She had gone as far as she could from The Forgotten Isle, heading North when darkness on the horizon caught her dark red eyes. She watched from her new home as smoke and ash began to fill the air, and lava spewed from a place called Mount Volkan. She could see the multitude of birds fill the air and swarm around safer roosts. Umbra had nearly gone mad when the smoke first touched the sky, telling Aza over and over that they needed to run, or be swallowed in the catastrophe.

Looking now, she could see more smoke and fires, though their glow were what gave them away. Her friends had been silent, and she wasn't even sure if they had made it or not, the faeries were so delicate after all. Perhaps, she would make new friends on this Northern journey. Something told her she would need to use some of her skills as a witch healer, so she focused some on what she had with her. Umbra had little carrying use, but there was a smidge of dexterity to her claws.

Lost, alone and scared out of her wits, Eira had made a mad dash north after leaving the crypt. She had run as fast and as far as her legs would carry her, and before she knew what happened, the young navigator landed at a place that was entirely foreign to her. Grief held her fast in its icy grip, though she had no time to express such feelings. Her mother had been wandering lost, her mind addled by an unseen enemy. Unbeknownst to them, a tumor had grown in her mother's brain, and had continued to grow until her passing. Stardust hadn't even recognized her daughter as anything more than a kind stranger who refused to leave her side, Eira had seen to it that she was peaceful and at rest before her mother passed. Still, it was hard to let the woman go, long after the last breath had been ushered from her mother's lungs. "Tell them I am sorry, and that I love them." The last of Star's mind had gone to her mate and children, Eira's father and her siblings, a thought that made her cry over and over again. "I love you, too, Momma." The girl had whimpered after the last breath was gone.

Now, Eira was lost, driven away from her mother's resting place in the crypt by deep vibrations and the smell of acrid smoke that wafted into the caverns of the crypt. No sooner than the girl had exited, than the rocks came sliding down the mountainside and toward her. The falling stones made the girl run from her mother and the world she knew into a new world of ice and warm geysers. A whimper had escaped her as she limped toward a ridge that would allow her to look over what the rumble had actually been. An eruption had caused mass destruction, fires and smoke clouded everything it seemed. She had made it to safety, but she worried over the family she couldn't find, about what her family was doing in the wake of this disaster.

It was then that the girl noticed a stranger nearby, one who seemed to be watching as the volcano brought destruction and left grief in its wake. Perhaps, the woman would be friendly, perhaps not. Eira had no choice though, she had to know what was going on. Limping on cracked and bloody paws, the girl made her way toward the masked stranger. "Hello? Are you okay?" The youthful tones of the girl were awash with mourning and pain, but they still carried the bell-like quality that would always be in her voice. There was little time to think about the repercussions of talking to strangers now, perhaps the wolf would help her, perhaps not. But there was hope.

Walk. "Talk." Think. "You."

The voice of another drew her blood red gaze from the destruction of Boreas, this one sounded young, though there was sorrow thick in the tones of the timid greeting. "Hello, yes, I am alright." Looking down at the red that brushed the bottom of the girl's paws, Azariah's eyes widened beneath her mask. Swiping her paw over her head, Azariah let her skull mask clatter to the ground as she looked over the yearling with concern. "You're bleeding, would you like some help?" It wasn't often that Azariah was willing to help another, but this girl seemed to have been through enough than to be left to suffer with bloody paws. Without hesitation, the witch pulled one of the younger girl's paws up to observe the deep crack that bled.

This was not so bad, but infection could set in, which would lead to sepsis. "Umbra, fetch some yarrow and a wide leaf. I may need some kind of cording to use to bind it together." As soon as her order was ushered, Umbra flew off with a chortled call and went to find what was needed. In the meantime, Azariah would try and get her new friend to calm down. The girl seemed rather panicked, even though it was not outwardly displayed, Azariah was perceptive enough to spot the dilated eyes and harried breaths that the girl took. "I am Azariah, by the way. A witch healer. I noticed the eruption and figured that others would need help." A gentle smile was given to the younger girl, while the healer was nervous, she didn't want to add to the stress of her charge.
