she was very excited to host this event.

everyone was probably quite nervous with the eruption. it would be a good distraction and also a good idea to meet others that were having the same issues as yourself. at least, that's what Willoughby believed. even if romance did not blossom, the people who were interested could maybe find a friend or two. she rather hoped there would be no trouble though. tensions could be high. rivalries already made that she was not aware of.

for now, she focused entirely on quick grooming before her own partner arrived. Bee had made sure to look decent. typically she did not care what she looked like, but if she was to be hostess she had to set an example. she only had the name of her partner, plucked from a randomized choosing of those who 'signed up' for the event. Dagfinn. of course, they should know her name as well. though sometimes it could slip through the cracks. she didn't know what the other looked like. nor their gender.

so it was half-blind date and half-speed date. how exciting. continuing to wash by the water's edge, Willoughby kept one ear alert for sounds and movements. her pelt was looking glossy by now, and it seemed to shine and stand out from the snow-covered ground.

Alright, admittedly, he'd almost ducked out of this whole shenanigan when the volcano erupted. Seriously? There were still people looking for love in the face of... whatever the hell that was on the horizon? He grumbled to himself as he trudged along Auster's coast. At least this event was far and away from all of the trouble. Valkyrie would be looking for him soon, he assumed. The band was going to move along soon and he had better be there when they did. He would go to great lengths for a pretty lady, though - including crossing ash and snow laden ground. "Oi... this better be worth it," he hissed, staring out over the coast. The event was taking place at Lazuli Falls. It sounded impressive enough that he figured he'd recognize it when he saw it. Recognize it he did! The thundering falls were an unmistakable landmark. Beneath the rushing waters stood a ... green? lady. Worth it enough, by all accounts. "Hello hello!" he called, picking up the pace until he stood before her. "Are you the minx 'm looking for?" "dagfinn bellows!"

a man would appear, his coat the color of soot and ash like the eruption had caused the landscape. her eyes went to him, taking her first partner in with a welcoming smile. he asked if she was the 'minx' he was supposed to find, and the woman chuckled warmly. "if this minx is named Willoughby, then yes" she replied, twisting her body to face the man properly. "am I quite right to assume your name is Dagfinn?"

some wolves were named after what they looked like but some were not. she had found many names did not match their owners at first. Willoughby did not know what a 'dagfinn' was supposed to be, but she thought it fit the man nonetheless. it sounded foreign and mysterious. did she also detect a bit of an accent? she did. where was he from? well, she supposed she should confirm first if they were meant to be in the same area right now. some wolves could get lost or forgo in favor of finding their own partners.
