his jaw locked like a dam against the flood of his grief. Torin stood stock still, his limbs locked in place as he finally let himself feel the familiar cold of grief settle over him. Just as he'd thought we was starting to get his family back... his sister, the one he'd been closest too for the last few years, well he'd let her slip away hadn't he? That guilt settled onto his shoulders and he ducked his head, if he hadn't been frozen in his standing position he'd have been hunched over himself.

Zell was feeling...all sorts of things. His heart felt heavy, like a weight sat in his chest. Jewell had passed away in his arms last night, and despite their incredibly distant and rocky relationship, he had tried to make amends. Only...it had probably been too late at that point. He had let Torin take her to be buried beneath the earth next to her daughter while he had returned to his den for a little while to deal with the grief on his own. He always tried to put on a strong front, and he would still try. Just...he'd do it alone. He didn't take too long, though. And when he finally did make it towards the grave site, he found Torin standing over them and placing flowers on their graves.

He quietly approached him, and without a word he leaned over to place an object on Jewell's grave. A necklace. The one that Faite used to wear. He nosed it gently into place before stepping back to stand beside his son. The silence in the air was deafening, and he knew it was hard on Torin to have lost yet another person he considered family. Someone that was part of her family. He had at least, and hoped, that he had given Jewell some piece of mind by making her an official part of his family in her last moments. For a while Zell remained silent as he struggled to keep his voice from cracking with emotion. Finally after what felt like forever, he was able to somewhat speak. "We both fucked up..." He whispered quietly. Neither had truly been there for her in her time of need. She had been dealing with things on her own. And it had taken him until last night to realize that.

there was a lot of commotion by some dirt and Siobhan didn't know what to do.

she had crept after her father as he was dragging the body of another wolf, thinking her silence was mainly due to shock. Papa was so focused on his alpha-business that he didn't see her or hear her. she'd never seen a body before, and her child-like innocence wanted to ask if the colorful lady would wake up. but somehow she knew to keep her mouth shut until another wolf approached Papa. she was too far away to hear the whispered words but Papa looked so miserable that she chose to go over to him.

"Papa, what's wrong?" Siobhan would whine, throwing herself between his front legs and resting her little head against them. they were all dirty from digging but she didn't care if they happened to make her dirty. Grandpa was here too, and she shot him a confused look before glancing up at her big strong Papa. "who was that? why did you bury her?" she looked at the ground next, frowning "is it cause she's cold?"

the scent of death hung in the air.

as a healer, he knew that too well. people died all the time. from old age to injuries suffered, there was never any doubt it was a natural part of life. Holland hadn't lost a patient yet, and he felt if he could have done something he wouldn't feel so lost. though he didn't know the woman personally, he had seen her being dragged and buried by Torin alone. part of him wanted to go to the alpha and help him, but the man was simply a healer. there was no healing a dead body. plus, he didn't know Torin very well and felt like he was intruding on something private.

only when the little Siobhan came forward did he walk after her. wherein she was with her father, Holland took a seat a few paces behind the gathering group. his blue eyes were focused on the mound, wondering if he should collect some soothing flowers to place there. ones that really helped the dead move on, find peace and keep evil spirits at bay. though he was not superstitious anymore, he knew that those flowers were nice to place on graves all the same. his head would dip as a show of respect for the dead woman, though no words came.

"SPEECH"

holland is not a nice character typically; his views do not reflect my own.

The youngling would follow her twin sister towards the gravesite. A feeling of gloom washed over her as those brilliant magenta eyes fell upon her sad papa. A tiny puppy frown formed on those inky lips as she waddled up next to her sibling. Ears perked as she took in the sounds of her sibling speak. Aryn couldn't help but to be confused herself. It was too soon for her to comprehend death or its meaning. Bad things happened and she had been taught of such. But, in reality she couldn't grasp the severity of the situation.

Aryn sat and lowered her head. That fluffy tail moved around her hind legs as her eyes flicked to the ground. The girl wanted to leave and never see papa in such a sad way ever again. But, she also didn't wanna make him more upset by seeing her skurry off. So the little lady sat in solemn silence for a few moments before finally letting forth a few soft tones. "I do not like seein' papa so sad."
